Something you briefly mentioned is whenever you get a raise or bonus don’t touch/use the money. For the past ten years I’ve put all bonus into either my Roth IRA or a high yield savings account and any raise goes to a savings account and I just continue living with my old paycheck. This has boosted my investment and savings account without me even realizing it or having to do anything extra. 🎉
If you are having a hard time saving for an emergency fund here’s a tip, we are almost at tax time so when you get your tax return put aside $1500 and open an ONLINE high yield savings account. Not a local bank. You want a barrier or a little inconvenience to get to the money. Put the money in that account before you spend a dollar of your tax return. I love the house keeping non-negotiable, I hope to be there next year. Having good credit is so underrated and adding your kids to your credit card as an authorized user is really good if you are good at managing your finances.
God bless you sis! 💗 Your videos are greatly encouraging me to be more proactive about my money and steward WELL. Thank you for sharing your wisdom with us!
Great question. for an emergency fund, I always recommend something that’s readily and immediately available because in an emergency, you don’t wanna have to pay a penalty or go through paperwork!
Let me know if it would be helpful to walk through my monthly budget process.
