We found it in 2020, also. We binged watched on Prime every night after work until we had watched them all within a month or two. Then we found another show on Britbox to watch. This was one of our favorites, though. Doc Martin and The Durrell's are really good shows, too.
Excellent series, very sad it came to an end, always full of good humour, excellent cast especially Amanda Redman, always had me laughing so much, especially the way she used to speak to Gerry. Never miss an episode when it comes on.
I hope that one day someone tries to revive the show... Obviously, we'll never get the same cast back but the format itself still has a lot of potential and value for storytelling...
He is my dads cousin. Dad when he retired decided to research his family tree, he approached Mr Bolam by letter and received a rather frosty response including references to possible legal action. On the flip side of the coin, his wife is a most charming woman and will quite happily give you the time of day. Never met either but think they are both wonderful actors and I respect their privacy.
This is and was a great show. Apparently the ego of the sub-par writer-director Julian Simpson is rude enough that 3 out of 4 of the original stars have left. They've been replaced by wonderful new actors, but the old ones are sorely missed. Superb acting all around, though. The plots are a bit contrived, often the drama lacks content and many lines are repetitive or simply stolen from elsewhere. The problems all appear to be writer/director issues, but I'll stay tuned and devoted for the cast. In all of the UK they can't find a better or less egotistical writer/director?
It seems Waterman can't stand Amanda look at the way he looks at her from 1:44! Ive just read they had a fleeing together for a few years!I can think it was hot! Because her and Tamzin are beautiful and hot women!

So did we. Just finished it the other night. Now it's...ok so now what british crime drama have we NOT seen in the last year? Fantastic show.

One of the best series ever. It has made me laugh and cry

Just as Dennis Waterman commented about the chemistry ..just impressive.
I really love this serie, and all the characters are “great”
One of the casts in TV Series and a fantastic idea.
We in the US love spinoffs. Brian & Esther solving crimes would be awesome. Gerry in the US avoiding the British mob would be great too.
I miss the original cast so much. 🎉❤🎉

Love love love New Tricks
One of the best series ever!
UCOS: Unsolved Crime and Open Case Squad.
Did they move the UCOS Office to Pinewood, just for this episode?
Does James Bolam ever give interviews?
Not very often, he’s a very private person apparently.

Good choice of words. A great series ..specifically the original version yes.
Julian Simpson is a great writer, but he's an arse and he really de-emphasized the character drama when he gained more influence over the show.
new tricks has disapeared from you tube if anyone has series one please please upload
THATS WAS A TREAT

Because her and Tamzin are beautiful and hot women!
I was relieved when new tricks was over. One less crime drama.
Don't watch them then. Simples.
I found this series during COVID. So sad when I finished season 12. Felt like I was loosing my best friends.
N.J. USA
CANNOT STAND redman she should have been the first one to be flushed down the toilette
