I am from Germany. Hela is well known here. But it is more know a a curry sauce with hints of ketchup. It is mostly used for sausages or bbq in general. Some people also uses it for fries but not that much. Hela also has a "normal" ketchup without curry but it is not very known. By the way they have like 10 different types of currysauce. You got the lightly hot one The best one ist the " Delikat" with the light green cap.

@@ASMRRetro Yes it is kinda popular with dishes like Currywurst. Currywurst is basically grilled sausage with a tomato curry type sauce with Fries or a piece of bread

I wouldn't consider the german ketchup a ketchup at all. There's so many spices in it it becomes a whole different sauce. If you want german ketchup you get just ketchup :P
