Founded around 1250 by King Rus' Daniel (Halicki). In the years 1349-1370 as part of the Kingdom of Poland, from 1387 to 1772 again in the Kingdom of Poland and the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, 1918r-1939r Lviv again returned to the Polish borders as Polish City..... It's beautiful! I'm originally from Kiev but Lviv is my favorite. It makes me feel closer to "Western" civilization.
Lviv was in the independent Ukrainian Kingdom of Rus, this city was founded there in 1256 and was occupied since near 1380, not early. Before 1380 there were a constant conflicts, which in result was occupied by Polish Kingdom. The last ruler of Kingdom of Rus was King Danylo I Galytskyi's direct descendant - Dmytro Yuriyovych.

2. Lviv has never been Russian, or even located within Russian territory (excluding the USSR).
3. Lviv has always been a multicultural city of "ethnic groups with different culture and traditions who established separate yet interdependent communities" as stated by UNESCO's article on the city's history.
4. Armenians and jews were a part of Lviv's ethnic identity. Those Armenian Cathedrals and Synagogues didn't build themselves, did they?

Fortunately for them, some countries were less affected by WW2 and and it is difficult for them to be in the shoes of those who were. Particularly difficult for those from places which benefitted from living in a country which ruled a huge empire and could do to others as it wished!

I went to Prague, Bratislava, Budapest, Poland, Vilnius, Estonia they are absolutely beautiful and I would love to visit Moscow and St Petersburge next. 🇬🇧
