Fern, I just joined a few weeks ago and you’re so comfortable. I struggle to watch youtube of people because I’m autistic and you are always so chill and comfy. Dying my hair rn and looking for something to listen to and I’m so happy you posted!
Girrrrll we see you pumpin' out the content!! Amazing! Still have yesterday's to catch up on and now ANOTHER! I sometimes save them for the perfect cozy time and don't want to be without but now I feel behind and I know it's better to watch sooner! Get it 💃🌿💚
LPT Get a set of tin snips if you find yourself cutting hardware cloth on a regular basis. They cut through it like scissors through paper and save you lots of time, pain, and frustration.
Oooo Fern, I bet you could set her on one of the Rousseau wooden pole stands, and secure the mesh to the pole. That may add even more sturdiness, and also make it easier to move her around.
10:38 Omggg olive!!! She does not like what’s going on here. 😂😂😂 I caught her before you started to zoom in! I also think that as the begonia grows and faces the light, you can slowly clip the vines to the mesh and remove the twine! ❤❤ great idea! I’ve been toying with the thought of poles without moss. I noticed Melissa doing that with bigger plants like monstera, using the clear poles and strapping the vines inside the it out moss.
Whoa this plant is like a beast. If it ever needs a bigger pot it might be cool to get it one of those metal obelisk trellis where she could be in the center and get supported on all sides. With all her arms it could be a cool look that might be a investment though in supplies. I love the couch pooch overlooking you guys progress lol. 🪴🐕100% a new look for her.
Thank you so much! Sometimes trellises can only go so tall unless you attach them to a wall and I'm a renter. This would take care of the width and not be so top heavy. I suspect I will be trying this in the next year or so.
Absolutely yes. Looking forward to the update video when the leaves adjust themselves. 🎉 Also, do you have a video on what looks like a veggie light tower in the beginning of your video?
My Lady Vanderbilt begonia does soo well in pon. I just upgraded all of my pons in self watering pots to the next 9 inch size. Do whatever works for your plants is what I say 👍.
For wooden stakes in semihydro, I saw somebody usong some kind of plastic sleeves that you put on the stakes like socks and heat-treat them to shrink. He got the sleeves in a hardware store but I don't remember what they are normally used for
Your bf seems very sweet. I liked this video because plants get hard to handle when they are all spread out like that and it fits so much better in the home when you can use a trellis or support to use more vertical space.
A good idea! but I'm thinking it's might've been easier to bend the mesh a little bit before putting it in the pot. Maybe that's why it cracked from the tension 🤷♀️. Hopefully it works out though! Cutie Olive wondering what's going on lol😄❤️
I took quite a long break from plant content when I got in a funk caring for my collection. I come back and you have a new house, new man, new hair, and more plants. I missed an entire chapter. Now I need to binge and catch up 😊
Your MM is a beast. Could you use bamboo skewers threaded through the wire mesh, maybe 4" apart, to create a horizontal grid to hold her in? I love that you wore a b.listada Tee, Fern!
Holy Moly Fern that is one huge Begonia! Mine is not quite that big yet, but it’s on its way. I used two 18 inch trellises currently and it looks cool; however, they’re going to need to be removed and changed in the next 6 months most likely. Thanks for the idea! Your the bomb digity girlfriend ❤
First. Olive watching in the background , concerned! Two: I love how your bf uses the plant’s pronouns “secure her, honey” 😂 three: Fern if you see this could you be so kind as to tell me what size tattoo planter you put your Hoya into in the last video ??
I’m amazed by these difficult humidity loving begonias you are growing in your northwest west coast home! How are you doing it? Are all of them in self watering like the listada? (I’m thinking now of the Paulensis) What are your temps and humidity? Do you have humidifiers everywhere? I’m in the northeast US and it’s getting dry and what few non thriving begonias I have are just existing…barely. And they’re not ones that needs tons of humidity. Please, please, share your secrets!!
Your baby looks just like my begonia grey feather looked a couple months ago. I just chopped mine lol. I did buy wire mesh recently and was gonna make wire cages for my Hoyas… I think I’m gonna do for my begonia what you did for yours
fern, have you ever thought about leaving a begonia to trail? i curently have 2 maculatas, one of them has really really big leaves so i trellis it, but the other has smaller leaves and i'm just now starting to let it just grow wild and see how it would look trailing lol i love the idea, but idk, haven't seen many people with trailing begonias, so maybe it's a bad idea for a reason unbeknownst to me? still gonna try tho
Hi Fern, great idea! Just wondering why you don’t cut the mesh straight after a square? Then you’ll only have one side of the mesh to bend over or cut for each piece. If you get it close enough it shouldn’t be too sharp.
i started carrying my planters to the shower :P i think it's theraputic to soak them in the sink/shower first year growing plants so i dont have many yet :P "yet"
She talked in her last Q&A (one month ago) about her jewelry and where she get it;) didn’t remember the name of the brand but I remember she answered it:)
I’m sitting here while my plastic pole. It comes rolled up the opposite way that I need to be to turn into a moss pole won’t order this kind again if I ever need yo buy poles again. But I was on Amazon and they’re thiccly sold out.amd I’m finally getting up enough nerve to repot my four foot monstera. And add an extension to the too top of the moss pole that grew out.
I love how your bf was also referring to the plant as 'her' and not 'it' 😄
I thought the same thing
“Secure it hunny” took me out for some reason 😂
LMAO
Me too. I thought aw how sweet 😊
Fern, I just joined a few weeks ago and you’re so comfortable. I struggle to watch youtube of people because I’m autistic and you are always so chill and comfy. Dying my hair rn and looking for something to listen to and I’m so happy you posted!
Hi and welcome 🤗 thank you for watching! Hope your hair turns out awesome 💖
if you don't follow already, highly recommend her vlog channel!! honestly my fave, and so so comfy and cozy!
Fellow autistic bean over here, seconding Fern’s comfy vibes ✋😂
Oh-em-gee...Olive perched on the sofa armrest watching intently, trying to figure out what mommy and daddy are doing 😂🥰 Love her!
“This is how the house gets so dirty” hahahahaha too relatable 😂 my boyfriend always walks in on my chaos

Close up of Olive! She's so cute and funny. Was she wanting Shane's attention? I hope he's feeling better. The begonia looks great! 💚✨🐾
Yes hahah she’s obsessed with him and since he just got home she wanted to see him 😆
@@wildfern that little yelp. Lol I can tell she loves him. How cute. 🥰
Gosh golly gee willickers! I’m SUPER THANKFUL for you 😚
"How did the house get all dirty?" LOL 😂😂😂 Olive was very intent on what was happening. Looks ssooo good Fern 👌🎉
Our queen blessing us during depression hour in the US ✨
Wish it was only an hour instead of 4 years.
10:52 omggg olive looks so cute i love her!!! 🥺🫶🏽

Great idea. That’s going to look amazing. I’m curious how it would look with a square pot and wire mesh.
I see the vision ❤❤
Love Olive in the background ❤. So cute 😊

I swear I just saw Olive giving you the side eye 😂 You timed that perfectly with your boyfriend getting home too 🧡🌿
what a brilliant idea. I think she looks great.
Love the end result! Looks a lot neater than before 😊
She look sooo beautiful 😍 Such a great idea and a great way to use up that nuisance wire mush, I’m so going to do this.
I think it will end up looking great! Your boyfriend was a good sport helping you 🙂. Olive is adorable!
Great idea, looking forward to seeing her once settled 😊 Very cute close up of Olive 🥰
haha love Shane's participation in this vid ❤
I’m so glad you tried this! Have had this idea too, so now I know what to expect🤩
My begônia listada died so fast… and I live in Brazil, tropical climate. And yours are gorgeous! Congrats!
Thank you so much! Sometimes trellises can only go so tall unless you attach them to a wall and I'm a renter. This would take care of the width and not be so top heavy. I suspect I will be trying this in the next year or so.
What a great idea! I have the regular listada that I love but it's a struggle keeping it looking nice! Thanks for the inspiration! 💚
What a BRILLIANT idea Fern!!!! I'm gonna do the same with my cane begonia....thanks for the idea and I look forward to seeing the update 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🐶🐶🪴🪴
Girl that esqueleto leaf behind you at the start 🤩 It’s getting huge!! (loving the video so far, I just paused to comment this lol)
Absolutely yes. Looking forward to the update video when the leaves adjust themselves. 🎉
Also, do you have a video on what looks like a veggie light tower in the beginning of your video?
I just love that plant how do you get them so big good video I hope your hands get better ❤️🩹 have a fantastic bless week
It is going to look so good!
You are so creative!!
My Lady Vanderbilt begonia does soo well in pon. I just upgraded all of my pons in self watering pots to the next 9 inch size. Do whatever works for your plants is what I say 👍.
I feel I need to do this to myself to fix my posture sometimes 🤣 Once her leaves adjust, its gonna be a big beautiful plant
This is so smart!!!
I ❤ it! God she’s a beast, thank god you have a helper!
Bask in all the Planty Content!! FERN!!
ANOTHER new upload you're spoiling us 😍

I always appreciate that you pay attention to the cameras perspective ;* I love your videos
Such a creative solution! I’m thinking you could zip tie on another section of wire to the top if she gets too tall for this one as well
Fern is keeping us FED!
🍽️
Great idea Fern! I'm going to do this with my syngonium!
I think it looks fantastic Fern. Wonderful idea.
Great tip 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Olive just voicing her opinion in the background 😂❤
I took quite a long break from plant content when I got in a funk caring for my collection. I come back and you have a new house, new man, new hair, and more plants. I missed an entire chapter. Now I need to binge and catch up 😊
I hate staking up plants with bamboo or wood sticks! What a smart solution. Excited to see how it fares.
Happy Saturday 🥰
Happy Saturday!! 💖
Your MM is a beast. Could you use bamboo skewers threaded through the wire mesh, maybe 4" apart, to create a horizontal grid to hold her in? I love that you wore a b.listada Tee, Fern!
Fantastic idea
I love this idea. I'm wondering how you'll be able to see the self-watering gauge though.

Yes! What a great idea! Lol & Olive's cameo 😂...at first I was like, what is she zooming in on. .
Very nice the end result 🎉Beautiful big plant 🪴😍
I’m so glad it worked well! Experimenting is one of my favorite things, its so interesting how everyone comes up with new ideas.
Красивая бегония, и опора в виде проволочной сетки сюда действительно подходит больше привычных тотемов. Со временем станет только лучше.
Great job trellising! I’m definitely going to be doing this with some of my houseplants 💖
Awesome, so glad to hear it! :)

No it looks amazing! You did a great job 👏🏽
Looks so good what a good use of the wire!!
That worked out pretty well. I'm going to try it. It looks like a pain in the u-know-what though. 😁
I love it, can't wait to see the updates on her
Fern it looks like a great support 👍🇨🇦
You may wonder why I’m here, watching another Fern video instead of doing literally anything I’m supposed to be doing…

I was considering doing this with my syngonium batik. I will watch and see how this goes for you. 😂😂
Grand merci à UA-cam de nous offrir la traduction simultanée ! Mes progrès en anglais peuvent attendre 😉 🍀
Et bonne idée pour le bégonia !
I like it now that it’s facing me. I don’t think I’d want the back to me though, so hopefully you can enjoy the front!
Your baby looks just like my begonia grey feather looked a couple months ago. I just chopped mine lol. I did buy wire mesh recently and was gonna make wire cages for my Hoyas… I think I’m gonna do for my begonia what you did for yours

I've given up on moss poles completely now, could never keep up with the watering. Also love you're jewelry where do you get it?
She talked in her last Q&A (one month ago) about her jewelry and where she get it;) didn’t remember the name of the brand but I remember she answered it:)
@@charlottp.3628 legend I'll have a look thanks
Ooohhh I should try this!
Not the Olive stink eye! 🤣😂🤣😂
Beautiful 🤩
