About twenty years ago, I bought this carpet cleaner. It worked really well but it was also very pricey and very heavy. It was so heavy I wouldn't use it very often because my back would hurt. After lending it to some very well-meaning close friends and family, it didn't work right so I gave it away. I'm so glad you reviewed this beast.
I just purchased this machine and like it a lot. For some reason I have to push it super slow on the forward stroke with the trigger depressed in order to get any meaningful amount of water solution into the carpet. My carpet is very low nap. But it removes a lot of dirt on carpet that appears very clean to the eye. I really like how easy both tanks go on and off.
Dump the dirty water in the toilet, folks! If you dump it in your sink, the silt from the water could clog up your sink drain. This happened to me and no drain cleaner could clear the clog. We had to call a plumber. (Yes, we vacuumed first.)
I’ve been watching videos and and reading online between the two, and I noticed that the Hoover one has a larger capacity tank of about +50%. That alone made me lean towards Hoover, and it’s cheaper but we know it’ll still do a great job. I hope this helps!
Nice video. I'm going to get it. I wish you explained the selection buttons more. Is it just quick clean and a more powerful clean? Also, I would have liked to hear you explain the purpose of the bowl when you cleaned the hose. Thanks a bunch
The purpose of the bowl was just to hold clean water to suck up to clean out the hose. He explained the cleaning modes, deep clean applies more cleaning solution to the carpet than quick clean does. Quick clean would be for maintenance if you use regularly, deep clean for deep stains or deep cleaning if u don't use as often.
If you had to choose between this and the smartwash pet complete automatic cleaner which one would you choose? I can’t decide on the two. Any feedback is appreciated. 😊
I have the smartwash one and one thing I noticed that I never did before was that it has two long roller brushes. Unfortunately, I have old fashioned shaggy kind of carpet, and those long brushes aren’t as good for high pile carpet as the multiple spin brushes like in this one. So I’m about to make the switch. Plus the smart wash is not at all as big of a tank as this one. It’s like a mid size to this xl. I need bigger. We have a big family and need the deep clean a little more often, and I do not like having to keep stopping to change out the tanks so often.

Thanks for the information
If you have drain strainer, no need obviously
I bought this one today. I liked how it works. But i found that the water tank leaks from the bottom valve. Better to return and get another one ?
Cost ?
Does yours leak when moving around? I don’t even know where the leak is but I see drips on the floor as I move it to store
I have to pick between the Hoover PowerScrub XL ($319 aud) or Bissel Revolution Pet ($449 aud).. Is the Bissel worth the extra money?

Why do you spend your own money I think these companies would send you these items to give honest review
good question, I have received items for free, and for me it just seems hard to be perfectly honest.
