This song - Blow - is so magical. Their voices are haunting. They sing so well together. Heard this song 2-3 years ago on Celtic Voices - so grateful to have discovered it.
Caught this line up at the Maryland Renaissance Faire around this era and they were awe inspiring, so much so that among the hundreds of onlookers there were quite a few wives having to cover the eyes of their bewitched husbands.
The best lineup of MBs. Not that the current one isn't marvellous. But this line up was something awe-inspiring and gorgeously whimsical. I miss this era 😢 💜✨️
thx a lot - found this in our central library as i like ti pick unusal music genres - listen to them now since 2000 or so... that was one of the first stuff I recognized. What a wonderful music project/choir/band....
My Middle English Professor showed me this video...............I cannot read the text without singing it now because they've put the verses from the poem into song haha
Befell so in the comessing of May, When mirry and hot is the day (And) oway beth winter shours And every feld is full of flours And blosme breme on evry bough Overall wexeth mirry anough, This ich quene Dame Heurodis Took two maidens of pris And went in an undrentide To play by an orchard side, To see the floures sprede and spring (And) to here the fowles sing. They set hem down all three Under a faire impe-tree, And wel sone this faire quene Fell on slepe opon the grene. The maidens durst hir nought awake Bot lete hir ligge and rest take. The two maidens hir beside No durst with hir no leng abide, Bot urn to the palais full right And tolde bothe squier and knight That her quene awede wold, And bad hem go and hir athold. Knightes urn and levedis also, The knights, and the ladies Damisels sexty and mo. In they orchard to the quene hie come And hir up in her armes nome And brought hir to bed atte last And held hir there fine fast Ac ever she held in o cry And wolde up and owy.
Wonderful music, but the lighting designer needs to find a new career, probably in the food service or housekeeping industries. It looks like it was performed on a nightclub stage.

Despite this comment being 3 years old it still made my day, thank you enlightened stranger of the past.

These girls aren't afraid to express themselves, pretty rare to see such talent like this in true theatric form.
There voices are so amazing...
A delight to the senses!

Befell so in the comessing of May,
When mirry and hot is the day
(And) oway beth winter shours
And every feld is full of flours
And blosme breme on evry bough
Overall wexeth mirry anough,
This ich quene Dame Heurodis
Took two maidens of pris
And went in an undrentide
To play by an orchard side,
To see the floures sprede and spring
(And) to here the fowles sing.
They set hem down all three
Under a faire impe-tree,
And wel sone this faire quene
Fell on slepe opon the grene.
The maidens durst hir nought awake
Bot lete hir ligge and rest take.
(So) she slepe till after none,
That undrentide was all ydone
(That undrentide was all ydone)
Ac as sone (as) she gan awake
She cried and lothly bere gan make;
She froted hir honden and hir feet
And cracched hir visage, it blede weet;
Hir riche robe hie all to-rett
And was reveyd out of hir wit.
The two maidens hir beside
No durst with hir no leng abide,

And hir up in her armes nome
And brought hir to bed atte last
And held hir there fine fast
Ac ever she held in o cry
And wolde up and owy.

I think it's partly due to the fact that the video itself is so washed out. The lighting was probably just fine in concert.
Nah. The backlighting let’s you look right through their dresses 😂
