You could literally see a frame from a Giant Squid game and tell it's from them. Even when it's just all sand in the middle of a desert. That's talent.
Well, I saw a frame from this and thought it was That Game Company.

@@grafficacma For all intents and purposes, they're the same company. Basically everyone that worked at That Game Company moved to Giant Squid after Journey wrapped up. Artists, techs, composer... Even Jenova Chen, the director who stayed behind at TGC, helped out on Giant Squid's Abzu.
I didn't love Pathless, a few too many repetitive tasks if you did everything, but they're very solid.

This new game looks like it might combine all elements of what made the previous games all great. The melanchalic desert theme of Journey, the awe-inspiring beauty of the ocean from Abzu and the fluent movement system from the Pathless. Absolutely cannot wait to get my hands on it!

Actually I'm kinda disappointed after seeing this trailer because it looks exactly like those 3 games combined, same character from pathless, same environments from journey and abzu, I was hoping they would think of a new concept for this one (I'm still gonna play the heck out of it tho)

The Pathless, Abzu, and Journey are all must play games. Absolutely beautiful set pieces and gameplay.
So Desert (Journey) and Sea (Abzu) combined into a skating game? Truly the best of both worlds.

I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY ACTUALLY MADE A GAME ABOUT MY THREE FAVORITE GAMES, The structures from journey, in the middle of a dessert, sand moves like waves, the similar character to the pathless, the background soundtrack mixture of both ABZÛ and journey, this is so accurate my prediction came true though I already love this game😭

I had chills the entire time of this trailer. Journey was one of the most unbelievable multiplayer experiences of my life, and Abzu made me cry. These games changed how I play games, and this one looks to merge the two to create something that should be beautiful
Insanely hyped for this. My favorite part about Journey and The Pathless is when I was gliding on the sands and the grass. It looks like they've doubled down on this mechanic so I could not be more excited for this game!

Journey was one of the most emotional experiences I’ve had playing a game. It was more interactive art than anything. This look amazing
As soon as I saw the look of the sand and its physics I immediately went: "Oh, this the company that made Journey and Abzû."
As soon as I saw the sand my mind went to Journey… I played that so much back in the day. Found it in Steam and kept playing it - so many amazing memories. And Abzu is just a beautiful game to play. I cannot wait for this!!

This is so gorgeous ! 😍💚💙💜 Giant Squid produced some of the most beautiful and touching games I have ever played and this looks like a synthesis of all the best aspect of their games. I just can't wait to play it and contemplate existence through it. I really hope they bring back the spirit realm as they did in The Pathless and the meditate feature present in Abzû that made it even more serene and transcendental. Thank you Giant Squid and Austin Wintory ❤️

I will buy a PS5 just for this game. Journey is such a evocative piece of art, I picked up the vibes immediately and started crying a bit at the reveal it was, indeed, the same devs. I can't wait for this one, it looks like it's going for all of the things I loved most about Journey.
You should also play Pathless on PS5, same company, same game feeling, just forest and mountain instead of desert.
Sky: Children of the Light is also made by the same devs as Journey and it’s pretty similar. The world of Sky is less of a desert wasteland, and it doesn’t have the cool sand graphics, but it is free and a fun experience.
Abzu was such a fabulous game and I have no doubt this will follow the same footsteps.
