@@Erligan ehh, yes and no. On solo missions, you have all the ammo to yourself, so that means all the ziplines, platforms, and drill fuel you could ever want. Sure the scout can get to places faster, but every class can get to places they want, just takes some finesse
I've always thought that this game was custom made for Splatt; a dwarf-loving, gun-loving, bug hating, former geologist. Pretty funny when you think about it. It even has survival elements and the ability to have a "dog." The only thing missing is a free roaming "cat" for inside the base.
Oh no... a "Geologist".. lol. A professor had a big rant about her classroom constantly being filled with 'Easy-money' Geoligists. My field has plenty of those.

DRG is a fun game, but it's real charm lies in its community. I love the game for the gameplay, co-op and of course who doesn't love blasting bugs? But that community just makes this a better game.
Indeed, I remember a good number of times a random pick up group would just hang out for a little bit, dancing, drinking beer until that one dwarf (And there's always one) says "Let's do the next mission drunk!" And then you all go piling in back onto the planet three sheets to the wind :)
ROCK AND ROLL AND STONE! In all seriousness, this game is awesome and almost everyone is nice in the community. After hundred of public missions I've only had a handful of missions where ONE of the players was toxic. Makes it so much more friendly to Green Beards.
My friends and I had so much fun playing through this, working our way through the ranks on all the character types until we were able to scrape through Hazard 5 missions. So glad it's getting so much exposure lately.

I didn’t realize this game had that much depth. I might have to check it out. Thanks. Man I’m so glad I found this channel. So many awesome titles to check out.
DRG is a fantastic game if you're into co-op shooters. You can play the whole game solo, but it really shines when you bring some friends (or make new ones mid-mission) and can see all the synergy between the classes. Driller can make holes, either to go straight through a wall, or even the floor/roof. Nice to shortcut areas, or get back to the escape shuttle when the route to get out sucks, but you can also use it to just clear some open space for boss fights. Gunner is kind of the opposite of driller, in that the ziplines are fantastic for crossing open spaces. If the path forward is a hole in the ground/roof, or you need to cross a large chasm, ziplines are your best friend. Scout kind of does it's own thing with the grappling hook, and the flare helps the whole party out obviously, but it does pair super well with the engineer. The engineer can shoot out foam pads to create footholds, or fill in holes in the ground so you don't fall through a crack in the ground, or even chain them together to make a bridge. Bonus points if you have a scout in the party. Ore spawned up on the side of the wall? Shoot a platform under the ore, and the scout can grappling hook up onto it to mine the ore!
Interesting pick! I have been enjoying this game for some time now. The reason there is very little toxisity is there is no insentive for zero-sum behaveyour. Everyone gets the same at the end of the run, no matter how well they did. It is sooo refreshing!
This game is just such a gem. And the community makes it great. Rock and stoning everyone who joins or doing it to someone who does a good play, or helps you out is such a nice thing. Or that I can zip line up someplace high and without pinging I’ll often have a engineer throw a platform under me to help. The mentality that we are all watching for eachother and making things smoother for everyone is great. It doesn’t happen non stop obviously but it happens enough to where I expect it. I had a match yesterday where the MULE for real went straight up to leave for the pod and I just couldn’t zip line in there and fell to my death 3 times. Despite the exit being only 50m away up (it was like 400 going the normal way) they would wait and come down and get me, try to open the hole more to allow easier access and point out the angles they went through. When they could have just went and sat in the ship and waited the last 1:30 (took everyone a bit to get up there). It’s just great to have a game that people just play as a community without being told to. It is why I like warframe because it has kinda the same thoughtful community.

Very cool video. It's always nice to see more people enjoying DRG ! And yeah, I do agree that the community is quite chill usually. I do want to correct you about two things on the scout class though, so people don't get the wrong idea about classes :P 1) The HP pool is the same across all dwarves. Only the equipement differ ! 2) The scout has very good DPS. What he's lacking is swarm clear capabilities. ^^ The classes are mostly well balanced and it's rare enough to be pointed out !
Yeah, the scout has good dps, but it tends to be longer range with pinpoint accuracy, which is a niche that all the other dwarves are actually not great at. He can really good up close damage as well in the dual machine pistols or the double barrel shotgun, but they tend to run out of ammo quick and are thus more of a backup weapon than something you can rely on to clear large amounts of bugs.
@@santeri9149 They all get that. The thing that makes gunner "tankier" is that his utility item is the portable shield generator, which he can drop down in an emergency to protect anyone inside it.
This game captured my imagination when I first saw it years ago. Played it almost constantly from before it even released into early access. Glad you like the game so much and thanks for covering it :) You should totally try the special powder overclock. It's just silly fun. Jump, shoot down, and away you go. Even better on low grav. Just don't fire up when you jump, or you'll splat yourself ;)

The Devs are constantly improving the game, add new content, weapons, enemies, events you name it. It is just getting better and better. These guys put a lot of companies to shame. "Here, have some extinction!" (Scout, probably). Rock & Stone!
It feels like -to me, at least- the lack of toxicity in DRG probably has a lot to do with the nature of people who like Dwarves. We're generally very supportive and community-oriented. Rock and Stone, Brother!
Ah, awesome. I play scout too, grappling hook is so much fun, even if I half kill myself some of the time. I do go with the opposite gun loadout though. I'll have to check out the new content, robots sounds cool.
Not only is the community top notch, the devs are amazing. Constantly releasing amazing updates and content, super transparent, attentive to the community’s opinions, and not greedy at all. That’s why so many people buy the DLCs to support them.
Hey Mr broadcaster just want to say you've opened a rabbit hole that can no longer be closed. I'm having a blast with this game and I've got some of my friends hooked too.
Nitpicks: The main method of lighting are throwable flares which recharge slowly. The flares seen in the video are only for the scout. The main customization terminal are the cabinets by the quarters. The one in the video is for buying new appearance customization features. To use stuff you already own you need the cabinets.
If you don't planning to roll on highest difficulty, then solo is completely feasible. Game even have flying companion bot what mine resources, shoot enemies and revives you. However higher difficulties are usually very stressful for solo non-scout players. They still doable, but will demand from you knowledge, experience and dedication to learning finest mechanics. But haz3 you can faceroll solo pretty much with anything. You can complete every event, hazzard, mission and earn every cosmetics. Every class and every weapon viable in solo play. I usually play online, but I love me some solo deep dive from time to time. Check on UA-cam solo elite deep dives to get more thorough understanding how game plays at that level.
You get a robot you can customize and order around to help you in solo play. Might be dicey if you want to run hardest difficulty but a good time for sure
I have a more pg explanation to the weakspots, The dreadnought hiveguard uses it to cool down as the heavy armor gets hot so when you break them it has to open its backside.
There's never been a time limit, aside from the escape section at the end of the mission. Once you call in the drop pod you have a certain amount of time to get inside it before it leaves without you. As long as at least one dwarf makes it into the pod you win the mission, though for every dwarf who makes it out alive you get some bonus xp/credits.

Deep rock galactic or DRG is an amazing game. If you can get 2 or 3 friends with you and say goodbye to hours
