Hi guys thank you so much for this very informative video regarding Surinamese history and culture including a full tour of the Zeelandia museum and the center of Paramaribo 👍🏻 A "new" country I knew almost nothing about before... Great continuation of your trip! I discovered your channel just some weeks ago...when I have a day off I should look into your "old" videos... It appears to me that I have been to quite some cities in Europe and the Americas which you also visited, so I might leave some comments there as well.
Yeah it’s not a very often thought of country but it was really cool to see, and I loved it there. I wish we could have gone out into the Amazon rainforest more while there but I still enjoyed the city. India, Nigeria and Mexico are for sure the places we have spent the most time doing videos but I have made a decent little number in Europe on my trips over there. Justin will be releasing a really great polish series soon too so more Europe on the way.
@@JustLifeTravels if you are interested about the interior and jungles of Suriname here is a UA-cam documentary about it: ua-cam.com/video/35-P5ZwP4Zg/v-deo.htmlsi=2xWj3-pubb6Pm2gb For example there's a Dutch flying doctor, flying over the interior of Suriname, to reach far away indigenous and marroon communities
5:33 The reason that the fort is called Zeelandia is because Suriname was conquered in 1667 by the people of Zeeland(also known as 'Zeeuwen'). Zeeland was very active in South America. In 1682 the Zeeuwen sold the colony to the WIC, West-Indische Compagnie, or West India Company in english. It is also the first permanent building in Suriname btw
Taki taki is NOT a language. The CORRECT name is SRANANG TONGO. A lot of desease? Which are.......??? At 14.30 you said parlement, no it is the president's palace.
You guys need to do your research before visiting a country and publishing false info around the world. Why are you comparing Guyana with Suriname? You do not know what you are saying about these two countries and are just assuming using words like "probably" most of the time. Guyana is growing faster than Suriname. Do your research guys. Hope you visit Guyana again and get the facts clear. You need to travel widely in Guyana with the right people. 😊😮
Lol they were on point regarding Suriname. We are indeed the most diverse country in the world. Only thing they didn't get correct is what our second language contains

Great, I wish we knew it was the first building we definitely woulda said that! Appreciate the explanation
Haha true. You won't see kids walking around that much. Most of us here are just at home, watching tv shows or gaming.
Same here in the United States haha
3:24 / 18:17 I see what you did there 😏😏
😶🌫️😶🌫️😶🌫️
Till now we have no hurricanes in Suriname, maybe because of climate change that will change in the future.
That’s very lucky! Here in Florida I just had a big one take out my power last week.
No Parking NP
If it’s not ponce it’s parking

Just curious what did we get wrong there?
Good guyana growing faster so do hope the 60 plus years of immigration to Suriname will stop.
In my opinion you got it wrong. They ment the population and not economy. I am looking forward 2028 when Suriname will have their own oil production.😃
