    This is a daily occurrence for most lorry drivers and isn't a problem providing Nailsworth still wants its food delivering?
    The cars parking on yellow lines and the twat in the Volvo wanting to turn right is the biggest problem!
    As the tractor turns the driver can only see down one side of trailer so the silver Volvo is completely out of the drivers sight, much safer and easier for everyone involved to keep clear even if it means putting 2 mins on your journey time!

    You see those buildings with signs on the front on your high street. they are called shops and to keep their customers happy they require goods to sell. these goods are transported to the shop by magic fairy charms. Trucks are put in your towns to let you know a particular shop is near your home or in your town. But don't worry if you ask the retailer nicely he will make sure the big nasty lorry won't come back. They are working on a method for raw materials for factories supplies to building sites schools offices hospitals restaurants and another service supplier you can think of to be delivered by the fairy charm method so as not to offend your sensibilities and whilst every effort to accomplish this is being made would you be so kind as to tell your fellow residents to not park on double yellow lines as they denote a no parking zone and inform silver Volvo drivers that attepts have been made to breed HGV drivers with eyes in their arse but European legislation prevents this from being implimented so getting up his chuff when they are reversing is not advisable as it may have an impact they weren't expecting lastly if you have to post video's on youtube could you at the very least make them entertaining yours in anticipation a bored viewer

    I have delivered to that store carrying fresh produce with a full sized fridge trailer. The goods entrance to the store is via the next road up and then via a trading estate. Even then it's all very tight. the problem here is the driver came from the wrong direction down the hill from the south. Their depot is in Bridgewater and from there the sat nav will bring you in Via Junction 18 on the M4 and down the hill, making the right turn into Avening Road near impossible. The approved route is via Junction 13 of the M5. Again not a very good road very narrow and busy but at least it's a much easier left fork into Avening Road. There should be route notes provided by the transport office in Bridgewater but whether the driver reads them is another matter. Bottom line Nailsworth has a supermarket which needs to be kept stocked, without the trucks going in there the residents would be faced with the drive to Stroud if they wished to do their supermarket shopping. If the store is open seven days a week it requires deliveies seven days a week.

    • @cliffboulton8763

      Bit late with this comment but here goes. Two faults here... No 1...Who allowed a Supermarket to be built in such a silly place? Did they not know how large Supermarket Lorries are? No 2 Why are the drivers not given the Goods Entrance address. 40 years on Class 2's and I could never understand that.

    • @tedb4355
      @tedb4355 3 роки тому

      @@cliffboulton8763 At Morrisons RDCs they have clear instructions printed for ALL of their stores. This driver made two mistakes. 1) He came from the wrong direction. 2) he missed/ couldn't make the turn from that direction. From Bridgewater (Morrisons RDC) you MUST come in via J13 of the M5 not J18 of the M4. The goods entrance is accessed via the Avining Road (Just seen in the background) and unsuitable for a right turn in a large vehicle. You must go through an industrial estate and then make a blindside 90° reverse into their yard, not made any easier by parked cars and kerbs. Why was it built there? In a town like Nailsworth, built in a narrow valley as it is, there's not much room for supermarkets.

      @@tedb4355 Fair enough, Ted, I'm not familiar with Nailsworth. Don't think I've ever been there!! Used to deliver in that area quite a bit though and stayed at Langdons Truck Stop overnight.
      My main point was that Town Planners allow Supermarkets etc. to be built in such stupid places then complain about blokes TRYING to do their job and get an Artic where they couldn't get a car. (Maybe the Volvo driver was a Town Planner, eh?)
      My other point was that, MOSTLY, Drivers are only given the Postal Address for deliveries and not the Goods Entrance Address which, as here by the look of it, is "around the block". That, to me, was/is a Transport Office problem.
      Good Luck Ted if you're still on the road. I've been out of it for 9 or 10 years now, Thank God.

      Ted B Up until last year I drove class 1 for Sainsbury's and like Morrisons they have very detailed instructions of route to store and even the manoeuvre once you are in the store, they actually ban the use of Satavs so you don't arrive at the store on the wrong road. The ones I used to hate were the smaller stores where we used to have to take a full sized artic through the customer car park to access the loading bay. I retired last year so I don't have to live with this type of crap anymore.

    So what is your solution to this "problem"?Perhaps they should deliver all the food to the store using a helicopter!

      +formidable38 Well they could start by getting their own employees to direct their wagons instead of relying on members of the public.

      or a smaller truck?

    • @formidable38
      @formidable38 8 років тому

      Problem being that you then have lots of smaller trucks clogging up the roads and employing more drivers to do the same job and so pushing up the costs!That artic in the video will have no doubt 4 or 5 drops to do at different stores.

      So even more trucks having to turn around with idiotic car drivers. Even more chance of an incident.

      Member of the public trying to help, not a trained banks man, he drives off at the end and is not wearing hi-vis

      Or, "a kindly member of the public does his best to help a guy out of a tricky situation". I'm an HGV driver and sometimes people trying to help are more of a hindrance but at least they try to do something, rather than sitting there gawping. I'd never criticise someone for trying to give a fellow a helping hand.

    Impatient car drivers. Also, those 2 cars parked on double yellows don't exactly help. God knows what the Volvo driver was thinking, driving up the blind side of a truck doing a reverse.
    Don't want trucks? Stop buying stuff.

    • @adyf397

      99hammy99 the ones on the double yellows probably have a blue badge which, as we all know, entitles them to park in the worst places possible. These badges are basically making a mockery of of any attempt to keep access routes clear and improve the flow of traffic. They should do what some hospitals do and use double red lines too, they mean ABSOLUTELY NO PARKING!

    The guy acting as 'banksman' was useless and no authority in his actions.
    You have to make these fuckwit drivers well aware they must stop and stay put. A hi-viz should have been worn also to highlight himself and to display to others that he's not just some random pedestrian or nutcase !

    I guess it’s there every Day at the same time, so locals know when not to go there and for how long it’s going to be there, I guess the Shop is in an awkward place, so Morrisons don’t have a choice, if the Town wants food, this is a short inconvenience.🫣🤔
