The Bounty Hole comp had upwards of 20 entries, so it made for a cool show seeing a wide variety of trucks attempting to pull the hole. 1st/2nd/3rd payouts were made on time and/or distance. Shawn Goodeaux drew the lucky #1 position and was able to take advantage of the virgin mud and virtually skim the pit in his 540 BBC Warrior truck.

5:38 sunk right in with those pizza cutters lol
Differential lock people!
make all them big wheels work!!
Why would you go through all this trouble and not have them ....idiotic at best ..
I see these comments all the time and people say they don’t have a diff lock because of “turning ability” they claim it’s harder to turn with a locked diff. But if you think about it they are going in a straight line so what does “turning” have to do with it lol 😂
Good grief after that first runner went through I thought he sure made that look easy, then nobody else made it further than 40 ft. First run was impressive as heck!
2 key words the guys need to here: HORSEPOWER, LOCKERS!!!!
That's two words you don't have.
thats cute, chevyFAGboy296, what are you 12??? you dont have to be a genius to know that huge tires are WORTHLESS with out the power to turn them!!! and in mud like that you might as well stay home if you dont have lockers!!
Awesome video. Would like to see these trucks up north in the snow.
that would have at least no problem with some of them believe me I lived in Wyoming for 3years
do these guys know what a locker is?
That right there is some good thick mud.
im gonna build a mud truck with 1 wheel drive!!!! makes it more of a challenge!!! also takes less hp :)
Man them bounty holes aint no joke! Guess if it were easy everybody would be doing it eh! another great vid bro!
So many of these big trucks seem to have an open diff in the front and have one front tire spinning like mad and other just along for the ride....I don't get why you wouldn't put an air locker or something up front.
i agree 100%. its almost painful to watch.
Some people like to actually steer their trucks, because not all of them are hydro-assist.
Zackery Young I'd wager most, if not all of the trucks in this video are full hydro, not just assist. A front/rear locker should be tops on their list of mods. If full hydro is required to make it happen, so be it. Regardless, someone may make a selectable locker for Rockwells, if not a regular locker would still be considered mandatory in my book.
+snoman1973
You're more likely to break something with everything locked.
+Chris Daniels Well, of course there's increased risk of snapping an axle with a locker. I guess it just depends on whether you want traction or not...
I saw that black Chevy Silverado named "Red`s" on the tv show "Shipping Wars"!!!!!
1:06 - apparently 90% of them aren't capable of figuring out that once the diffs are buried, they aren't going anywhere.
haha the winner was almost the only truck with lockers
It was about 2 ft. too deep for any of these trucks, Put in a 16" deep pit for the bogger class and 24" pit for the 60" inch tractor tire. Build a 600-800hp engine with a powerglide tranny and weld your front and rears, so you actually have 4 wheel drive. the only thing 4 wheeler about them is having 4 wheels
I would rather have 40s that I could spin the hell out of instead of 50 inch plus tire that I couldn't even turn over in 2 feet of mud
The boat anchor pass...
if you have put that much money into a mud truck and it is used strickly for mud why the fuck don't you have a locker in the front and rear or atleast weld up the spider gears
These guys are spending 10s of thousands on these trucks it costs only a fee hundred to build a tranny and your drivrshaft would be fine the only thing that could be harmed is axel shafts pinions and u joints and really with how high these are lifted then u joins should already be toast after every day. Thing is they put all this money onto these rigs and pay money to get into the event yet lose because their rig is all wrong and a little effort towards traction and not power would make these pop out on the other aide run after run.
Garrett Morgan once these tires get all caked up with mud and clay and shit if you dont have the power to turn them you aint goin no where. but i mean you are right they can lincoln lock their trucks for dirt cheap. but if you're burried to your axles you also aint goin no where, traction isnt really everything
You would think too with all that money they would build a bigger more powerful motor to turn those tires. Lots of those trucks were way to under powered with the size of tires they had.
they arent the brightness people
armchair quarterbacks are some funny fuckers
air lockers work great for turning
That is an awesome mud pit. God like trucks as well.
LOVE FOR THE ELCAMINO ITS MEH FAV CAR/TRUCK!!
So much power just floats across the top
Love the title - Bounty Hole -getting into one soon .....
That hole got nasty but the best truck there was the one with the Superior traction tires.
The Ford never even made it in the hole. Can’t say that I am surprised.
who t f would even try this with open diff , seriously
Warrior doin work!!!
seeing them get pulled out is almost as cool as watching them get stuck
@11:34 That excavator shoud have been boomed up. I think he was tryin to break that truck. I keep a 4 foot 2x6 in my bed so I can pick the axle out of the bog. Wedge it so it lift's the tow point and you can get it out.
My thoughts too, seemed like he was keeping it low and keeping that guys back end down. I was waiting for something to break for sure.
Yep, that guy is a F'n idiot!
That looks awesome
If they had the formula the other way around ie. small, light and nimble cars, like the suzuki samurai/jimmy with supporting modifications, would that make it somewhat better at crossing these kind of terrain?
now thats a real bounty hole!
Crazy mud hole!!!
No truck could go all the way thru it, except Bigfoot 5
That's why they call him King of the Monster Trucks.
bud where r all ur mudding videos u got me hooked on them an I haven't seen none at all
What happened to that blue Ford at the start? Fuel issue?
Half these trucks just don't have the wheelspin and bog down the moment they hit the goo it seems.
Excellent intro
What are your guys thoughts on my tiny truck version of Bounty Hole
What kills me is how long they just sit there pedal to the floor, going no where.
The problem I see with most of the truck is the lack of lockers a 3 wheel drive tends not to be as bad as 4x4
Why no lockers??
50 people got stuck in the mud.
makes the competition harder
Good work!
Maniacal Offroad thanks 😉
damn hole caught him at the end.was he the only one to make it through
11:04 no no LOL funny shit
Most people don't run lockers in our trucks these size because you can't steer it. Hard enough as is with anything over a 50" tire
Where is Bounty Hole? Because that black truck that says Reds on the sides is from a restaurant around here. They have a tracked truck also.
Maybe a stupid question. But what are those turning things on the front axle ? And i do not mean the tires.
Brakes
That truck at 5:45 with the skinny ass tires? Does that even work.. You'd think it would slice into the mud and not be able to grab any traction
Question here.. Why on all these mudding videos do most of these trucks not have lockers?
Well if you put one in the front, it will severely affect handing, but I have a feeling that wouldn't matter with most of these trucks, so my guess is, it's the ''I have big tires so I can handle anything'' mentality.
Eric Fixalot If they just put in an ARB air locker... Best of both worlds..
tommy23490 True but do they make those for Rockwell 2.5 ton axles?
Yes they do..
I guess I could have just googled that but whatever. It would be perfect, but maybe they don't know that they need one or it could be a budget thing.
Leave it to a ford to die before it even hits the hole
kevin gasper the funny thing is Ford is the longest lasting and built the toughest so you gonna talk shit do tug o war with a Ford and you will loose so badly unless you have a Ford
Are all these trucks geared too low for the track, or is the track too deep?
Diesels are for WORK ,Gas is for FUN and oh ya WINNING.......
I'd like to know how much power the truck that made it through makes. I was surprised how many of these trucks seem to be very low on power. Need some china turbos in their lives. LS, 351w, BBC, BBF with a turbo will kick out the power and won't break the bank...
Okay... I have to question some of these... a lot of them seem to lack the power to spin the wheels enough to clean them... and some barely have the umph to spin all four at all! I mean, some of these look like they are even open differentials... what gives?
case in point, the orange one at 3:30 - once it got dug in, it wasn't even able to turn the wheels... and the white Ugly Betty @ 3:50 looked like it may have made it if it could have kept both front wheels spinning... the passenger side front was all but dead weight.
Brian Collins, Jr Though the truck at the 11:50 mark... I do have to give props to... when you get so dug in it takes an excavator to drag you out... that's pretty cool
Brian Collins, Jr The ones that went it an wernt able to spin probably destroyed transmission. Clutch if manual, torque convertor if auto. The ones that get in and front wheels stop spinning and they let off right away probably drive shaft
totally agree brotha
i agree my 12v cummins is barley modded and i still got the power to sling mud 20ft or so with 37s witch isnt awsome but it works
5:46 DAAAAYUUUUUM
that duramax was swimmin
A couple of people did have lockers, Ugly Betty for instance did have lockers.
if i only had a locker.......dam im to cheap ill just keep getting stuck in swallow pits
Damn planetary truck just screwed everyone lol
are mud dragsters allowed or just mud trucks ? that would be so easy with a 3000hp mud dragster!
not rally unlessbyou have a bigger run at it witch they ain't going to
they all got rockwells and tractor tires. it seems if u got very skinny tires with shovels for tread and an unlimited hp engine, you will win
just imagine a 2wd ranger going through it at the end
not a single guy running portal axles>??? and ONLY the "reds" black chevy locked up front? if you're dragging pumpkin, you're gonna have a bad day.....
What's the typical bounty on one of these holes?
Does anyone know where this is at ?
Those tires!
Hole got nasty after a couple runs. Guy who made it tried again and got buried.
yall seriously need a front diff locker
That ford halfton has some serious HP, any idea the engine in it? modular V8?
im pretty sure its a bbc.. people don't like to use ford motors to much money.. modular v8 are hard to find parts.. to build them up well it is for me.. tried to build a 5.4 stroker no luck on that
Well im sure you can get a stroker kit, has to be one out there! but GM's plug and play LS engine are bad ass, many many transmission combo's, EASY to work on, anyone can replace a cam, on a ford its a fucking pain...
that hole did some damage to some automatic transmissions ....with a mud truck like that a manual is the only way to go
I dont get why they all dont have welded diffs, solid rears, or lockers?
id like to see dennis andersons king sling hit this hole 1400 plus hp and a heavy foot should be a good show
Not one thought if a locked front diff
a high hp small block is what you need for mudding they can rev very high so with the high hp and low gears youll be able to turn the big tires effectively what most people dont understand is you do not need the torque of a diesel thats why i have never understood the diesel mudding thing theyre made for towing not mudding
Low gears don't clean tires. Sure a small block will turn big tires but not fast enough to throw mud off of them. A diesel has enough torque to spin tires in a higher gear which will result in spinning the tires fast enough to keep them clean.
None of the diesels in this video were spinning the tires fast enough to keep em clean bud
I wasn't referring to any of the trucks in this video kid.
I aint your kid and you have no idea who youre talking to bud
Anybody who knows what they are talking about puts a big block or a diesel in their mud truck. Do you need a basic physics lesson?
The first truck and the last one are the same and the only reason he didn’t make it the second time is cuz the rest of the trucks made a huge hole under the mud that he just sank into
8:40 how old is that kid why is he walking around holding a beer
The transmission in the white pos Ford, with the green rims, couldn't stand the power of the Chevy engine.
Yet the only truck to make it thru the hole was a Ford...Lmao.
+Caleb Smithwick
Built Ford tough with Chevy stuff...LMAO@U...Watch The Soggy Bottom Hole, if you want to see some REAL Chevy power...green Monster Energy truck.
Kinda funny how you say that....only because i see alot more chevy trucks fail this bog than any other make....talk all the shit you want but its clearly obvious.
skinny tires and speed oh and go first so the bogs fresh and not chewed up underneath
did anybody see that rabbit run across the mud pit
why they wouldn't lock their diffs is beyond me more than how many attempt it. if you're gonna spend a lot of money on a truck built for one purpose, do it properly or dont do it at all
if it did it isn't working , sure looked like the right front tire was not turning to me
i'd like to know why nobody has lockers in the front,if that was the case, lots of them would've went farther i think
it amazes me all that mony and most of them don't have lockers
a wheel that does not drive its self is dead weight!
that 1st truck made it because the mud wasnt soupy yet did you also watch that same 1st truck not go even a quarter way his last run
Ok some did but not enough power or wrong gear ratio to turn the tires fast enough
so many trucks with open diffs...why even bother. Fun to watch though!
More gear!
What makes people think that 2" wide tractor tires can get them out of the mud? all they do is sink and barely throw mud.. also have any of these people heard of a diff lock, it would help a lot.
you dont relize how many things you would break when u throw a dif lock on with 50+ inch tires do you? lol, dif lock + 50+ inch tires = broken shit, believe me,
do you have Any idea on how much traction a tracter like that six can get plus it's not always that somtimes use there dozer if it is too stuck
surely it doesn't take a tractor and a trackhoe, if that massive tractor cant get u out you got a serious prob.
Bigfoot 5 made that mud before
bah. could have made it through that in my camry.
Seriously though, I want to see how that tractor goes though this shit...
So low on power they can't even get muddy
So.. all these hotrods..all get stuck.. WHY don't they turn the tread around on the tires? I'm no 4x4 expert, but that direction of tread only brings IN the mud.. not sling it out..oh, btw.. before you BASH on me.. done it.. and it worked.. WELL!!
Spinning all 4 us MUCH more important than crappy steering in the mud. Any offroad truck is a pile of waste without lockers f/r.
10:45. u serious?! LOL Built ford tough...
Is there anyone even measuring how far they go or do they all just stand there to watch trucks get stuck.
Bounty hole means you make it or ya don't, brother.
Yeah but nobody made it. Only one truck and that was the first 10 sec.
Nate Karg The first truck made it, but nobody made it. How the fuck much sense does that make?!? He damn sure claimed the bounty cash from that hole!
GO TROLL SOMEWHERE ELSE

lockers?
