Honest feedback for Josh: When great discussion topics are happening, it can be annoying when you have a pattern for shortening them and cutting it off. The small comments about always moving on are getting noticeable. Have patience - we don't mind a longer podcast!
Matt doesn't even know who Swiss is, yet he's the moral authority of the disc golf news because he's been playing for 17 years. That's why I stopped watching this channel.
Good luck going to a shoe or sunglasses company telling them you’re the 50th best player in the world at a sport they have never heard of and expecting a monthly salary lmao
This is the best single podcast in disc golf history. If you don’t have more of these ‘open’ discussions about the ins-and-outs of DG, it will be a shame.
To Matt's terrible take, Simon wouldn't have gotten that deal or close to as big without Paul's first being revealed to the public. Same came be said about Ricky and everyone else that changed after Paul. And also about fpo player of the year "the people voted" like you said and the players and the media both votes for Kristen yet the dgpt awarded it to Missy...saying the people voted was just plain misleading and taking away from the fact that the dgpt just does what they want.
I swear nick has to be related to Nate heinhold or something, no hate but why do all of your opinions seem to match that of the manufacturers CEOs? Saying players aren’t worth more money because they aren’t on professional athlete regiments but how can they be if, like you also say, they need to be creative and do all these other things to make money? Also on the contract changes claiming Paul’s was bigger than KC but then saying Paul’s was better than Simon’s based on previous accolades? Self contradictory 🤣 And then talking about how much disc prices would go up if players got paid more…. They already go up, they don’t see much on those disc sales unless they bend them themselves. Let’s talk about ROI - these turning players are FORCED to sell their discs to make ends meet and who do you think they buy them from? They aren’t gifts from the manufacturer they are earning on every piece of plastic
Have to say I lost a lot of respect for Nick here. You have a Disc Golf podcast you run a disc golf course, but you apparently think that professional disc golfers are the laziest most overpaid people you know. I kind of feel like it’s coming from some source of anger. It just didn’t add up when the angle would change on the conversation and you would still land on disc golfers are crybabies.
Seriously, just listening to Josh make the point about how the tour is losing talent because the pay is unlivable. And that’s what’s been fun, seeing the talent explode. The level rises with value to compete and as he saying that, then you switch to how there’s players that make money that don’t even love it and they do it just because it’s a way to make some money. Again, even from this other angle, it’s like you just have some weird hate on any disc golfer that’s not a top five disc golfer. What’s that coming from?

This is a great episode. Loved the back and forth on the state of the tour !
Jefferson and Swiss are awesome and SO stoked to see him as a guest.

I have my own backyard course in Texas. The amount of work is crazy. We host an A tier. The Mint Discs Open. The Ranch DGC on Udisc.
The best crew in disc golf

Competing tours would help, not hurt, disc golf

C'mon Ben at least hide the Pikachu pillow when live streaming.
