Prickly pear could be a good name for a handmade watercolour paint.I recently purchased some colours from Deep Deep Light,after watching Natasha Newton's video,the paints are really lovely to paint with and I like that you can make up a palette of colours from their site I love the painting you created from the colours you choose,the grey ochre is a great colour and a great mixing colour too(Matt)

I can recommend the Zecchi Firenze Lapis Lazuli. It is beautiful, and it is the original Afghan pigment.

Your painting is lovely! The gray looks so good, I just got a few of these paints, excited to try them.

I think you might like the cerulean blue (PB36) considering it's really muted and it also granulates ^^

Your partridge appear very brown as mine is more green. I triple checked that I had correct color on my swatch..

Prickly pear… I think most watercolors benefit from being treated lightly, will less pigment. Partridge is amazing when used also with transparency, so is Prickly pear, even Slate, Grey Ochre, etc. They show a lot of undertones when used with water ;-)

Prickly pear! 🎉 I’ve only ever heard of a prickly pear in the Jungle Book film, I’ve no idea what it is haha! I love the Lapis Lazuli blue, did you do another layer of it or it is a very pale colour?
@Kriksis What reference book is it you use there,it also looks lovely. I also like your finished painting. The added pencils give it a wonderful touch.
