I have competed in the 4400 class of The King of Hammers, and finished. I don't know about Dakar as the hardest offroad race. But Robby Gordon has completed them all, and he believes King Of Hammers is the hardest in his opinion. Very cool for you to have the opportunity to go and check out Dakar!
Great video, fellas! I've been following Dakar for 10 years or so. I'm fascinated by the semi trucks. Watched the Ford Performance video of them tuning the Raptor T1+. The video then changed to the race Semi's. Unsure of the racetrack but saw the Semi's hauling-ass on the race course. I want one, lol
My First 4x4 was a 1984 Toyota long bed Xtra Cab! Cost almost 20k back then. Rust was an issue & no creature comforts other than AC. Drive it in snow out to Colorado from the Panhandle & flipped it into a creek & rebuilt it! Eventually replaced it with a 1992 Pathfinder! (Transmission crapped out on it-go figure)😂
Interesting discussion. I cannot remember when I first learned of Dakar; it was not long after I learned about the Baja 1000, so maybe in the late 80s? I was so fascinated by rally racing; it was definitely more interesting to me than oval track or drag racing. I am not sure how I found it. I think it showed up at some point in Four Wheeler magazine? I do not know. Anyway, really cool stuff, Andrey.
Everyone still makes extended cabs, they just switched the rear suicide doors to a normal style door but it's smaller than a crew cab door. Suicide doors allow you to fit bigger objects in the back seat since there is no door pillar in the way.
Make sure you thank the prisoners who also have to put out those fires in California. Make sure you think the billionaire family that apparently owns water in this capitalist society out there in California
He owns the water not by Capitalism but by fraud & owning the 4 families that idiots keep electing into office, in Kalifornia. But your elections are probably rigged now since Reagan. Get out😂
