Watching Trey play guitar is like watching someone type on there computer properly. Knows exactly what each note is going to sound like before playing it and doesn't have to think about it. It's just so effortless, it's insane to watch.
The "groove" as they would call it. It's an amazing state where you are all connected as one, at an insane level to where music flows from your soul during musical improvisation. No idea where it comes from but it's very very spiritual and real. Phish has songs and riffs but when played live it all comes from their body/soul without thought or reasoning and that's why Phish is one of the best. Maybe a vibration or frequency? Lol. This is what space smells like

The new material rocks and is super catchy, the band is clearly loving it & we can only hope that continues for a long, long time

So few bands are still playing together 30 yrs after coming together and of those who do, only few are still creating new material and are excited about it.

I gotta say, this might be my favorite NYE song. also, this is in my top 5 Phish songs ever. The music is amazing and lyrics are science-y & history and so smart. I'll admit I had to look up some of the facts in the song, but when you do... Makes me love this song so much more, and what an amazing writing session that must have been

I know I'm clouded by my presence at this show... but I can't freakin stop watching this! So happy to have been a part of a celebration that caps one of Phish's greatest years in 3.0! Way To Go BAND. You guys are the best at banding.
I actually have been a long-time Phish critic. But I've come around. I listened to this New Year's performance on XM, and...it was really superb. And now, seeing the visual feast that went along with it...Kudos. It really doesn't get much better than that.

Saw a HORDE show with them on the bill in 1994, a Greek Theater show with JJ Cale warming up, 2001 at Shoreline, and most recently in 2010 at OutsideLands. So I wasn’t critical due to unfamiliarity - it was deeper than that :)
I'm so thankful for Phish. I go and pay homage when I can, they give me an experience. I take that with me as a ballast in less awesome times. So. Fucking. Good.
Thank you Phish for putting this out for the universe to witness. Thank you Phish and the crew for continuing to push your own limits and strive to make these experience phresh , anew, and ever expansive. This years nye seemed to blow many minds and hearts
they also edited auld layne quite a bit. it actually had a false ending where they bust back in. and also many bad notes were played by trey. noticeable flubs. In fact, I'm wondering if he actually overdubbed a new solo because I don't remember any of it being this tight. But you can't blame him with all the balloons, confetti and crazyness. If it's not a new overdub, they edited it down to the ONE verse that wasn't botched. Not complaining just happened to notice.

And he brought it every night and almost every song for this run. I Love the "Mercury" theme. A song that sometimes can make you cringe a little was spot on tonight.
