Umm. Yes. Hollowwood always gets Paris wrong. Lol.
Another great video, always. So glad that you are making these. Thank you so much for your creativity, insights, and hard work!
Thank you !!
Emily in Paris is a fantasy. It's like Sex and the City. If you keep that in mind, it's a fun show, something to mindlessly watch after a long day, or to mindlessly binge watch on the weekends.
Yes totally ! It's not a realistic show but it's for fun
Very well said Theo. Thank u for sharing your insights n for breaking d cliches about the city of Love , Paris 🙏❤️❤️. Ur vlogs r so meaningful, honest n inspiring , take care n A demain👋👋
Thank you !!
So, essentially Emily in Paris is about Success without much Sacrifice. N this only happens in movies .
anyone who actually visits Paris will soon discover that the cliches are untrue -- but really, all cliches are largely untrue -- as far as apartments, i left nyc to live on a farm where we develop video games and i paint for a living and blog for fun. it's great to see you expanding your content and taking some risks. i've recommended your channel to many who follow me in zoom.
American here 🇺🇸. You are the only person I have heard to take a topic like this on. SUPERB 😁😊. Merci or as we say in Hawaii Mahalo😎🏖️🏄🏼♂️🏄🏼♂️🌴
I'm so happy you loved it ! Thank you !
Hello Theo! Just found you while searching for Butte Charmont! We love your diary-like naration. Do you give tours of Paris? I want us to go with you! My husband and I are makingplans!
I see it as a parody/satire. Watching it is my guilty pleasure. Lol.
Emily's appartment is just a small studio, with the bad wiring (episode with the vibrator). She did not hunt for it, it was arranged by US office (probably paid for as well). I loved how the show played the stereotypes))) Looking forward to season 4.
I think it's coz Emily is a working American deployed in Paris. Americans and some tourists tend to overdress when they are in Paris thinking that fashion and style come with luxury brands, but actually they do not. Parisians have slim bodies and when you do, you wear that certain confidence coz any type of clothing will look good on you.
Its entirely fake except the French actors
Todo es falso menos el Lucas Bravo ❤😊
Not only Emily In Paris stereotypes French people. Look at Rush Hour 3!
Moral of the story, when Americans produce movies and shows they always grossly stereotype and over do dramatically the cultures they try to portray. I'm Australian and most Americans have the most bizarre idea of how we actually live..
It’s entertainment! I watch it to enjoy the views of Paris and the fashion!
Emily’s apartment is likely paid for by her company in USA. Based on her job title she’s probably earning €75-80,000. Remember, her apartment was going to be for her boss who makes a lot more money. No way she can afford the clothes.
I like the show but we know this is a comedy and it exaggerated the stereotypes of the French and also Emily herself. I watch because I love Paris, feel like living there.
Some American UA-camrs were extremely critical of this show, but then some commenters under their videos said they are from Paris and Parisians are not thinking about it that much. Apparently Parisians simply deemed it an escapist fantasy and American fantasies about Paris are nothing new.
I'm glad you shared some light on these topics. I thought French people made a lot of money. I will visit Paris soon.
I'm glad you loved it !
Emily in Paris indeed is a conveyor of stale clichés and stereotypes, as if the French did not live on the same planet and in the same century as the rest of the world. And Paris is neither heaven nor hell; it is a large city with the pros and cons of all large cities worldwide.
I remember when my bf and I watched a comedy show in Paris. There’s the audience participation part and the comedian called on this IT guy (with an American boss) who is Indian. Three years in Paris with little French but he is surviving, I guess? 😅
Since she is the US rep at the French office, maybe she makes US wages and not French wages. Plus in season 1 episode 1, i think the company arranged for and pays for the apartment, which can happen for US employees stationed in an overseas office. But agree that cliches are cring!
Emily in Paris is just kitch/ It isn't eality.People are taking it too seriously.
6:37 Best Part 😂
I don’t think you watched the movie... she’s not a new employee in the company and it’s not a French company and she doesn’t rent the apartment herself…
Didn't like the movie
Silly/Cute Hollywood movies about love are very popular. Are people really believing EMILY?🤭OH well Thx Theo for clearing that up for people. In America young people LIVE for designer clothes shoes watches handbags, (YOLO) this is how "influencers" make money. Not many followers if you don't have a lotta bling. Some YT TT influencers make more $$$ than the average worker so they spend it on big beautiful apps. AND they get SPONSORS/partnership agreements from major corporations, fragrance, fashion houses etc...etc just for "influencing" others to spend their money to buy the stuff.
T or F What about people letting dogs poop everywhere and not picking it up? What about overflowing trash bins and rats"everywhere"? T or F
Try an apartment in Sydney!
I love this show. Remember this show is what an American who has never been to Paris thinks Paris is. Americans have been told that the French are like this show.. They smoke in the office, they drink Champagne at breakfast. They have lovers even though they are married. Its all from an American point of view. So if you look at it from this angle. It makes since.
Yes it makes sense, but it's still so untrue and I think this show should be just seen as a fun show, a fantasy, not a realistic depiction of the Parisian life
@@frenchguytheo Treat this show as an 'eye-candy'. Yes, it's so untrue as you said, but it's harmless anyway. I've never watched this show except for some snippets on UA-cam. I want to learn more about France, and that's why I watch your videos!
It’s an amusing romp, is all.
Yung mga americano katulad ni Emily ay ng punta sa France tungkol sa kwento ay tagumpay pinagpaaralan niya ang French ❤ Ako po ay taga Pilipinas 🇵🇭
everyone mention Emilys apartment how she cant have this as young person bla bla.. the show clearly says, the company she works for got the apartment for her, the big company in USA.. Now this does not make sense later on when she still live there after leaving the company, but thats how she got the aparment. More curious how gabriel lives in the same building then as a chef😅
I prefer Amelie over Emily. 😊
Bonjour Theo
I rather watch Emily enjoying herself with friends and lover(s) in the Canal Saint Martin then to be reminded of the horrible terrorist attacks in that area in 2015. The latter events were true, while the former scenes were creative works of fiction. Hemingway's Paris is long gone; let's enjoy something new and fresh even if they are imaginary...
The one show that made Paris boring. I tried y’all.
