I got these are a huge discount . I paid 220 dollars plus tax and I thought i was robbing the store. However I was really dissapointed with them. I am currently using a pair of sony 1000m4 with a sennheiser gsx1000 DAC to wired them for surround sound audio and to eliminate the blue tooth lag. The comfort of the sony 1000m4 is incredible and the boominess of the sony makes them really good for gaming and watching movies and music etc. My experience with the Oribts was that they were too heavy for extended gaming sessions and i found myself immediately missing the sonys on my head. additionally they clamp down hard on your head. Yes I did hear they break in after a week but they still feel heavy and unwieldy. The 100 mm planar drives also disappointed me a great deal. with this size drivers you would expect extremely low bass which is what makes cinematic games come to life, but the orbits were extremely neutral for a gaming head set. And although that may be great for an audiophile listening to some jazz they just sound unexciting to the average consumer ears.Changing the EQ pre sets did not seem to make them much more exciting . The positional 3d is a cool niche. but again, i would problaly end up turning this off., if you are listening to you tube on your right screen then the music will sound as if it is coming from that screen while you play. which will deteriorate the quality of the music experience due to the music being on one side of your ear mostly. This takes me to the 7.1 surround sound in games and movies. coming from my sennheiser gsx 1000 DAC the surround sound in the orbits was unimpressive, it was hard to tell where stuff was compared to the gsx1000s . with the GSX you can hear depth to the sounds around you almost being able to tell how far stuff is. with the Orbits however all the sound sounds immediately next to you. Also changing modes in the orbits felt like a clunky experience while with the GSX 1000s i can press a button and immediately change to 2 channel for better music experience the orbits seemed to reset internaly every time i did from it's software options. almost as if the headphones turned off and on every time. So if you can buy an external microphone the GSX 1000 DAC + comfortable headphones seem like a much better set up than these.for reasons i can't explain the Sony seemed a lot more warm with highs and lows with it's much smaller 40mm drivers vs the orbits. I will say that the orbits did sound crisp. but maybe too much ?? not sure.
Hey so I looked up what the GSK1000 thing is, it's like an equalizer right? Does that help increase the volume for gaming? Like for any headset? Not overall volume... I mean something like Decrease Bass and Increase High sounds like "foot steps" Or maybe I should elsewhere?
@@tsohgallik yes the GSX 1000 has a "FPS" setting that magnifies the foot steps and reduces bass. The GSX1000 is the DAC of choice for several FPS teams out there.,I recommend 100% , creative makes one too for a bit cheaper but i have not try it. the best part about the the GSX1000 is that you don't need to install any drivers.. I haven't been using them since then tbh. I regularly change headsets but I can't say based on what I saw they'd break unless you were very heavy handed! You'll always find negative comments online. @Momo Firefox mine first pair of Orbit S broke near the ear cup. Not sure if it was due to poor quality or faulty equipment. But Kingston/ HyperX was good about not questioning it and honored the warranty and sent me a new pair. So far no issues with this pair.
If this headset is used without a dac, can it compete with arctis pro + game dac model ? The reason I ask this is because it doesn't sound better than arctis pro which is a dac. It is said that there is very little difference. what is your experience?

@@TheProvokedPrawn I saw that dudes reply. I still enjoyed your video. You gave me enough information for me to pick them up on sale. I didnt get the S version, head tracking and all didnt seem worth it to me. Thanks for the vid
A bit late, but for anyone in the future scrolling and spotting such a question, The Orbit S is just a downscaled rebrand of an Audeze Mobius. Audeze produces both the Orbit/S and the Mobius, and the only difference between the two is that the Mobius comes with bluetooth, but at a higher price tag. There is also the Orbit which is the same as the Orbit S, but without headtracking, and at a lower price. The whole point of the Orbit/S is to give gamers affordable audiophile headsets. A $300 headset with Planar Magnetic Drivers is basically a steal when it comes to how expensive they can get, as some Planar magnetic Driver headsets can go upwards of $4000 without all these additional gamer features.
Great video! Do you think I would be able to hear footsteps better on these than the A50? I’m having trouble hearing the high end detail on the A50. The Arctic pro wireless have great high end but are not comfortable for my big head.

The Provoked Prawn thanks for the reply, i have been looking for a long time which headphone to buy for competitive fps since my headphones broke. now I finally have the answer.
actually to be honest no it is not comfortable for long game or streaming sessions too much clambforce and too heavy on the head it hurts to wear it for a long time but best sound I've ever experienced from a headset such a pure sound even at max volume the bass is really great mid tones and low tones perfect you will not hear any noise in the headset at all, not even from the microphone I don't hear any malfunctions from the wiring that this reviewer did have they should have taken that dsp apart to make the headset less heavy I've been looking for a perfect headset for quite some time, so far I haven't found it yet
Mine broke on the right hinge after 2 years. Even so, I'd buy these again, Simply because there is no other headset I've found that sounds as good as these. Planar magnetic drivers are amazing. They do go on sale sometimes, So I'd wait for a sale.
This headset is now 215 usd in my country, I wanted a wireless headset but none are avaible, or either to expensive, like the Astro a50 (250 usd), after 3 years with my lovely HyperX cloud alpha, I don't know what to buy.
This headphone is amazing but microphone has serious issues: volume and the feedback nosie. There are two ways of fixing this issue. 1. Using v-moda microphone cable. This technically "fixes" the problem but that means paying more money on top of already expensive headphone and forgo USB connectivity. 2. Using softwares. For the volume, you can use EqualizerAPO + Peace and increase the gain . For the feedback, you can use RTX Voice or NVIDIA Broadcast to remove the noise (only on GTX/RTX cards). Combining these two solutions will give you very impressive results!
@@itsAbsolem Thanks bud. Exchanged them at the store for a new pair and they work just fine now. The mic has that weird low hum all the time though. They need to fix that.

@Momo Firefox mine first pair of Orbit S broke near the ear cup. Not sure if it was due to poor quality or faulty equipment. But Kingston/ HyperX was good about not questioning it and honored the warranty and sent me a new pair. So far no issues with this pair.
@@TheProvokedPrawn Mmmmm I was worried too but bought one with a 3 year protecton plan so let's see.
@@Moody_Incorporated how is it bro????
Does the clamping pressure hurt your ears after wearing glasses for awhile?
Nope. Certainly didn't mine anyway.
Are you able to partner this with a chat mix dial of any sort?
These headsets already have built in audio volume Sliders on the left ear cup
You can lower game audio and microphone audio
If this headset is used without a dac, can it compete with arctis pro + game dac model ?
The reason I ask this is because it doesn't sound better than arctis pro which is a dac. It is said that there is very little difference. what is your experience?
I've come to a dilemma. I really like these, but I use a mixamp as a hub for audio, and I'm not sure how well these would perform in that way.
Had some and they work amazing
Looking at the non head tracking version. Is it actually worth the money for the head tracking bit? I dont know that I would even use it.
It's a great headset either way.
Hi! I saw a lot reviews on this headphones, but everytime, when guys try check sound from mic - it sounds bad, everytime. But sound from you really clearly. You use something for soundproduction or it is vanilla connection to PC with type-c?
I did have some odd problems with the mic, I think I managed to sort them with updates. It's a standard connection, no editing
@@TheProvokedPrawn Thanks a lot! good luck!
Perfect channel. Wish a qk grows!
The Provoked Prawn I’m trying to get these for cs-go. Do these hurt your head with long use? Also, the mic issues have been fixed?
@@joemomma707 just got these today. Played 4hrs. Didn’t hurt. The clamp isn’t great but again I just got them today. The headband is ok wish it was a bit wider. The mic in the reviews sound iffy but mine sounds crisp. I do need to have it near my face. If they were Bluetooth capable & $50 cheaper, they’d be perfect.
@@oscara.7950 is it tight?
would you recommend the normal Orbit ?
Did you ever get these headset?
Ir something else?
@@tsohgallik I did get them , they are very good !
Looking to buy for Xbox One possibly.
Currently have Astro A50, which are 3 years old now so looking to upgrade.
Does the sound work just as good for Xbox as it does for PC?
I can't comment on Xbox unfortunately as it's not something I've tried and wouldn't want to mislead you.
I want to buy either the hyperx orbit s or steelseries arctis pro dac. I care about surround sound and quality of audio.which one?
They're both great tbh. I thought very highly of the Steel Series Arctis Pro+GameDAC. HyperX has bigger drivers and is more comfortable though
@@TheProvokedPrawn so bigger drivers means they better or they louder I say this because the steel series has the Dolby approval. Thnx by the way. Great videos you have. Also it's truly important because I consider buying one of them. Also the steelseries connects via optical, is this better?
I now use the kraken v2 7.1 will I see difference?
Also they say that a jack of all trades is a master in none. I say this because the hyperx supports 7.1 3d stereo. Does it really?
@@BRAVosZ I thought the Kraken was awful tbh. I think you'll be impressed.
How does the Orbit's sound quality compares to a GSP 600?
ua-cam.com/video/swcNk1ioe8Y/v-deo.html
Orbit is superior imo.
@@TheProvokedPrawn Thank you very much sir!
One more thing, will the earcups last long on the Orbit? According to HyperX there are no replacement cushions in case of a tearing.
Hey I started to get this sound like somebody is bending aluminum foil in my ears if anyone can tell me what this is that would be great when I turn my head side to side or if I push my ear cups against my head it also make the noise

The premium is mostly for the 100mm Planar Magnetic drivers. I'm not sure of any wireless headsets with similar planars maybe someone can point me in that direction?
I've not experienced such, no.
It’s not working good with my ps4 can you tell me how can I do it? The mic not working good
Great video! Do you think I would be able to hear footsteps better on these than the A50? I’m having trouble hearing the high end detail on the A50. The Arctic pro wireless have great high end but are not comfortable for my big head.
Yes
The Provoked Prawn never mind I am on ps4 pro so I don’t think you get 7.1 surround sound with these from what I’m reading. Let me know if you know any details on that?
@@zacdavis7 hmmm. I don't know I'm afraid. I don't play on console.
I can update you. I'll be getting The Orbit S tomorrow. I was torn between A50s, Arctis 7, Arctis 9x and Orbit/Orbit S. I wanted great sound and 1 that could do it all. BestBuy has them for 280 right now(I was really upset for not getting the 200$ Orbit on HyperX's website last week. So, I pulled the trigger.
M R I have had them for 2 weeks now I got hem for $280 also at Bestbuy, be sure to buy geek squad warranty.
I was worried about the hinges breaking saw a lot of reviews about that but .... saw the same for others especially the atlas aero guess some companies are jealous of the audeze 3D audio.
Hi man. I have hyper revolver S now. its worth it replace with Orbit s? thx
I've not tried the Revolver S but the Orbit S is seriously premium
wwhats the difference between the orbit s and normal orbit... they both have 3d audio but whats the difference???
Orbit S adds head tracking
for competitive fps gaming are these the best headphones I can get? I talk about how footsteps of enemies and shots feel. are they better for competitive fps gaming than the wireless steelseries artics pro?
Wired generally offer better sounds. Especially with hi Res audio. So yes.
The Provoked Prawn thanks for the reply, i have been looking for a long time which headphone to buy for competitive fps since my headphones broke. now I finally have the answer.
@@MathiElite just got these and they are great. Not muddled. Very clear and detailed sound. Sound better than both my Cloud II & Arctis 7P

ua-cam.com/video/eHbJCjYtFl0/v-deo.html
Is it comfortable?
actually to be honest no it is not comfortable for long game or streaming sessions too much clambforce and too heavy on the head
it hurts to wear it for a long time
but best sound I've ever experienced from a headset
such a pure sound even at max volume
the bass is really great
mid tones and low tones perfect
you will not hear any noise in the headset at all, not even from the microphone
I don't hear any malfunctions from the wiring that this reviewer did have
they should have taken that dsp apart to make the headset less heavy
I've been looking for a perfect headset for quite some time, so far I haven't found it yet
Mine broke on the right hinge after 2 years. Even so, I'd buy these again, Simply because there is no other headset I've found that sounds as good as these. Planar magnetic drivers are amazing. They do go on sale sometimes, So I'd wait for a sale.
Great video, thanks a lot
Thanks!
This headset is now 215 usd in my country, I wanted a wireless headset but none are avaible, or either to expensive, like the Astro a50 (250 usd), after 3 years with my lovely HyperX cloud alpha, I don't know what to buy.
If you already love HyperX then this is the right choice.
@@TheProvokedPrawn BOUGHT THEM! and i F. love them hehe, thanks!
Would you recommend these or audeze mobious? I only play cod war zone.
They're essentially the same device. Just rebranded as HyperX
@@TheProvokedPrawn thanks. With the orbit s, is there a software you have to download on pc, like to change the pre sets?
Is there a footstep setting?
This headphone is amazing but microphone has serious issues: volume and the feedback nosie. There are two ways of fixing this issue.
1. Using v-moda microphone cable. This technically "fixes" the problem but that means paying more money on top of already expensive headphone and forgo USB connectivity.
2. Using softwares. For the volume, you can use EqualizerAPO + Peace and increase the gain . For the feedback, you can use RTX Voice or NVIDIA Broadcast to remove the noise (only on GTX/RTX cards). Combining these two solutions will give you very impressive results!
Just picked these up yesterday aaaaand the microphone didn't work at all. Nada. Very strange for a premium price point.
Just hit them up in their subreddit or on FB/TW and they'll probably help you out with that since you just bought them ;) .
@@itsAbsolem Thanks bud. Exchanged them at the store for a new pair and they work just fine now. The mic has that weird low hum all the time though. They need to fix that.
Coming from the Sennheiser G4ME Zero to these. It really has to sound great. Would like more bass then what I have now. Also, not of fan of the noise both from the braided cable and microphone that you mentioned. Holding back till that gets fixed. Thanks
Which do u guys think is better, OrbitS or Mobius?

Is all the audio using the orbits mic?
Yes

What is the best for gaming this or the astro a50?
This probably. Though I prefer the A50 for comfort and convenience.
I've tried the A50 Gen 4, Good headset, but gave me constant audio cut outs, with 3 different units, now went with these(Orbit S) for the same price and this one is noticeably better, not wireless, but if that isn't a big issue, then I say go for them, comfort is personal preference, but so far I like the Orbit S better

For ps4 but lack lack in base just not punchy enough is the audio satisfyjing on the cloud orbis s for the console. Or does the a50 gen4 sound best for console thanks mate
Well, they're designed to work on PS4 too and all the tech is internal so I'd imagine it would be just as good on PS4 as it is on PC. Whereas I know the Astros are problematic for console gamers at the moment. So yes, buy these and you won't be sad. Though your bank account might be.
