I was selected July 14, 2023. I was so excited to be apart of the program and community. I still really love DMB products and had purchased a ton of stuff. I am sad that we haven’t been contacted. The groups on IG and the engagement group on WhatsApp went crazy. I got out of all those groups accept for the WhatsApp angel group. I really do hope they revamp and it’s more fun but professional like other brands I work with. It’s disappointing. It’s been I think 9 months with no communication? That has been the worst not hearing from anyone.
I appreciate that you shared your thoughts, as I have many similar frustrations. Like you, I was honored to be accepted. I felt special. I looked forward to community & interaction & challenges. I anticipated inspiration and instruction and artistry. But then, as the months went on with no communication, I wondered … had I come in with an incorrect idea of the overall purpose of the program? Because ultimately the program’s purpose seemed to be that we would be given a box of products and then henceforth be expected to create content for them indefinitely. I never expected that I’d get all the future launches, and yet, like you said, at least maybe a coupon code? When it became clear that we weren’t actually on a PR list, I was confused about what the program even was, since we weren’t getting the community aspect that i had anticipated. As time went on, I figured they’d just overextended themselves and were just letting the program quietly die. I was disappointed but not necessarily surprised. So… I’d love to know what’s actually happening behind the scenes. Is there still a program? And if so, what is the point of the program, exactly? Because at this point I have no clue. 😅
Yes, "what is the program, exactly" was my thought too. I was like what makes this so different but alas, it is what it is. I just hope they take this and make it better.

I was in one of those group chats that got really defensive and frankly emotionally harmful because there was a complete disregard for keeping things professional and supportive. I got targeted and excluded because I asked we keep religious and political things out of the chat after someone (who I am sure meant no harm) posted content that I know would hurt some people and it absolutely did. And the brand had no policy or assistance with that or fostering a professional environment where we could all connect. It was a let down for sure and we were all further let down by their behavior going forward.
I was one of those who was extremely excited to be a part of this program. Different situations felt weird and unorganized and based on the OG angels experiences they had a way better time with it for sure! I still love the brand, the makeup is great and I’ll continue purchasing whatever sparks joy (as with any other brand)…but aside from that the only thing that changed for me was the “fairytale idea” I had in my head of what being an angel was all about. To me, in the end it all felt like a marketing ploy (sadly). This is a business without feelings, and a business’s goal is to make money so this program I guess took a backseat in their list of priorities. I’ll continue to wait and hope for the program to re-emerge with a better structure🤞🏼😅 Ps, you’re right…the best part of the day of the casting in NYC was getting to finally meet you!!! 😘
I completely agree with you ! I honestly been wanting to talk about it because it’s heartbreaking because I was very the person to buy full price for her products but is been 3 lunches I have not but and I’m not really going to !! .
You nailed it right on the head Tati. I too was accepted last year in June and I was so excited beyond words to be a part of such a well known beauty brand. I had pictured a totally different aspect on how things would be getting into that angels program. I honestly thought we would be on a different ground if that makes sense? Like to represent the brand but unfortunately, I was extremely mistaken. The truth of it all is that they really kinda threw us into that group chat and it quickly went left. It seems like they forgot about us and really never even communicated with us except for that welcome package that we got. I truly believe that group chat was all a marketing scheme and that’s unfortunate because we were all genuinely excited to be a part of such an amazing brand and now it’s like we still have not had any sort of communication with DMB. 😢💔 It’s honestly very sad that we all went in kind of thinking the same where we thought it would be completely different and then they turned out to be completely opposite of what we were expecting. Truly sad. I will say that I still do love the brand and the products that they put out and I won’t stop supporting them. I just hope that one day they can revamp the whole Angels programs and make everyone feel seen and heard. ❤

Maybe one day I’ll share my experience on stories or long form IG video; I witnessed some things that made me sad during my brief time as an angel. I still love Danessa and the brand, but this was a frustrating experience. They over expanded the program kinda like Pinkberry in 2009 😂
