A band called Signal did this song, Erik Scott and a guy Mark Baker wrote this, Mark Free the singer from King Cobra, Erik Bass, Jan Uvena drums, both from Alice Cooper and Danny Jacob guitar made up the band Signal on EMI label, it’s a really good album. Here's the link to Signal's version. ua-cam.com/video/oL6KseyNMyo/v-deo.htmlsi=JDz6ch4ZjfhSzSAt
Awesome awesome album, this is one of many great songs .....never say never my favorite song but every one of these songs are great.....triumph forever...
I wish I were born in the 60s, so I could listen to all these great bands from the 70s and 80s, when music industry was about music not making money. My dad is such a lucky guy to see some of these bands live!
What a kickass song! This maybe the one track that perhaps made me a fan of these guys though i've never heard their music before. It bleeds the 80's best melodic rock that was the signature mark of that awesome decade.
Yeah. Triumph ended there. They released Edge of Excess in '92, but it didn't have much incommon with Triumph and the songs were weak. Rik Emmet made 2 albums (Absolutley and Ipso Facto) that had some gems on them, but afterwards I lost sight of him.
In my humble opnion it's just a matter of taste. You have used the word "like" correctly. To me this is Triumph best song of their best album. Or should I say the song I like the most of the album I like the most ;)
Actually, it makes perfect sense. It's a matter of taste like I said before. For instance: your favorite sportsteam is probably not the best in its field of sport, but they are your favorite. Why? Because you like them the most ;)
I hope you understand more what I mean. You simple can not discuss taste, because it's very personal. What one likes or dislikes is almost impossible to explain. English is indeed not my first language, but thank you for your respect. Actually, I can speak five languages ;)
Just an observation here:This could easily have been a Mark/Marcie Free track. In fact it reminds of a certain track from the album he made with the Signals band. If Rick Emmet's vocals were a bit more exaggerated here (in the 80s sense) it would be hard to distinguish the two singers Awesome music by awesome artists in the most awesome decade of the 20th century.
Just another observation. The track that you say (Signal - Go) is the same with different lyrics. And that is because was written by a bloke called Mark Baker. And for me, and I LOVE TRIUMPH, but Mark Free is THE VOICE. Cheers, mate!
Gil has a rockin voice I wished he were making some solo stuff after Triumph but never did except that tiumph album without Rik which songs sucked I thought
That does not make sense- Penny Lane is better but you like 'running in the Night ' more? Understand if english is not your first language. Respect actually, cos I cant speak two languages!
I heard this on Radio two's Ken Bruce show. I thought it was VERY Ken Bruce: - Bland, predictable, forgetable, boring, uninspired and style over content. Very Bob Segar/America. Sounds like the sort of song Vic and Bob would perfom on Reeves and Mortimer.. I'm not a troll-I'm really amazed that people like this stuff. I dont want to offend, just discuss.
Triumph made a great transition from an incredible classic rock band to an awesome 80s AOR band. This is my favorite album
Amazing singer,,,goosebumps
Gil was an amazing singer as well. Two power vocalists in one band - they were one of a kind for sure.
Still one of the best drummer vocalists!
The most beautiful song I have ever heard back then and still is🙌🙌🙌🙌pure MAGIC

One of the best song i ever heard. Beauitiful voice, The drummer sings on this song.

+Grumpy_Palpatine it was all about money back then too, but real musicians could sneak by the studio suits...
The best of AOR!! Triumph, you rock 👍👍👍😍😍😍😍
BEST SINGING DRUMMER OF ALL TIME IMO
I can say the same thing about Kelly Keagy from Night Ranger!
Eric Martin has a great voice.
What a kickass song! This maybe the one track that perhaps made me a fan of these guys though i've never heard their music before. It bleeds the 80's best melodic rock that was the signature mark of that awesome decade.

I always feel a bit sad when I hear this song, the last one from the last album with Rik

1000000 d 100000000000000 Running In The Night / Go - Triumph / Signal
Whit the brothers emmets and😎 phill x be good a great band 😎
I prefer Signal's Go, but this is pretty cool. It's like a less polished version of Go. Songwriter Mark Baker was the connection.
Not Emmet singing. Gil Moore is.
@@EduardoTeixeira1970 it's Gilson voice, not Rics. Both had excellent voices.
Just another observation. The track that you say (Signal - Go) is the same with different lyrics. And that is because was written by a bloke called Mark Baker. And for me, and I LOVE TRIUMPH, but Mark Free is THE VOICE. Cheers, mate!
This is Gil Moore..not Emmett
Perfomance ( Signal- Go ) is better as for me.
Gil has a rockin voice I wished he were making some solo stuff after Triumph but never did except that tiumph album without Rik which songs sucked I thought
Signal’s version in my opinion is better, but both are good in their own way. Two great bands though.
I totally agree...signal was one of the better bands that no one's ever heard of..my favorite song from them is wake up You little fool😍
ROCK DRUMMER.....DON'T WANT TO T OFF ANY KAREN CARPENTER FANS :)
This is ok, no where near as good as Signal's version though.
idiot
+Zeph Gruis Erm...why?
+Ben55607 Signal's Go is cover and released two years after Surveillance
Interesting! Obviously written by the same person though!
True....but I didn't say it was a cover version!
Do you think its better than, say, 'Penny Lane' by the Beatles? I'm fascinated with subjective taste now!
That does not make sense- Penny Lane is better but you like 'running in the Night ' more? Understand if english is not your first language. Respect actually, cos I cant speak two languages!

I'm not a troll-I'm really amazed that people like this stuff. I dont want to offend, just discuss.
Nope, "Penny Lane" is better, but I like this song much and much more...
where does one draw the line? Can we argue that black is white to me but black to you?
anyway, 5 langs is brilliant!
I give this song 2/10.
