As the tractor turns the driver can only see down one side of trailer so the silver Volvo is completely out of the drivers sight, much safer and easier for everyone involved to keep clear even if it means putting 2 mins on your journey time!
The ironic thing is when idiots like that one in the Volvo push through impatiently it slows the Lorry down and holds them up more than if they just let them get on with it.

Not really. The banksman should've had him stop further back or let him go so he wasn't in the way. The Volvo had to move or the lorry would have revered straight into it

This is the constant problem we suffer being HGV drivers. I drive up to a 44 tonner and I get motorists driving right up behind me all the time even the obvious of me reversing. Sometimes you just wish you could run straight through them. :-\
I have several times been forced onto the motorway hard shoulder from lane 1, when driving behind another vehicle, when an HGV wants to drive through me from lane 2, so I do not always respect their driving.

He turned left to early on to a 7.5 ton limit road, due to bad sinage, this is at the bottom of a hill, that an HGV could never get up, sadly it is a daily problem, the entrance to Morrisons is the next left
You see those buildings with signs on the front on your high street. they are called shops and to keep their customers happy they require goods to sell. these goods are transported to the shop by magic fairy charms. Trucks are put in your towns to let you know a particular shop is near your home or in your town. But don't worry if you ask the retailer nicely he will make sure the big nasty lorry won't come back. They are working on a method for raw materials for factories supplies to building sites schools offices hospitals restaurants and another service supplier you can think of to be delivered by the fairy charm method so as not to offend your sensibilities and whilst every effort to accomplish this is being made would you be so kind as to tell your fellow residents to not park on double yellow lines as they denote a no parking zone and inform silver Volvo drivers that attepts have been made to breed HGV drivers with eyes in their arse but European legislation prevents this from being implimented so getting up his chuff when they are reversing is not advisable as it may have an impact they weren't expecting lastly if you have to post video's on youtube could you at the very least make them entertaining yours in anticipation a bored viewer

Just a possibility: the silver Volvo saw the truck drive off. How was that driver to know the truck wanted to reverse round the corner? Car drivers genuinely do not know what a truck needs.
I have delivered to that store carrying fresh produce with a full sized fridge trailer. The goods entrance to the store is via the next road up and then via a trading estate. Even then it's all very tight. the problem here is the driver came from the wrong direction down the hill from the south. Their depot is in Bridgewater and from there the sat nav will bring you in Via Junction 18 on the M4 and down the hill, making the right turn into Avening Road near impossible. The approved route is via Junction 13 of the M5. Again not a very good road very narrow and busy but at least it's a much easier left fork into Avening Road. There should be route notes provided by the transport office in Bridgewater but whether the driver reads them is another matter. Bottom line Nailsworth has a supermarket which needs to be kept stocked, without the trucks going in there the residents would be faced with the drive to Stroud if they wished to do their supermarket shopping. If the store is open seven days a week it requires deliveies seven days a week.
Bit late with this comment but here goes. Two faults here... No 1...Who allowed a Supermarket to be built in such a silly place? Did they not know how large Supermarket Lorries are? No 2 Why are the drivers not given the Goods Entrance address. 40 years on Class 2's and I could never understand that.

This driver made two mistakes. 1) He came from the wrong direction. 2) he missed/ couldn't make the turn from that direction. From Bridgewater (Morrisons RDC) you MUST come in via J13 of the M5 not J18 of the M4. The goods entrance is accessed via the Avining Road (Just seen in the background) and unsuitable for a right turn in a large vehicle. You must go through an industrial estate and then make a blindside 90° reverse into their yard, not made any easier by parked cars and kerbs. Why was it built there? In a town like Nailsworth, built in a narrow valley as it is, there's not much room for supermarkets.

My main point was that Town Planners allow Supermarkets etc. to be built in such stupid places then complain about blokes TRYING to do their job and get an Artic where they couldn't get a car. (Maybe the Volvo driver was a Town Planner, eh?) My other point was that, MOSTLY, Drivers are only given the Postal Address for deliveries and not the Goods Entrance Address which, as here by the look of it, is "around the block". That, to me, was/is a Transport Office problem. Good Luck Ted if you're still on the road. I've been out of it for 9 or 10 years now, Thank God.
@@cliffboulton8763 The road he backed into is where the main entrance to the store is. If he had not turned around there the next turning point / roundabout for an attic is in Stroud about 7 miles away. I used to go in at 06:00 before the traffic but still a nightmare.
Ted B Up until last year I drove class 1 for Sainsbury's and like Morrisons they have very detailed instructions of route to store and even the manoeuvre once you are in the store, they actually ban the use of Satavs so you don't arrive at the store on the wrong road. The ones I used to hate were the smaller stores where we used to have to take a full sized artic through the customer car park to access the loading bay. I retired last year so I don't have to live with this type of crap anymore.
Morrisons really ought to be sending out 2 people to hold traffic when their trucks come and go. If you deliver to a construction site or a builder's merchant, you're made to wait until a banksman comes out - why should a supermarket be any different?
The only people who have the law to stop traffic is the police. If a store worker told me to stop I would carry on driving as they don't have law to stop traffic

wrong entrance to start with... the 2 rear axles are rated at 10 tonne each. Fine with chill, frozen palletisd loads, but not with spuds from Thrapston
+Driving MeCrazy that. CF would ba an auto, no clutch. Daf autos are exceptionally jerky, even in crawler mode. Almost as bad as MAN's. Truck manufactures insist on mating a manual gearbox with the ECU, so it technically has an auto clutch, not gearbox if that makes sense. rear pain but that DAF guy has zero control over that vehicles jerkiness.
Three problems in this video - supermarkets putting their stores in small towns, and secondly, impatient drivers like seen in the silver estate car not having a slightest idea how difficult it can be driving a truck which is over 50' in length, and people parking where they like

Artics can obviously physically get to the destination, this driver has gone off route and idiots in cars have turned a simple manoeuvre into a slightly more difficult one through their impatience. So you want a hgv ban? Ok so that artic is 44t with a rough payload of 26t. The 7.5t will have a rough payload of 2.5t, so you’ve just replaced 1 lorry with 10 smaller ones. Genius
The person stopping the traffic got back into his car after helping the driver, so was obviously not a member of staff, just a passing motorist who stopped to help.

Just hold back a minute an be courteous i am an HGV driver and i always am courteous to cars just wish the favour was returned more often. Dummy car drivers, unable to read the road traffic issues. Having driven HGV’s, I’ve seen quite a few inconsiderate drivers in my time, usually of the unable to wait brigade.
Problem being that you then have lots of smaller trucks clogging up the roads and employing more drivers to do the same job and so pushing up the costs!That artic in the video will have no doubt 4 or 5 drops to do at different stores.
Or, "a kindly member of the public does his best to help a guy out of a tricky situation". I'm an HGV driver and sometimes people trying to help are more of a hindrance but at least they try to do something, rather than sitting there gawping. I'd never criticise someone for trying to give a fellow a helping hand.

99hammy99 the ones on the double yellows probably have a blue badge which, as we all know, entitles them to park in the worst places possible. These badges are basically making a mockery of of any attempt to keep access routes clear and improve the flow of traffic. They should do what some hospitals do and use double red lines too, they mean ABSOLUTELY NO PARKING!

I know Nailsworth and I'm an HGV driver. The limit should be 7.5 tonnes. That lorry is way to big and uneccessary.

You would need quite a few 7.5 tonnes, to deliver 20 tonnes of produce, that one artic delivered. I doubt you are a hgv driver tbh.

Dummy car drivers, unable to read the road traffic issues. Having driven HGV’s, I’ve seen quite a few inconsiderate drivers in my time, usually of the unable to wait brigade.

I'm an HGV driver and sometimes people trying to help are more of a hindrance but at least they try to do something, rather than sitting there gawping. I'd never criticise someone for trying to give a fellow a helping hand.

99hammy99 the ones on the double yellows probably have a blue badge which, as we all know, entitles them to park in the worst places possible. These badges are basically making a mockery of of any attempt to keep access routes clear and improve the flow of traffic. They should do what some hospitals do and use double red lines too, they mean ABSOLUTELY NO PARKING!
