  • "Al die willen te kaap'ren varen" is a Dutch folk song. The song is about a group of sailors called "Jan, Pier, Tjores and Corneel". Nowadays these names are corrupted to "Jan, Piet, Joris and Corneel". The song lists a number of characteristics of seafaring and states that anyone who wants to participate in it must have a beard. This means that they should not be beardless boys, that they should be men who know how to tackle things and are not afraid of working hard.
