Some types of sturgeons live only in fresh water for example there is a river close to were I live called the peace River in Canada, Alberta/British Columbia were sturgeons live
I grew up catching white sturgeon here in the Columbia of the Pacific Northwest and they also just stay in the river, if you go out to the coast you can find some green sturgeon in the tributaries that go back and forth fresh to salt. But I've seen old photos of white sturgeon 22 feet long from back in the day!
Another good video. I'm particularly impressed you were able to avoid the way too common mistake of using American paddlefish pictures when talking about the Chinese paddlefish.
Woooh finally the Nile Perch, I first saw them as a kid in an old National Geographic book. They were old black and white pictures of absolutely giant Nile.
If there next episode...i have suggestions how about some snakehead fish..they can growth pretty big and tapah fish... I heard these fish also big enough to swallow people also tapah has some interesting story about curse fish
Lmao! The mouth on the Piraiba is really big... shows a car being swallowed and then proceeds to show a planet, but not just any planet.. Jupiter, of all things. Lmao, the size difference is extraordinary and that fish can swallow it all. Impressive!
for next list I would like point out some of the large freshwater fish my tops 5 goes as follows 1 jau catfish-4ft 7.118 2 colombian giant short tail stingray from (river monster)-5 ft disk diameter 3 helecopter catfish-9ft 4 giant snakehead-4.9ft 5 muskie pike-6ft and extra other are red tail catfish-5ft 11 inche blue catfish-5ft 5 inches mashieer or golden mashieer carp-9ft rohu carp-6.6ft Cathla carp-6ft although some of these fish does not grow big enough to eat you theay are considered as a big fish
@@platinumchillheart3044 They have been documented in parts of Southern India. But those were from ages ago. Current records of giants are not known. Also, many protected and community conservation areas have been created, which preserve the fish fauna in them thereby allowing the fish to grow and that can have a positive effect on their size. But Mahaseers are generally larger than Rohu or Catla.
I have to say, I've fished for sharks from piers and the beach as well as large catfish in North America but the most terrifying river monster is not on this list. It reaches minimum lengths of 15 ft and 2000 or more pounds, and its found all over North America. Boaters, swimmers, and especially kayakers are meanced every year by karens and kevins in motor boats, sometimes drunk and sometimes not but always entitled and some times dangerously so.
have you heard about Mangar fish? the scientific name is Luciobarbus Esocinus, its local to Turkey, Iran and Iraq fresh waters, it can grow up to 7.5 foot and weight up to 310 lb.
I'm a river monster. I'm eleven feet tall and 680 lbs. I haven't eaten a human yet, but don't push me. I mostly like eating cow, pig, sheep, and chickens, but now and again I will take salmon, lobster, and shrimp when I can get it. I will also accept vegetative matter, but I'm somewhat picky about that, eating it only when it's very fresh, ripe, and in season.
No sturgeon? The Beluga might not count, as they spend most of their time in the ocean, but the white sturgeon is still massive, up to 6m, and nearly 450kg.
ehhhhhhhhhh think the paddle fish was recorded at lengths of 22ft .. the paddle is nearly halkf its body length thou..so depends if you included the "paddle"
Piraiba catfish- (gravely deep voice) hey you, hey you,.. come here boy! I'm hungry. Make me a sandwich. I said boy, I'm hungry! Me- just take the children but spare me
"very large prey items" edit fricking Jupiter into his mouth. You killed me 😂
that was great
And Darth Maul lol
always a great video!! can you make an episode of extinct fish for us, please?
Yes ! That would be so good !
i will give it a go soon
This is good, extinct fish with their ancestors in the present day
@@jsaquaarts4508 or maybe fish that goes extinct on the present day
@@farisrl1257 well that would be good, mt example to my comment is
Bawitius (prehistoric)
Modern day Polypterus (present)
3:03 The mouth of the Piariba is so big that it is able to swallow cars and planets XD
100% effort shame you can’t give awards on UA-cam.
that comment is all i need, thanks SP :)

@@crevice5369 haha you got me...
I love the relaxing theme of your video. Other list videos have extremely flashy and noisy themes that I cannot stand.
I always enjoy these videos, as a catch and release angler I love learning about any species and these videos always have me “hooked”😂
Giggle fish pun 🐟 🎣
Hilarious

Another good video. I'm particularly impressed you were able to avoid the way too common mistake of using American paddlefish pictures when talking about the Chinese paddlefish.
Awesome video, be interested in seeing largest saltwater fish. (Minus sharks and similar things)
Jeez, the Piraeba seems scary… Basically just a Shark, but freshwater
Locals in brazil talk about how big ones just swallow adult people whole but the massive ones are gone unfortunately

Woooh finally the Nile Perch, I first saw them as a kid in an old National Geographic book. They were old black and white pictures of absolutely giant Nile.
Such a cool video. Thanks for your effort. 🙂
I'm kinda surprised the Hucho Taimen didn't get a shout out. That thing has a pretty wicked reputation.
That was a good video but I think the is one fish you could have put on the list witch is a murray cod
Amazing video!!!!!
thanks Paddy i appreciate it :)
@@TsukiCove thank you for having great videos available for me to watch:)
Im not sure if somebody has said it yet but I think the yellow masheer is a contender in terms of it's length
Bichirs! Polypterus

Best is the "can swollow large prey items" clip. It swollows a planet, lol.
Love it sorry i have not been active in your channel because they started school in India so i was not able to watch now school is closed agin
Paroon Shark a.k.a. Chao Phraya giant catfish is also quite large. It is similar in shape to Mekong giant catfish and can reach around 2.5m in length.

Could you make a part 3 for this video?
There really are more fish
I caught a rather big fish once, it was so strange. It was all black, and had no eyes. I found out later that it was a submarine.
Woohoo I came in 4th, great video
Thanks i appreciate it :)
Awesome video
Thanks King :)
Loved this vidoe bro keep doing it.
A video on fish that need our help would be nice to raise awareness but as always, it's your call don't do it if you don't want to
good idea but I think more than half of the FW water and 80% of SW species need our help.
Lmao! The mouth on the Piraiba is really big... shows a car being swallowed and then proceeds to show a planet, but not just any planet.. Jupiter, of all things. Lmao, the size difference is extraordinary and that fish can swallow it all. Impressive!
Excellent video keep it up.
good job tsuki
Talk about paddle fish , they live here in Texas at a smaller size they need more love
If you are going to include the length in meters please put the weight in kg as well. Thank you.

Try the murry cod 😊
How many "swish" sounds can 1 person fit into a video? This one has to be a record.
That stingray in Argentina???
Im from Brazil and believe me, there is no case registered of humans being eaten by piraíbas, not even a child. But good video ✌🏻
What's the white fish that he has in the beginning of his videos?
Maybe you can Add Orcaella brevirostris for next video
3:10 this part killed me XD

are there any fish species bigger than 23 feet long
Put the beluga sturgeon in part three, please!
I am It should be out next week even though I wouldn't really class it as a freshwater fish
What about the Siberian Taimen not as big as the rest of the on the list but still pretty big.

Have you talked about the goonch?

How about the siberian sturgeon?
Hey what about the freshwater sturgeon?
Biggest fish I caught was a 7ft 284lbs alligator gar in Louisiana it was a monster for sure but I’ve heard of them getting a lot bigger
Have you heard of the crocodile pike head Guarami
The third fish at my place MY is Baung Ekor Merah.. really can reach over 10 kg.
I believe there is at least one species of river shark that might make a list. And I don’t mean the bull shark.
I think you forgot one the alligator gar I have seen one packly in South Texas at least 8 ft or a little bit longer than that
The gar was in a previous upload
i literally know every species because of river monster XD
What about sturgeons they’re pretty big
i wasn't going include them because they venture out to sea but I've included other brackish fish now so i think I'll include them in the next one :)
@@TsukiCove The Lake sturgeon is a strictly freshwater species, and recently one of nearly 250 lbs and almost 8 feet long was caught in Michigan!
There's algae on my Lear.
Fact: Thais call ghast from minecraft and giant siamese crap the same name: Pla ka hoh.
How are all your fish and your Axolotl doing in their new homes?
If this is going to be a series, you should include the goliath tiger fish in the next video.
in terms of length theres the electric eel or similar longer fish
Background song??
The Short-tailed river stingray
Not sure if It's the largest but it can get 5 feet( 1.5m) and up to 490lbs(222kg).

What fish is that in the intro
Pet Arnie for me
will do :)
Same there is no 3m flattie (shovelnose)
Jou catfish from the Amazon is a river monster
So why havent we 5alked about the sturgeon????
