KAS Whitlow Hi don't know why it gave me this screen but it won't go away till I write something ... So I liked your comment! Nice to know some people still remember Glenn' singing!!
Schweet! GC was such an amazing singer and musician. JW wrote some great tunes for him. I like this on JW’s “10 Easy Pieces” CD which I bought new on clearance for only $3. What a great CD too.
While a number of people have recorded this, you know it was written specifically for Glen since it was another great song written by Jimmy Webb. A man who has never gotten the credit he deserves.
Survivrs If this song was "specifically" for Glen then, why wasn't he the first to record it? As luck would have it, Joe Cocker was the first to release the song in August 1974. Then Glen Campbell recorded it in, October1974. Don't get me wrong, Glen is one of my favorite singers, guitarist, and storytellers of all time... just as Joe is! I just want to give credit, where credit is due. Joe was also
I have not heard Jimmy Webb's, or Linda Ronstadt's Versions, but the Song was so well written. I liked this Song the first time I heard it in the Mid 70's.
I am not quite sure whether the comment about Linda Ronstadt’s version was just blithering stupidity by some random cloth-eared clown, or if he meant her’s was an especially beautiful version of the song. Let’s be generous and assume the latter.
Good God - how can anyone have been born with this much talent? RIP Glen
Absolutely LOVE this song with Glen Campbell singing it❤
"I tripped and missed my star..." the way Glen sings that line still gives me goosebumps every time.
I thought I was the only one that happened to in this song.
@@toolatehello3345 Just you and me, I guess? :)
@@BradCarlMusic Happy new year!
@@toolatehello3345 Same to you!

Hauntingly beautiful! It’s hard to believe he is gone.
He’s still with me. I listen to him nearly every day & he always hits the notes.

Glen, you sang this like no other. Jimmy Webb must be so proud. I know I am.
Beautiful song sung by probably the very best. Just wonderful.
Wow. Glen's cover stands up besides any other.
Studio musician
The sky is made of stone is so final. There is no saving the relationship. It gives me chills.
God it is spectacular. Otherworldly singing.
Hope you enjoy Glen's rendition of Jimmy Webb's great song, with the sound somewhat closer to how it was originally.
oldgoody1 I think this sounds better than the original.
Great job, thanks.
Thanks. Brought tears to my eyes!
Beautiful video for a beautiful song.
Hauntingly beautiful

Beautiful rendition. Glenn was spot on. Bravo.
Yes. Always pitch perfect. His passing was a huge loss for mankind. “One of a kind talent.”
I have 121 albums of glen campbell. They call me joe campbell when I sing his songs.
So perfect! Thank you so much!
No one better.
