Thaddel If wilhelm abdicated in 1918, why would the revolution that really kicked into motion in 1919 matter to him? There was great protests against the war, but you have to admit it was even greater after the Versailles. Millions of soldiers out of jobs, communists trying to take over and rise of anti semetism and nationalism... civilians distraught over pay, Germany being broke/ debt- inflation (eventually leading to hyperinflation), and yet people resorting to eating horses as alternatives...
Comedy Or Gamez Stop talking if you don‘t know anything about German history. The revolution was in 1918, what you said is plainly wrong. I have no interest in googling the English words, so feel free to look them up afterwards if you‘re interested. On october 3 Germany turned into a constitutional monarchy as it was the wish of the American president Wilson. However, war was not over yet which is why the „Kieler Matrosenaufstand“ happened in the first days of November. On November 9 the revolution also started in Berlin and Max von Baden, the chancellor, decided that there no longer should be a monarch and declared Friedrich Ebert the new chancellor and Wilhelm II. left Germany after that. In 1919 there was no revolution, but a left-wing riot called „Spartakusaufstand“ who was against the NEW government.
Thaddel Why would that matter? The British and French demanded he abdicate for there to be any peace treaty. He would have to sooner or later. It was inevitable.
The Russian Empire's end is one of sadness. Nicholas, despite his given poor leadership and decision making, still loved Russia to the very end. Ten years later, the then Kingdom of Iraq would be granted its independence

I like the snarky referral to the queen of Italy as "stately," which manages to insult both her and the king. Well hey, cheap humor in newsreels was probably necessary, to hold the audience's attention. :D
I have learnt some Italian history and I saw a mistake at 6:58. It is not Vittorio Emanuele II who supported Mussolini but Vittorio Emanuele III. As a matter of facts, Emanuele II was the first King of Italy after its unification and he died in 1878 so it cannot be him. I guess it is a typo but I saw no one noticing the mistake in the commentary section and it can be misleading for someone who has not any knowledge in Italian history.
As a Time Traveler from the 25th Century, The Ottoman Empire was restored on April 9, 4018 which was then dissolved on December 25th 5500. It's now called The Republic of Vilazkavia
Yes, but on October 22, 5610 the republic of Vilakavia was removed and the house of Kramden was installed creating the constitutional monarchy of the kingdom of Brooklyn and King Ralph I reigned with his consort Queen Alice for 47 years. After his death their son ruled as Norton I for 32 years leading to up to the sewer dynasty.
The Republic was officially proclaimed a year later after the constitution was approved but yes it was proclaimed after his abdication but not officially until then.

In view of the current situation in the the former monarchies listed here, as well as the former monarchies in North Africa, the Middle East and Asia . the question has to be asked is, are these countries better off now as republics ( of various kinds ) than they were under monarchies ? Monarchies do like all forms of government have short comings, but the " republics" in the world today seem to be far more corrupt . chaotic and self destructive than most of their monarchical predecessors. A return to monarchies might well solve many of the secretarial problems the world faces today.
Iran was much better under the Shah/monarchy. FYI, Iran is one of the most ancient nations in world history and was founded by great Kings. Republics are all BS.

Wilhelm II was a very unstable monarch, towards the close of WW1 the government advised him to abdicate in favour of the crown prince - an action that could have saved the Geman monarchy however Wilhelm flatly refused.
Around 4 monachies had to end due to their contribution to starting WW1- namely the German Kaiser, The Habsburg monarch of Austria Hungary and the Russian Czar and the Ottoman Sultan

Hi Kerby Banken! Unfortunately, we do not know the title of the song, but we know that it was performed live by Romanian classical pianist and composer Valentin Gheorghiu. You can check the original source material where the song is included in this newsreel from 1968: www.britishpathe.com/video/rumanian-pianist-valentin-gheorghiu/query/rumania+music
We hope you enjoy it!
Thanks I'll try it.

I like the snarky referral to the queen of Italy as "stately," which manages to insult both her and the king. Well hey, cheap humor in newsreels was probably necessary, to hold the audience's attention. :D
Nothing much has changed in the "mainstream"or any other type of media, including social media where the snark and the smirk reign supreme.

@@britishpathe What is the name of the song that is being used on 5:18 for the footage of the Greek kingdom?
Were the ottomans smart enough to TM 23rd century fox?
I'm new here so I just caught that epic typo.
Yes, Vittorio Emanuele III - he was my king.
Czar Nicholas the second was a cousin of George the fifth of the UK and Kaiser Wilhelm was Queen Victoria's nephew.
Kaiser Wilhelm II was actually Queen Victoria’s grandson.
As a Time Traveler from the 25th Century, The Ottoman Empire was restored on April 9, 4018 which was then dissolved on December 25th 5500. It's now called The Republic of Vilazkavia

😂😂 Didn't we meet at next year's Halloween Party at Dave's??
Yes, but on October 22, 5610 the republic of Vilakavia was removed and the house of Kramden was installed creating the constitutional monarchy of the kingdom of Brooklyn and King Ralph I reigned with his consort Queen Alice for 47 years. After his death their son ruled as Norton I for 32 years leading to up to the sewer dynasty.
Highly interesting. Good job.
very good video, I enjoyed it! but who supported Mussolini was Victor Emmanuel III, not his grandfather, Victor Emmanuel II
Prior to becoming the Austro-Hungarian Empire, it was a large part of the Holy Roman Empire.
It was the Austrian Empire. Same Empire, different name and different status for Hungary. That HRE is such a scam but really well marketed :D

The Republic was proclaimed in Germany on the same day as the kaiser's abdication, 9 November, not a year later.
He prob mixed it up with the constitution
The Republic was officially proclaimed a year later after the constitution was approved but yes it was proclaimed after his abdication but not officially until then.
@@DavBlc7 Actually the Republic was proclaimed on 9 November 1918, but the constitution of the Republic was adopted on 11 August 1919. See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_Revolution_of_1918%E2%80%931919
The Kaiser's chancellor, Prince Max of Baden, announced the Kaiser's abdication to both the imperial and Prussian thrones on November 9th thinking that would save the monarchy, and then later that day Max himself resigned leaving Ebert in charge. Later that day one of Ebert's ministers proclaimed the republic. The Kaiser himself (and his son Crown Prince Wilhelm) didn't actually formally abdicate until nine days later, after he had escaped to the Netherlands.

Mavrilon damn the monarchists dont dissapoint in being cringy as always
Mavrilon revaluations and republics brought nothing but degradation and corruption
