I consider myself an intermediate-advanced level guitarist, and recently, I had the opportunity to play bass for one night. I was genuinely amazed at how enjoyable it is to play. Now, I'm in the process of choosing my first-ever bass, and I believe this particular model is an excellent choice, especially considering my budget constraints. The positive feedback I've heard from numerous people also adds to its appeal. I stumbled upon your channel for the first time, and I must say, I'm captivated by your energy. Beyond the accuracy and depth of the information you provide, your videos are incredibly entertaining. I found myself laughing several times. Subscribed!
I bought my silver 170 6yrs ago for $i95 w/ case new. Right outta the box it was ready to go...all setup typical Yamaha. Light weight, great sustain and as you showed a fast neck. After 6 years it still plays great haven't had to do nothing to it except strings.
That was my first bass. I got it second hand and it was in midnight wine color..or electric burgundy or whatever the color's name is😅. I did a crappy custom white paint job. I love it!
this is my first real bass that i bought, i had an ibenez gio before this. I still use this, its solid and has a great tone and sound and its sturdy, "maybe a little heavy" like weight wise it can feel heavy but it sounds great and i like the feel and style of it. :) #ZinTravels
I found an RBX 760 on E-bay for $156.00, assembly required and it's great. My intent was to buy an RBX 170. I love the RBX 170 because it can rise to the occasion. I could choose this over an American P bass no problem. It sounds better and plays almost as good.
Yamaha sounds clean and accurate, but the tone is not rounded and full, like a beer with no body. How else to describe it? Compare your Fender demo a week ago -- ua-cam.com/video/ev7cD7Z3Dz4/v-deo.html
An active 5 string with double humbuckers vs a passive 4 string P J? I’m gonna guess they have a big difference and it might come down to the sound your looking for. I have a 174 TRBX, just a newer version of this bass. Just bought a TRBX 504 for the active double humbucker sounds, but I’m sure gonna keep my passive P J too.
Got this bass back in 2018 and still use it to this day, it’s an absolute workhorse
This is an excellent bass and it don't cost a lot. Ready for any show.
2023 and the rbx 170 still slaps baby..les goo!!!!

Its nice to see a happy man.. Which is more rare than it should be.
Take it to any gig.
I have never owned an RBX-170, but I have played many of them in shops. I always thought they sounded great.
THe first bass I got and owned is a RBX 170.. I have had it for like.. 18 years?... its great. Was my only bass till about 4 months ago.
The 170 can hold it's own.

Johnny: I’m a do it slow
Me: I wish I could play that fast
The sound is in dem fingers !! and some in the bass itself
The second I heard your voice I thought “holy shit you’re the Rickenbacker guy”
I am ....lol...thank you for your return...it means alot
I've got a fretless RBX with just a P pickup and it's great. I'm going to throw an EMG P that I've got fitted to another bass into it soon
This would be my choice for a lot of gigs.
Yamahas are sleepers and this is a good example. Just good players.
Agree
Nice bass buddy " bass ! Blaster"😃
Go Johnny go, Johnny B Goode tonight.
*SHADDYKAKA*
My Yamaha BB200 is being repaired.
I miss that girl!
Just grabbed one from guitar center for 150!
Would Hooty get his fitty if he were to play this beautiful Cinderella 170 Yamaha bass on a gig?
Is this a good first bass? BTW I didn't realise my volume was up and the start scared the shit out of me😂
Hi how much is this worth, when this guitar was produced,is it still in production now,i need some information i am going to deal a used bass online
I love cheap basses! Yammy is TOP!
Those are really great basses but they never really caught on. I never seen anyone glging with them at shows. Dont know why.
I have!
💙👊😎
That headstock would be nice and symmetrical if it were upside down.
It was made just like you said in the TRBX series. Checm out the TRBX174
Is this one considered a P or J bass
It's a PJ bass because it has both a P and a J pickup
I high mass bridge would not hurt.

My initial of the Yamaha basses are the same. However, I am always amazed at how it cuts through the mix when played along with a band.
@@joshuat8450 the trbx one?
