I would always hear about my ancestors and how they lived and fed themselves, and I'd envision them dancing around fire celebrating some marvel of life as they cooked and sang, but I not only wanted to hear, but also wanted see and taste and feel the riches of Africa. So here we are taking a Trip to Accra, Ghana where we may or not get Stuck trying to travel to Africa for Ghanaian Street Food ACCRA.
🔴SOME TRIP DETAILS: You need a Yellow Fever & Covid Vaccine to travel to Ghana *Make sure to have proof when traveling*. To get the Yellow Fever Vaccine in Jamaica, go to the Slipe Rd. Comprehensive Clinic in Kingston on a FRIDAY. You can also get the Malaria tablet you need at the clinic for free. We needed a PCR test in Jamaica and an antigen test when we arrived in Ghana. For Jamaicans no Visa is required to travel to Ghana, however we do have a US VISA so check what visas you might need for transiting if you don't have one. Please note what you need can change in future so do your checks. At the time of travel, we used this site to pre-pay for our antigen test in Ghana myfrontierheal...

Travel Tip: when traveling by car in traffic, never leave your window down low enough for someone to walk by, reach in and take your phone, purse or other Goods.🙂
Agreed
True
CCTV will solve most of it. And that became political football as always.
That actually happened to someone I was in the same car with.
@@TaNishaWebb816 That's really awful. Yeah...its a thing!😐
Woooow such a long journey to GH from JA ! I hope to go soon 🔜 but that distance!! 🙃 I’m sure it will be worth it tho.
It will be!
Hi Vanessa. Nice to see you here😊
@@SOAIVLOGS Hi
I think there is a Nigerian airline running from Nigeria to Ghana (Accra) to Jamaica. And Rwandair is also running directly from Ghana to USA and the route is Rwanda to Ghana (Accra) to USA (I think its New York). I think Delta also flies directly to Ghana from USA.
So you might want to check this out to consider a shorter journey to travel than this long route from Jamaica. This would save you on the covid tests and some cash too. Some African airlines are working on having direct connections with our Carribean brothers and sisters.
You might want to checkout the Portuguese airline called TAP. They got lots of flights to the South American and Carribean countries which would fly you to Portugal directly and then to Ghana.
We need to reach out to the government of Ghana to make some connections with the Caribbean so it will be easier for we in Jamaica and the rest of the Caribbean who want to travel to Ghana please
@@Kofi.86 it is easy to go to Ghana from Carribean, you don't need a visa if you are Carribean.
That covid test cost is a pain. Excited to see your Ghana vlogs
In case you are wondering what the lil girl said to you while holding your hand to cross the road, "the car is coming" she repeated that first sentence twice then followed that with "let's go" in Twi.
Glad to have stumbled upon this vlogger. Subscribed.
I'm a Ghanaian living in Canada and have many friends from JA and have visited as a tourist.
I've been living here since I was 4 and I'm 52 this year. I did go to high school in Ghana as a boarder...form 1 to 5. It's time to retire from nursing and return home.
Bless up and one love🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🇨🇦🇯🇲🇬🇭
Afua Konadu
He's gone to the home land well done excellent, we stuck in the diaspora need to visit home 🇯🇲
One love. Bless up.🙏🏾👍🏾🇬🇭🇯🇲
Great blog! Next time try Delta. Fly to JFK with a 4 hour layover and then to Ghana straight! My husband is from Ghana. We are building our 2nd home. We were there August 2021. Go back and visit the slave castles. It will change your life. God willing we are going home in December 2022. Akwaaba!!!!
Great route advice. My song took that route and it was much much better 👍🏾🙏🏾
Jillian and Steven I am so proud of you for visiting Ghana. I love the way you interacted with the people you came cross. You guys are truly cosmopolitan. I am not surprised you feel at home in Ghana. Try and visit the Jamaica Village in the Eastern region of Ghana. Bye for now.
Good to see you branching out, and especially seeing a Jamaican vlogger heading to Africa and Ghana in particular. The president welcomed Jamaicans to come and visit about 3 years ago and I have not seen Jamaicans taking a vlog of their visit. We Jamaicans need to branch out more and visit the motherland. Good travels.
Bless up. One Love
Ghana is beautiful but don’t just limit yourself to Accra, check out the western region, cape coast and the Volta region. It’s also a must to see the slave dungeons which will be life changing. Enjoy Ghana 🇬🇭
Great advice 👍🏾

An African living in the US for over a decade, visit my family 3-4 times a year never had any Malaria pills...I think it is just to discourage people from visiting Africa.
Thanks for sharing your story, its not easy to travel with all these covid restrictions.

I look forward to your meeting with Wada, but try to hook up with Tony and Ayo Smith with Expat Life Ghana Beyond The Return and Ivy Prosper. I'm sure the Slave Castles (Dungeons) are on your list but go in with a clear head and take it all in. Hotep...Peace and Akwabaa

And I agree. It feels exactly like Jamaica. I kept repeating the same thing in our vlog!
Sure does!
Having come to Canada as a young Ghanaian child...Jamaicans have come a long way acknowledging Ghana or Africa in any way. It's nice to see.
I've been ridiculed by many Jamaicans and other West Indians for being African. Glad to see this slow but definite transformation.
Blessings 🇯🇲🇬🇭
@@a.konadu4010 it's not like that in Jamaica tho....most Jamaicans on the island are proud Africans but when some travel they act different.
@@veinsofafricanblood7519 good to know!

@@a.konadu4010 Jamaicans has acknowledged Africa it's in the Music, food Etc but obviously been away from that contient for centuries, you may not be aware of it there are many Jamaicans in Ghana and Tanzania for years BEFORE you tube popularity of visiting Africa.

This is all very good information. I always enjoy your international travel videos. Travel just seem like such a chore these days. Thanks for sharing 👍
Great coverage keep it up, show us drinking fresh coconut.
Watching form Calgary, Canada
Thanks for info like traveling big up your self
I'm not sure if you can do this in Jamaica, but whenever I'm traveling to Europe from the US I go to my bank here in the US and order the currency for the country I'm visiting. I return whatever I don't spend. You usually have to do this a week or so before because they don't always have the amount you need, but they'll get it for you. Just a thought for currency to any country.
It's great to see the world and the people who live in it. I love to travel too. I don't do much right now but hope to change this very soon. It's too bad when people live close together we often don't try to get alone more. Hopefully, this will end one day.
I am very happy that you are in touch with wode Maya he is the best
Soaiiiiii excited to watch this video! Thanks for taking us with you on this amazing adventure 🙌🏽
This is so exciting, cant wait to see all the great content you'll push from this beautiful country.

Many thanks for this video. It's very informative 👌🏽
This was very informative Stephen. Looking forward to learning and seeing more. I do the same with my money when we travel, I never take it all out with me. Plus I always make paper copies of my PP,ID and other important information (to leave with someone at home and a copy for my room safe) just in case it's needed.

You are the best. I needed all this information you gave. You reminded about the plugs 🔌 and I did not see any information about that Ghana requirement you mentioned while in the UK so that was great information. This is why I love watching you as you give details about your travel experiences. Thank you.
Hi guys nice to see you in another country and thanks for the information I will be in Ghana in July thank you for the information and stay safe and blessed looking forward to the next video
You definitely have a talent to be a travel vlogger ! You’d be surprised a lot of African countries like Jamaican music. Enjoy Ghana 🇬🇭

Lol in Ghana the youth listen to dancehall and the old folks listen to raggae, even way more than Jamaica haha
The area looks nice. Love the professional graffiti above the store.

Hey you should connect with Fred Dahe or Wode Maya. They are the top youtubers in Ghana and they usually answer their Instagram's really quickly or answer their UA-cam comments. @@Her463 link up I’m a Ghanaian living in Japan 🇯🇵 love all my folks in Jamaica 🇯🇲
Yeah Ghana is a great place to visit but the bad thing is, it has so much to see that you need about a month stay. The temptation is that the more you see about the country and the more people you get in-touch with, the greater the temptation to stay on. I really don't blame those people who go for a visit and don't come back to where left from. Just to let you know, there's a large population of Jamaicans in Ghana.
Another great video bro. I must say quite informative as well. Thanks for the love shown Jilly cous. Just seeing this I'm SOAIexcited another winner bro. Keep it up, a lil patience indeed goes a far way.
Trust me, goes a farrrr way!
Bro that was epic, and interesting. Great vybz as usual 👏. You and Jillian stay safe. Bless up
Motherland Ghana 🇬🇭 ❤️
Great video with some valuable travel info! Loved the behind the scenes tips!
Thank you thank you, I am glad there is a hand washing station and that you have hand sanitizer with you, it doesn’t matter where you are that’s extremely important as you don’t want to get sick during your travels. I love the tours. It almost like being there.
Can't wait for you and wode maya to link up gonna be some epic videos. You and jilly be safe and enjoy
