honestly the leak weeks have been nonstop hype for this past couple months but even so i think im the most hype for this chapter than any other in recent times. mc's are almost always my favorite characters.

I think "sukkuna cycle" is a thing because of weekly chapter release. Longer fight like this would be easier to write in longer, monthly chapters. You kind of need some ending point each chapter so that's why it is structured like this. Also I think it's many people's first manga they are reading weekly, because stuff like this is common.
Alot of those issues disappear when you read the whole fight in one go. The chapters really flow together and the whole idea of everyone chipping away at Sukuna hits alot harder.
It doesn't feel like it's dragging on at all when there isn't a break every chapter lol
Thank you! Holy shit! Some of these friends have not ever read or watched any anime, cartoon, manga, or comic ever before. Surprise! Side character 4 isn't beating the main villain! Piccolo isn't beating Frieza, Guy isn't beating Madara, Yuta isn't beating Sukuna. It's kinda almost actually impressive to have such a unique lack of narrative understanding and media literacy. To be so silly, they gotta exclusively consume JJK and only since the Gojo fight and still not understand most of just that part. Then, beyond that, even if they read other things just as a whole, they aren't able to comprehend that they came out weekly or monthly, and not just as one finished and wholey released project.

@@ShmuckLord385 I think by seeing it this way, you missed the points some people are actually trying to make. Sure, some people are annoyed at the showdown because for they read it weekly, but there is also better ways to do a gauntlet without it feeling so repetitive at times, if I have to take an example, just look at the kaido fight in one piece, kaido went through like more than 10 opponents, and it only felt like it was dragging on towards the end, when he was fighting luffy solo before gear 5.
Personally, I think what hurts this fight is the fact that we have been focus on it since Gojo died. We don't have other villains to switch to, or other characters to really see, like MHA had All for One and shigaraki, with the rest of the League of Villians, One piece had Kaido, Big mom, and the rest of the Beast pirates, etc.
Jjk only has one villain, and for a while, he wasn't really showing off anything new, no wonder it felt stale after a while. Maybe if we were cutting back to uraume vs hakari more often, or if kenjaku was still alive, maybe we wouldn't have this problem
I would love if sukuna died off screen and we are just seeing the afterlife scene. Would mean that like Jogo or Gojo got clapped into the afterlife, Sukuna wouldnt had even realized when Yuji killed him lol

While Hiten and the Inverted Spear don’t look exactly the same, my crack theory is that Hiten was a curse tool created by Angel after prolonged usage with her CT, and after Sukuna defeated her, he stole Hiten as his own, thus, making him more powerful since he could now nullify people’s CTs. After Sukuna sealed himself away, they recovered Hiten and over time, it had been broken and turned into the Inverted Spear of Heaven. The name coming from how Hiten was a spear, and “inverted heaven” sounds fitting for the past owner of the weapon, the Fallen One.
Edit: The name “Hiten” means “flying heaven” or “flying celestial beings” which sounds very much in line with Angel’s theme. Also, Hiten looks a lot like Trishul, a spear weapon wielded by Shiva, and although it symbolizes many things, one of those things is destroying/vanquishing evil-which sounds exactly like what Angel does with purging curse spirits and reincarnated sorcerers as she sees them as evil.
No matter if i like the way the story goes or nah, Gege definitely knows how to keep your attention. Seems like im always wanting the next chapter lol.
My only question is what happened to rika? I was genuinely thinking she would break Yuta(Gojo) & Sukuna's domain to kill Sukuna and ruin the entire plan on accident. Tbh i think that would be way better than Sukuna just tanking a hollow Purple in his weakened state

@@adamdaman6784 yes but I would think that she would do something about that. If her true love had really died in her eyes, then she should probably go kill whoever did it. I understand it's a shikigami that the real Rika made to protect Yuta, so that could be the explanation, that now that she believes that Yuta is dead, maybe she doesn't see a purpose to protect him, and instead just, vanished. But I feel like Gege would give us more closure, especially for Yuta, because he probably will die and I want him to see Rika as he passes and tell her he's going with her (which is really sad for me and all the other Yuta/Maki shippers)

She probably can sense yuta's cursed energy but sense no soul/life signs in his body so she's probably conflicted with 2 different things so frozen in place grieving. She probably will do this for eternity unless gege does something about it

I wanna first apologize for my previous question. I kinda overstepped my boundaries, I shouldn't have tried to sorta gouge into your opinions like that. I'll try to keep it strictly story-based with my questions for the future.
Speaking of, I wanna get your thoughts on a story mystery that I don't see being addressed by fans at all. After the iconic "Stand proud" moment with Jogo and Sukuna, Jogo starts tearing up and asks "What is this?" To which Sukuna replies: "Don't ask me. I don't know what that is either."
To this day, I'm still wondering what "that" is. For a while, I thought it was "love". But Sukuna told Kashimo that he already knew about love (or at least he claims to know), so it doesn't make sense for him to tell Jogo that he doesn't know. The anime kinda paints it differently from the manga. In the anime, Sukuna kinda says it sarcastically, which sorta implies that he was lying and that he does know. But he doesn't show any sarcasm in the manga. And in the manga, Sukuna stares curiously at Jogo while he's burning, as if he doesn't know what he's looking at, whereas in the anime they just had him give a blank stare.
What do you think? What was "that"?
I believe they were talking about tears. By definition, curses don’t have emotions. That’s the global understanding in JJK. They are not “people”. Hence, Jogo crying after receiving Sukuna’s blessings is a sign of emotions expressed through the drop of tears. First time happening: “what is this?”

Yuji's version of shrine with the scissor marks looks like "cut & paste" on a computer. I second Yuji having "pasted" Sukuna's soul within himself being a plausible explanation for the train station scene (and that being Yuji's innate domain).
Losing a body part always effected your curse energy. Old man Zenin lost his arm and it was stated due to that he couldn't do anything like he should've against Jogo.

You don't need the Sure Hit Effect, it's supposed to act as armour. A Domain can be shrunk down, a Domain can be moved around. A Domain is almost indestructible from the inside but breakable from the outside. So Reversing it's Polarity, which is also possible will make the outside almost indestructible. So it's literally a perfect armour that also when it comes in contact with the enemy , if we hit them or they hit us, our ability can be in effect.
That would be unexpected if they both died from the domain and megumi was forced to get his redemption and take on the merger with big raga 😂

Gege draw extra eye on sukuna forehead and we missed that detail ?? if sukuna goes north, i wouldn't be shocked if he returned stronger. this volume 25 page looks like it could be hinting to true form sukuna with a third eye emerging, connected to enlightenment. two third eyes are depicted in the avant mv, that hints to gojo's binding vow as well
One of the weirdest tales I’ve seen was some guy saying that like how Sukuna has to revive Yuji inside his innate domain, this is the same but in reverse. Yuji is going to strike a deal with Sukuna that he’ll revive him but only if he activated the merger. The reason being is that he’s been reading Yuji’s book on cursed energy, the soul and her goal to remove cursed energy. After Yuji starts the merger his goal, with Megumi, would be to defeat the merger without having to kill the souls of the people it’s fused with. Then having those souls find bodies again through Yaga’s technique that he told Gakuganji about completely changing the world they inhabit.

What if Haibara showing up was just Nanami remembering him? That's why Haibara didn't talk. And Sukuna showing up and talking, was him taking to the corpse of Jogo and Jogo heard that in the afterlife, Just like Jogo saw Dagon and Hanami but they didn't talk.

Although I know north vs south isn’t answered, it’s possible Gojos question from Geto is answered. Miguel answered in one of the chapters that he was strong because of himself, not his African blood. This is answering Getos question right in front of Gojo so do you think that this was an attempt from Gege to answer the question and allude to Gojo having realized himself?
I'm kinda late, but I'm really hoping this one gets seen. I was thinking about all the ties to Buddhism in this series, and I realised we might be completely wrong about the North & South meaning.
One of the core aspects of Buddhism is Samsara, the cycle of death & rebirth, and the goal of Buddhism is to escape this cycle by achieving enlightenment.
Now, think back to what Nanami says. Head North to start anew, and South to remain who you are.
If we look at it through the lens of Samsara, I think we've been getting it backwards the whole time. If this is the case, going North (starting anew) would be continuing Samsara and being reborn. Going South (remaining who you are) would be achieving enlightenment.
I think Nanami going South also supports this. Think back to his death, and how he saw visions of a beautiful beach. He wasn't upset, or angry, or in tears - he was calm. Completely at peace. He achieved enlightenment.
If this is correct, and Gojo "Going South" (the title of 236) means reaching Nirvana, I think this adds some solid weight to your Bodhisattva theory.
If anybody is going to break a binding vow its going to be Miwa😂.

I saw that Sukuna’s domain hand sign enmaten represents the king of hell Enmaten or Yama who passes judgements to the souls of people who had died, to send them to the appropriate afterworld. He is often depicted to have fierce expression. He is also the protector deity of south direction.
And that is just too perfect not to mention it mentions south 🤔
Kindly give your thoughts on this theory. Might be far fetched but hear me out. Sukuna goes back into Yuji’s body, megumi comes back but in order to defeat Yuji Sukuna (Yukuna) he has to activate the merger to gain the power to defeat Yukuna.

20:22 now that I think of it why did gege put up a live stream event of these fights. Mei mei could've shortened the livestream to their circle of sorcerers only . Since she live streamed it kenjaku could also see the fight. Why did the dumb mei mei live streamed the fight knowing there was a mastermind on the outskirts of the fight? I think she'll betray the sorcerers
When it was shown the flashback of gojo explaining the sure hit of a domain and yujis soul cleave maybe whats going on is after the domain happend and split sukuna and megumi apart and sukuans soul was back in yujis body but yuji right now has control of the full body and talking to sukuna in his innate domain
My theory is that Yuji used domain expansion with added binding vow, sparing Megumi's soul with the cost causing Yuji's soul getting hit along with Sukuna. Which fulfils Yuji's role in the series, dying with Sukuna.
Todo is the main character who already has it all figured out, he's my favorite character by far.
Chainsaw man is so much more frustrating than JJK because the chapters are like half as long so the ‘reading week to week’ phenomena is even worse. That being said it is gas and you should read it.

I think sukuna gained some resistance to jacob's lather by taking wild bite off hana or "angel" wich might mean that canibalism of sorcerers gives some resistance to their CT, because their curse energy mixes with the one that ate them and if you demage yourself with ct it give less demage because it's your own curse energy just like gojo were talking about before he died, and canibalism is not uncommon in in jjk after all sukuna is known to be a canibal, yuta gains copied CT by feeding rika sorcerers body parts I think, and even yuji gained blood manipulation by eating rest of his brothers, now I that think about it, there was a guy who made weapons or some items by using human parts like that sword with moving hand that haruta was using "that guy with miracle CT"
It seems the people complaining about the “Sukuna cycle” or jacobs ladder not working, is because they don’t want a sukuna cycle & they wanted jacobs ladder to kill sukuna, not that it was written badly.
I don’t mind the sukuna cycle, I think it was done right because I want there to be sukuna cycle because I like sukuna. I don’t mind jacobs ladder not working, I think it made sense why it didn’t but also because I didn’t want it to work, I don’t want sukuna to lose to that.

like most people don't care all that much about a manga's writing falling off a bit, or being a bit predictable, tho, I do get his point about sukuna just surviving everything and the chapters cliffhangers just not working anymore a while ago because of him tanking everything, hence why the "sukuna cycle meme" exist.
I don't think gege's writing during this arc has been all of that personally (sukuna being kinda boring, the many fake outs and cliffhangers, Kenjaku in general, etc) and I don't think we are seeing Gojo again, but I still enjoy it, even though I kinda cringe how UA-camrs covering the series glaze Gege's writing like it's absolute perfection and how the manga only has a few minor flaws (which is not true),

wanting someone to be MAD or truely disappointed because they seems chill with the current state of the series despite the criticism is some real twitter user behavior, like you have to be really miserable if you want others to feel this way
Maybe gege let sukuna get a blackflash on todo and recover some CE to be in his peak or what makes his character and showing him in yuji sukuna form which he hated most and felt caged same with gojo in his hidden inventory arc form because he let his friend go and thought he was weak to save riko showing them both in the form they hate the most and see how each one deal with it when they are at their end either by accepting or rejecting it so gojo showing acceptance of his past self and felt satisfied so he probably gone south and now we show sukuna going north

I think Kenjaku plan was using Itadori as a safeguard, a way to keep Sukuna alive but under control. But I don't know 😂.

it's only ~170 chapters so far and most of them are very short; I pretty much caught up in a couple of days
Wait, just a simple question… there are no longer 20 sukuna fingers are there? Because sukuna transformed his 16 fingers within yuuji into 1 pinkie, then ate 3 + his head, so now there are 5 sukuna fingers and one head, arent there?
Final boss fights in all manga are ridiculously long and drawn out, the main villain always gets pushed to the edge, and either regenerates, uses a power they’ve been hiding, or unlocks a new deadly ability/transformation. It’s pretty annoying that people forget this and only notice these tropes with this current Sukuna fight. It’s just how it is and has always been in these types of manga stories.
I’m not bothered by the fight being what it is because Sukuna was being hyped up to be the peak of jujutsu and unstoppable. He got embarrassed at one finger and said he’d kill Gojo and everyone else once he got to full power. He’s keeping that promise and doing what every main manga villain does which is whoop everyone’s ass for 100 chapters till they finally figure out how to beat him.

I wonder if Yuji was more of a failsafe for Sukuna. With kenjaku banking on his latent potential flowing put as he encountered difficulties. Or just a possible vessel to seal sukuna in a worst case scenario for kenjaku.
I think we're looking at the death of what remains of Sukuna in Yuji. Remember they're both under Jacob's Ladder right now.

Yeah, i also don't think Yuji already had the domain, but there is also the possibility of Yuji already having it by imbuing another CT, "Blood Manipulation", and that now is about to use "Shrine" instead.

Nah, Mahoraga is a shikigami with the ability to adapt to all and any phenomena. Also he can't make binding vows since is not completely sentient, he just carries out orders from a second party.
Theoretically if yujikuna, sukuna hein era form, meguna and fully realized yuji were to have a free for all who's taking it
I think it’s meguna purely because of mahoraga but depending on what we see out of yuji and if we ever learn what that trident he had does it could be heian sukuna or yuji

I don’t mind death. But the way he doessome like leaving Nobora in limbo feels disrespectful if he just drops it. Why say she’s not gone yet to never goback. Sadly though Yuji can’t live. To many people died by them not killing Sukuna and him. Even though it wasn’t Yujis fault it could have been avoided. Writing wise he can’t go on living a happy life after all that.
i’m confused as to why people keep comparing this to the Gojo airport scene. there’s nobody there in the train station besides Yuji and Sukina himself. if anything you’d think that Kengaku and either the dead fetus of Sukuna’s twin *or* Yuji’s father would be there.
No one is in Sukuna's death scene becuse Sukuna doesn't care about anyone. Everyone was surrounded by loved ones in the "Afterlife" scenes, and Sukuna has no loved ones
@@timtam4596 Toji was is Gojo’s afterlife. He didn’t love him. You could say that Gojo respected Toji but he’s not a loved one. But even more proof is that Gojo isn’t in Sukuna’s “death” scene even though Sukuna respects Gojo and he also respects Uraume so if Sukuna’s was dying we would at least see those two.
@@user-ds5fb8kx1o Uraume isn't present, or dead yet, so it wouldn't make sense for Uraume to be there. Gojo being there would make sense, unless that Jacob's Ladder did make some window for a Gojo return and he's in a limbo state at the moment. Or maybe it's because Gojo hasn't left the terminal yet, as we don't know when exactly those shots of the empty terminal are from, since they aren't in the manga itself.
Though all this is assuming this actually is an afterlife scene. For my money this is Yuji's domain. If Sukuna were dead, it would make sense for him to be in his Heian form. The only time we've seen Sukuna as Yujikuna is when he's in control of Yuji, and inside of innate domains, so I'm thinking we're still in the Domain, and Sukuna and Megumi have just been split. So I do agree with you that this probably isn't an afterlife scene, just wanted to touch on the points you made

I never understood the whole Gojo is coming back theory I thought that was stupid because being sliced in half is INSTANT DEATH! He wasn't like Youta who got caught by Rika and held together with curse energy.. I always thought that was the dumbest JJK theory in the community. So Youta or Kenjaku taking over his body made more sense no one has soul retrieving techniques after a person dies in JJK lol.
