Honda Navigation Code Retrieval and Reset Instructions

- In this video, I show how I found the radio and navigation codes for my 2010 Honda Odyssey and reset my Honda navigation system.
The first place to check for your codes is in the glove box. There is a white sticker that has 2 sets of numbers. Check your manual for a radio code card if your sticker containing these codes is destroyed or missing. If the codes are absent, continue with this method.
I do not show the entering of the radio code as the radio code from the Honda website needed to be corrected. Luckily, a previous owner wrote the radio code in the manual. The codes provided by their website are rarely wrong.

Also, you can open the glove compartment and the left side, visible to the driver, has stickers on it with the navigation pin and the radio code number.

This is amazing! It is a process, but it really works! I had no idea that this happens when the battery is removed (anti-theft) so when we had our battery replaced we didn’t know what was going on. Thanks fir posting this and for the fact that it really works!!

Thank you! The local Honda dealer wanted me to bring the car in and pay to have them reset it. I would just like to say that the web page address wasn't in the video but you can find it on the Honda website. Gee, would have killed the dealer to tell me I could find the info on the Honda website?!

Found the code for radio and navigation in the back when you open the back door it's at the top where the seal is ,two stickers with two numbers on each the top numbers are for the radio and navigation.

The code website now looks different than in the video. The radio code worked. But the Navi code that the website gave was: "36115,7906B". But the Navi screen itself only wants a 4-digit code. Is something changed or broken?
Figured it out, in my case above, just use the "7906". Ignore the leading numbers up to the comma, and ignore the last letter. The code worked and the GPS is now working.

You may want to check the common spots as mentioned in many comments where people have found the code. For example when you open the glove box a sticker attached to the inside or outside of glove box with code, potentially in the owners manual as well. Hope this helps. Check the comments section.

Any idea the combination on a 2017? im told to hold button 16 but its touch screen. they dont exist. Button are different on 2017 compared to yours

how do i get the radio to work neither code is doing it
Thanks a bunch for watching my video video and taking the time to comment. This would need to be physically looked at if the codes corresponding to the radio serial number and VIN don’t match. It’s possible someone changed the radio at some point and there is a different radio code. Please share an update, thanks.

If I replace my nav screen will i need to obtain a new code or just use the one i use on mine which I'm replacing? Not sure if the code is specific to the head unit/screen or that box under the seat.

@@WheelsTips Thanks for getting back to me. I’m not sure what the digitizer is exactly. I’m replacing the screen and attached cd player. All of the sellers I’ve contacted say they don’t have the code. I’m hoping I can use my code but no one seems to know for sure.
Thanks so much for the follow up, much appreciated. Are you doing the work yourself or a remanufacture. If someone is doing the work for you they will probably know. As I said, can’t say for sure but good chance the code will not change when replacing the screen. As for the DVD/CD player I am not sure at all. Definitely looking forward to an update.
@@WheelsTips I'm doing it myself. It is pretty easy to swap out. Just a few screws and plugs in the back of the unit. I've already replaced it twice with ones from a salvage yard but in both cases, they were defective so I've never actually made it to the pin enter part yet. The display and cd player come as one unit (they can probably be separated) and install as one. The DVD is part of the radio which is separate from the GPS display.

my screen shows the "enter code", but the screen is not responsive except "2" and "5". I have the correct four digit code, but since the screen is bad, I can't put in the correct numbers.
Is there a way around using the screen and just use the knobs? It works for the radio, so I'm wondering if it works for the navigation.

Personally I have sent my headunit to get rebuilt/ remanufactured in the past at a fraction of replacement of the actual radio is malfunctioning.

I have an Acura I just bought from dealership and it did this so will this work for my vehicle? I mean I can pull up those same menus on my Acura and Acura and Honda are made the same or whatever? Plz give me some info on this and thank so much

@@WheelsTips well it worked fine when I first got it then the next day I was cleaning it up inside and out and checked out the CD player and I hit eject and the navigation system cd came out and I was like wth so I kept hitting eject and 4 other cds came out also they were just some music cds buy the way. But when I put the navigation cd back in it said can't read the disc which makes no sense bc it was wonderful before it got ejected. Could you please please get back with me ASAP please... Yes Acura wants 5 or 6 hundred dollars to fix it
What year and model is your Acura?
It's a 2007 Acura TL type s 3.5 v6
From my experience have you looked into Google search, DIY: How to fix Navi disk read errors Acura. The first results should give you a forum page that gets into cleaning the unit. Also if your navigation unit is Alpine you can also contact them as they may be able to repair the unit at a certain cost. This is not to say this is you exact issue but I have been successful in the past with both methods, that is just my experience. Looking forward to an updated diagnostics thanks.
