Jazz trumpeter and singer Jack Sheldon, who sang "Conjunction Junction" on "Schoolhouse Rock," died on 27 December 2019, age 88. A fantastic Talent. R.I.P. sir
Jack was on the 1999-08-06 show of the Phil Hendrie Show with "Phil Sings the blues" - something totally different than what he usually did on his show, satire. I think Phil was getting a little upset at Jack because Jack was telling jokes between songs the whole show. One of his jokes was: "Sex and drugs killed my father. He couldn't get either of them so he shot himself."
My teacher sings this song EVERY single time when we r talking abt conjunctions ! I had the song stuck in my head and I needed it to help me study for my exam ❤ i love this song a lot!
Three legends in this vid who made childhood that more awesome. Thank you Bob Dorough and Jack Sheldon for making learning fun and thank you Van Partible for being apart of Cartoon Network's golden age. HU HUH. Everybody do the monkey
Jack Sheldon and Bob Dorough had once-in-a-lifetime voices that were practically made for Schoolhouse Rock!. Though their voices might be silenced, they will live on in our memories.
This is a true gem…belongs in what should be the greatest public library in the world…UA-cam…but not with commercials and false promises that we can earn money sharing things we find and make ourselves. Seriously, why can’t the owners get paid for their work? People that share should not be punished by lawsuits that steal their homes because schools didn’t teach them copyright law.
I looked for this song bc it reminds me of a video back in third grade lmao it was stuck in my head, here I am now about to graduate in finance next yr lol time fucking flies
He appeared on Dragnet a few times. Once, he owned a bowling alley, another time he was Gannon’s neighbor who worked as a systems analyst, and he also played a witness to the arrest of a co-worker who was charging the arresting officer with assault.
Does anyone know if that bass player is Bill Takas? He recorded with a bass player Bill Takas and on one record cover he had a similar hat, and wondering if that's him...
So you're laughing hysterically then crying then laughing hysterically? I wonder if people even look at the expression before they use those dumb emojis.
I thought he was black you can tell he hung around black people that played jazz and R&B. He we can see where he get his voice and style from those brothers and sisters good stuff RIP to you both.
Dude on the keyboard is screwing it up… It’s like he is trying to sing out of sync and it’s not good. He should shut his mouth and stick to playing the keyboard…
I always wondered what he looked like. I pictured him as a black man based on his rich, mellifluous voice.
I imagined him skinnier.
David Brooks me too
Me too! Crazy!
Me too!
Could have seen him on an episode of petticoat Junction
Two great talents. And they're both gone now. RIP Jack Sheldon and Bob Dorough.
Yes. They're not just performers, they're also teachers.
Me the 69th like

Schoolhouse rock 50th anniversary with various artists singing them Feb 1st 2023 8 p.m. on ABC
I just learned that the singer of this song, was a regular character actor on Dragnet, my OTHER favorite show.
That man has a super awesome voice....! We loved those USA Cartoon Interludes up in Canada on a cold snowy Saturday morning after hockey.
I’ve only heard Rob Cantor’s cover of this, wasn’t expecting the original to be just as good, if not better ❤
So awesome! I swear to Goddess that my SAT score in 1977 (and the subsequent scholarships) owes so much to Schoolhouse Rock!
Lord take me back to these times
No kidding.
Is there a full video of them singing it live
Where is the full performance. Really disappointed for it to cut one third of the way through
literally got myself nostalgia goosebumps.

I didn't know you were behind the scenes. If you're not joking, what mid 90s was that?
The guy who wrote all of these songs is a cousin of Howie from the BackStreet Boys
I would have loved to have heard Jack Sheldon sing a cover of "Misry & Blues" by Jack Teagarden.
Jack Sheldon the man the legend RIP
I hate that it ended 💌
They should have given him a chorus on trumpet.
I definitely thought he was a black man. Damn this brings back childhood memories. These kids today will never know. RIP
Rest In Peace.
Who else is here after watching “Norfolk Southern What’s Your Function?”
Rip Jack Sheldon
He looks just like the cartoon conductor!
He looks exactly like his voice sounds
I really thought Nipsy Russell sang this AND I’m Just A Bill!
Sounds like a hard core blues guy.
