BRITISH PATHÉ'S STORY
Before television, people came to movie theatres to watch the news. British Pathé was at the forefront of cinematic journalism, blending information with entertainment to popular effect. Over the course of a century, it documented everything from major armed conflicts and seismic political crises to the curious hobbies and eccentric lives of ordinary people. If it happened, British Pathé filmed it.
Now considered to be the finest newsreel archive in the world, British Pathé is a treasure trove of 85,000 films unrivalled in their historical and cultural significance.

Paging Mr. Pierrepoint. Mr. Albert Pierrepoint please pick up the white courtesy phone. Your services are required.
What about Films/newsreels about the bygone British textile and fashion industry? Would interest me.
I love these old videos.
According to a BBC series on now about Pathé News, they did sometimes resort to 'reconstructing' footage. I wonder how much of this stuff was restaged for the cameras, especially the forensic / scene of crime business - what we would call CSI nowadays.
French authorities were very fond of reconstructing crimes at the site of the offence with the alleged criminals (such as in the 2nd case here)
Watching them dig thru remains with no gloves just touching everything is weird lol
And then putting the clues in suitcases
Just the music has left me so stressed, I'm exhausted.
Naval ships for next month's subject please...
How is the music between 2:50-3:00 called?
Was the second clip of the acid path murders?
I'd like to see videos about colonies.

+tobiaz1 Lots of requests for this. It's a good idea.
There’s lots of videos out there from british pathe now, as long as they keep the videos uploaded with the audio history can’t be erased. #palwstine
The public watching the Police nick the crooks and make sure they go court and Public watch to make sure Justice is carried out...
Is there anything else about the Moors Murders?
There is a load of information online. I was surprised to see it crop up here. Police still believe those moors are home to many unfound bodies from the murderer.
Why is the blood hound wasn’t on the crime scene.
Next month: memorable demolitions or alien/strange incidents.
Colonies!
Caravans for next month's subject
Influential literary figures for next month!

Great films, however without any narration or sub titles, I have no idea what we are seeing? This in all your films. Otherwise I would subscribe.
