I know nothing of the game, but I always hate hearing stories like this towards the end of the year. Reminds me of Rhythm and Hues, a VFX house, that closed around the holidays the SAME year they were nominated for an Oscar for best VFX.
I agree and the timing feels.. gross. Reports are saying that the sony deal restarted vested stock options and a lot of the people let go had a lot of shares of unvested stocks. Those unvested stocks go back to Bungie's bottom line 😬 To your point, its so sad to see an unprecedented year in gaming only to have industry wide layoffs
This might actually put the final nail in D2's coffin. We've all been waiting and wanting D2 to be over so it can be abandoned and left to people who're either tone deafened or whales. Because now there's gonna be Review Scouts that'll buy FS and report back whether to say "D2 is over, there is no payoff, do not buy, let me tell you the ending so you dont need to buy" or otherwise
Absolutely. I have played thousands of hours. The game has had issues for a year with stability. Also last season was a mess, storyline was just bad. The player base is still there, but there has been a ton of negativity around the franchise. Stuff like this is dangerous.
I totally agree! Ill be really curious to see how much more of a fall off occurs from this mess. Do these decisions by Bungie affect your excitement for Final Shape and continuing to put time into the game?
@@Joystick_Gamer apparently they are keeping all the devs. They have let go of musicians and some crew etc. Maybe because the musicians have made the music etc.. I hope so.
I don't blame them one bit! After a decade of dedication, this all feels like a massive slap in the face and pivoting feels like the only viable move right now for Destiny content creators. Its such a sad time for Bungie
Do you think Bungie is in trouble from the layoffs and delays? Sound off in the comments!

On top of this, major destiny streamers and UA-camrs are playing and marketing other games more and more.
