    Do a running stitch for the border in the beginning then stitch the middle of your patch. Then do another run stitch for the border so it’s sturdy. Then cut off the extra materiel and then the satin stitch at the end

      I agree. Leave the satin border at the end.

    Hey Cam. Glad you're back dude. The embroidery stuff is pretty cool. Very interesting for sure, a change of pace. It's always fun to mess around and learn new cool stuff. Oh Uhhm... You forgot to add the little ® registration symbol or ™ TM Trade Mark to the patch right after "PrintLife". I don't know if you could make it legible, but at least a little little circle dot thingie... Awesome stuff brother. Thanks for sharing. 👍🏼 ⇒ The PrintLife Software Patron 4 Life ⇐

    Pop-out patches:
    1) hoop plastic (doesn’t need to be the water soluble stuff, heavy poly from the hardware store will work)
    2) placement stitch (if using pre-cut fabric)
    3) place fabric
    4) tack down stitch
    5) if not using pre-cut, trim now
    6) all the inside elements of the patch, sequenced center out wherever possible
    7) final satin border
    8) pop patch out and clean up edges

    • @ThePrintLife
      @ThePrintLife  3 роки тому

      Perfect thank you. Do you clean up edges with good ol fashioned scissors?

    • @1981muldo

      @@ThePrintLife not when popped out of plastic. If the satin edge is done correctly with a proper density it should just tear right out. Then just kiss any stragglers with a bic lighter.

    A wee tip
    Don’t do badges 1 at a time takes too long especially as you only have 1 head.
    You can buy drilled cotton or whatever material you choose as a roll and run a batch of say 12 on a back hoop ( bigger size obviously ) and cut them out after.
    While adds work that way, it’s quicker overall and you can then do the backing on the full batch while running the next batch and then cut them up and press the job. By the time you’re done the next batch should be done.

    how long does the patch last on the shirt when heat pressed?

  • @elitedigitising4017
    @elitedigitising4017 3 роки тому

    Two other ways you will get better results....embroider directly onto the sleeve. By the time each process is done you could have embroidered and finished. Other way is embroider onto twill material if there are lots merge multiple files to fit in one large hoop. Instead of satin stitch finish border use running stitches. Cut out, place and tack down badge and finish off with satin border to keep badge in place.

    • @ThePrintLife
      @ThePrintLife  3 роки тому

      What is the best way to cut the twill. I am doing it by hand and the results are choppy at best. I assume a plotter cutter is the best method.

    • @elitedigitising4017
      @elitedigitising4017 3 роки тому

      @@ThePrintLife by hand is fine once the logo itself is cut out you can use a temporary adhesive to stick onto the garment/sleeve to keep in place then ensure you have a fairly thick border which should cover nicely. The method you use to heatseal a badge on is that unfortunately you flatten the embroidery once pressed. Let me know if you need a file set up for you to try.
