I use florist wire to string my peppers, it’s nice because the cut wire already acts as a needle and then you don’t need to worry about knotting it properly because you can just twist the ends together 😉😉😉 I start my pepper wires as soon as I start getting extras. I just add to it all season long because I can untwist the ends when I need to add more and it stays hanging in my pantry.
I love seeing just everyday yard maintenance. We can still learn about things that need to be done. And in the process see the both of you being silly. ❤
my favourite part, was when you young boys were stringing the peppers. I wish you could make a candle out of those peppers so I can burn the scent of that beautiful moment in time. Life gives you so many peppers 🤎🤍🤎🤍🤎🤍🤎🖤
i prefer tying with thinner string, bc it seems using needle and thread through the caps, 30% fall off the thin thread as they dry. This year I'm trying rubber banding the caps, seems to be working so far. Some varieties of peppers work much better than others for hang drying, some varieties develop mold.
If the overhand knot is good enough for surgeons, it's good enough for hanging papers. When you guys are doing the pepper drying chore, you should sing some folk music. That's how you make the chore go fast.😉
I saw a homestead family make their own Korean chili powder (gochugaru) with the extra peppers they had. Seems pretty easy to make just got to be careful with gloves and air circulation.
This brought back so many childhood memories! I am from IA but spent Summers in AL with my grandfather. He taught me to pick and string the pepper from his garden when I was about 6 or 7 years old. I thought it was just "busy work". Then to see my grandma cook with those dried peppers from the previous season made me proud to contribute to the meal!
Slip knot. Super easy to tie and will tighten around the nail head when you hang them up. Easy to loosen and retie when you want to remove one later on
I'm sorry but I laughed every time you hammered in a nail and the millet fell! The look on your face was hilarious! 🤣 I love these chore videos! The pumpkins are beautiful! Are you going to carve them? 🎃🖤🧡
Yes! love the "chore heavy" videos, it gives good inspiration and tips on cleanup. It's great to see you two having so much fun, it makes chores not quite as tedious as they can be. Thanks for all you do for the gardening community.
You can also tie the string around the stems and tie a very tight knot. I used to do it like that before I had a dehydrator. It's maybe a little more work, but definitely not a lot, and it's not as hard on the hands as pushing a needle through a tough stem over and over. A good alternative for people who don't want to or can't work with needles!
Love to see such videos cause thats usually me in the garden, trying to do 16 different things at once so its really nice fast pacing different activities done😂
You guys have taught me so much. I just want to say thank you for these videos and for the motivation to keep trying/ keep learning. Gardening is definitely something that takes hard work and dedication to accomplish. I hope one day to have a bountiful garden as beautiful as yours. ❤ You have come a long way guys and it is just absolutely amazing.
The sound effects are so simple and probably unnoticeable to some, but to me they're hilarious. The dried cattails dropping off the boards, then Jacques gives a good ole PAP to that banana tree. 😂 it's such a simple thing but please never stop adding it. It's kinda golden.
I must say, it is nice to see I'm not alone in struggling to do some garden stuff I've never done before. It's encouraging in an odd way, because I've seen the incredible things you've done in the garden. Reminds me that just because I have a fair number of flops, it doesn't mean I won't have a great garden this year.
cheap kites from walmart are less than $5; i just use them for string. will hold up against the seasons, small enough to go into a needle, sterile (you can throw it in some bleachy water after each season)
Love watching you folks having a good time while passing on some awesome advice! I've only been gardening for a few years now, but one thing you've definitely taught me is it's important to experience the joy, because you know they'll be some challenges, as well. Keep up the good work, love what you all do!
Have they ever said how they keep cats out of their garden? I currently have neighborhood cats using my fresh garden beds as their bathroom. I want them gone but I don't want to hurt them in any way.
Can't wait for my Marisol peppers to ripen up, I usually have been eating them fresh but I think this year I'm gonna try sauteing them up as I think it would really bring out their flavor even more
Hi guys, Ya'all can always tie the peppers into a wreath form. In fact, I've seen peppers made specifically into ornamental wreaths to hang on doors--quite lovely. Btw, Kevin, you should check into getting a thimble to protect your finger from the needle. 😊
Yes, we want more! These are fun and funny! Not every garden video has to be the super exciting. Real gardening includes hours of stringing up peppers and trimming trees. 👍
Try the Palomar knot to your nail. It is a very easy fishing knot, and there are many videos on line to easily follow. It is one of the best, easiest fishing knots around. Hope this is helpful for you guys! John McHatton
I wouldn't even consider this a chore. This looks really fun! I'm sure it would get boring after like 3,000 peppers but I sure would like to try it! Alas my first ever peppers only produce enough for like one pepper rope
Can also use the square knot! Look up my guy at corporal corner and he has an episode on different knots, based more on survival but shows how to and different uses
Kevin, I haven’t watched your channel in a hot minute because I’ve been working on my own videos😂😭😬. BUT I wanted to mention I noticed your weight loss! Congratulations! You look happy and your hard work is noticeable! I also lost 30 lbs and sometimes it’s difficult to see in ourselves since we see our face everyday.😬
I don't want any plants in my yard that I have to say, "I don't like xxxxx enough to reach high to pick them." Cut it down and plant something you would be willing to reach for.

So smart
Idk why i legitimately love the chore episodes
We love that you love it
Me too. Not only does it remind me of things I need to do, it's also fun with you two!
I love seeing just everyday yard maintenance. We can still learn about things that need to be done. And in the process see the both of you being silly. ❤
Obsessed with the laughing start of their videos together…. Gets me laughing with them every time
Falling peppers, that was my first real belly-laugh of the day! Thanks, guys!
Kevin telling Jacques his peppers were going to fall, then Kevin just drops his on the ground 😂 I died.

I love these chore episodes. It helps us as viewers see the work that goes into having such a bountiful, beautiful space ❤

That’s just an advanced overhand knot
I would happily watch as many garden chore videos as you all are willing to make.
I'm sorry but I laughed every time you hammered in a nail and the millet fell!
The look on your face was hilarious! 🤣
I love these chore videos! The pumpkins are beautiful!
Are you going to carve them? 🎃🖤🧡
“I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 knots once, but I fear the man who has practiced one knot 10,000 times.” - Bruce Lee on Jacques
I love these chore videos. When you're working together, they are so much fun.
Love watching you two work together and the laughing intros always make me laugh too.

Those candles sound amazing! I just can't afford a $50 candle 😔 I'm sure it's really great quality for the price

Appreciate you for saying this

Watching these makes me feel better about my garden issues. ❤ it
Now look into Appalachian "leather britches" process to dry string beans....
Jacques' approach to knots is the same as mine haha
I like the chores videos, gives you an idea of how people tackle their garden clean ups 😅
You guys need to do some fishin’. A basic circle knot is key and actually easy!
This episode was highly entertaining btw
One suggestion for the candles: make them a wooden wick. They burn much better that way
Looks so nice. Best way to keep peppers.
Absolutely love chore content! It's motivating and educational.

My wonderful peppers participated in peppergate 😅 so I’m gonna try one tomorrow to see what I got cause they are certainly not jalapeños… 😂
Love "chore heavy" episodes! Love all theeee episodes! You guys are great!

I love chore heavy episodes, give me information I need for end of my season.
Loyal Australian viewer
Yessss! Bring on the chores! I appreciate the motivation and sense of comradery when facing my own chores. ♡
Love to watch the silly, fun educational videos! ❤❤😂😂
TOMATO LEAF CANDLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I held on to my favorite candle that reminded me of tomato vines for 5+ years, so this is big news 😊❤
Great work stringing them.....when it comes to hanging, I would use a slip knot
loved this light hearted and chore heavy video!
Yes, we want more! These are fun and funny! Not every garden video has to be the super exciting. Real gardening includes hours of stringing up peppers and trimming trees. 👍
The red pond plant--perhaps Alternanthera?
I would love to hear your thoughts on the “chili dog method”/ “air layering method” as an alternative way to prune your trees… 🧐
When hanging things to dry, use a rubber band to make the bundles. This prevents the medium from falling as it dries. Works best for me🪴

If double overhand works for my homemade cat toys, it’ll DEFINITELY work 😂
Yep, stringing up and hanging peppers maybe knot your forte.😂😂
I love coming home from a long day of work to this dynamic duo making amazing content while making me laugh everytime 🎉❤
The Batman and Robin of gardening!
It's such a joy to watch and learn from you guys! Loving these videos! 😍🙌🏻💚

I would love to see more of that pond and the final results of your efforts:))
Pricking a finger while stringing up peppers must be EPIC sewing.

I guess it wasn't just me who had a better pepper year 😊
Poke the needle through pepper into a finger. That would be a bit spicy, lol.
I hung sunflowers to dry with the double overhand 😂
I love ristras! I do it every year.
Is pumpkin fruiting pothos?!😮
Yet again, the best, most wholesome content on UA-cam. Keep it up legends
I don't want any plants in my yard that I have to say, "I don't like xxxxx enough to reach high to pick them." Cut it down and plant something you would be willing to reach for.
It's nice to see variety in your videos.
Jacques has such a stellar personality i am the biggest fan
I'm down for the chore episodes, they make for good reminders of my own chores, hah.
Why did I hear “Squeeze of Bidet” at 7:15?
Kevin, show some respect to the Bulgarian Knot Daddy!!
I’m good with maintenance videos… But maybe make them longer? 💙💙💙
What are those dark oblong things that were already hanging from the shed roof? It looks like cattails?
Love these videos… I laugh all the way through and learn a few things along the way! 👏🏼😂
Thanks for the unintentional comedy guys. 😂😂😂😂👍👍
Awesome video. Do you need to have a fan on the peppers? How long do you think they would need to hang there?
Fan helps! 4-6 weeks
I'm a newbie at this, so forgive me if this sounds stupid but can you tie up sweet bell peppers like this too?
thai chilis are one of my favs
Wow
Are you using fishing line? Or thread? Ah, yes fishing line! Thanks! You 2 are very funny😅😅
Yes, bring on the chores!😂
This reminds me when me and my Mohammed stream cranberries on the Christmas tree. Perhaps you’ll have new Christmas decor.?
TOMATO LEAF CANDLE!
Yes, I love these videos, I only wish they were a little longer😊
Must learn the arbor knot!
Awesome video. Thank you for sharing it.
I got your app but no Jacques hat for sale?
Love you guys! Great tips for the peppers. 🌶️
hoop at the top, how I do mine just hang from that, they look pretty too.
Not sure about the banana leaf pruning, isn’t that just robbing it of energy/photosynthetic surface?
Just dehydrate them all in a dehydrating machine - much quicker :)
The laugh start does it again 💪🏼
Trust me!
Please don’t!
Trust me!
Please don’t!
It feel like it could go on forever 😉
If you don't know knots, tie lots!
If you can’t tie a knot, tie a lot.
Fishing line crimps. Problem solved
Buena cosecha
