What rod and reel where you using, oh and line test. Yes that was a BIG fish. Oh and remember to run the clicker off next time :) Nice video by the way.
42lb at the dock on a Department of Fish and Game spring scale. Registered 40lbs on my berkley digital scale. We've caught plenty of the midrange 25-30lb yellows at catalina as well
I need to say hat I do not understand where the gaff man was the first two pics of the fish finally at the surface, it was not until the third time that finally the gaff appeared,,,,, if that was me I would have most upset especially if the fish got away and there was not even an attempt t to gaff the first two times maybe I am wrong , maybe the gaff guy was not is a good position and had to wait I do not really know all the variables,,, it just seemed to me , like here is the fish once, no gaff , then a second time still no gaff , the on the third time finally the gaff
haha I normally turn the clicker off but when a new guy to fishing is on the rod I keep it on. keeps it from backlashing and I can hear what the reel is doing no matter what I'm focused on. definitely gets annoying when watching it back later though thanks for watching!

Yes it is. Fished with that rod and 2 Seeker Black Classic rods that day
Awesome fish!
Was that trolling?
Ya we trolled the whole day. Haven't been able to buy decent bait for a while now
Ya bait has been shitty for a good while. I work on a boat and it's been bad even for us
Sport boat or a private charter?
