When I hear the song THE LAST LEAF, I ask myself who is the singer, but I can't do it because I'm very young and I live in province, now during the covid-19 pamdamic I found the music again, sad to kmow they were pass away, I miss cascades.
He still can sing and still good at it, but he doesn't sound anymore like that of the original, when he was in his 20's. No matter how many times I try to listen his every song here and compare it with the originals, I can't even tell he's the same guy singing ('though I know he's the same guy). I get it, he just got old.. and so his voice. I've heard some people said that he still sounds the same, but for me, I don't think so. it's far from the angelic voice he once had. But again, don't take me wrong, he is still a good singer and still sings well for his age, unlike some other classic singers I know, which they struggle so hard trying to sing like they used to many years ago, and it's just embarrassing- at some point they should just learn when to stop and live their lives, enjoying their pensions or royalties; they already had their glorious days and at least their songs are still circulating for there are still many people who love listening to classic songs.
Once a singer always a singer. Though, they grow in age they love & always look forward to perform, to sing its in their blood & system . You are not in their position so easy to say to retire. Now I think some passed away in this group. Cascades is a legend .
The original line "so I put it in my locket" ends up changed to "wallet". However, that word really doesn't fit the line. They could have just changed it to "so I put it in my pocket" if they wanted to avoid the "girly" locket.
Thank God, if I remember correctly, that was not the scenario sa Araneta Coliseum. But Nina had seemingly a very long moment before the Cascades had their share, that made the crowd grow tired (of her) and lose patience...

I think the sound of silence song is originally from the cascades band
