A friend of mine at work said to me a few years back "You know you hear guys that don`t play guitar telling who they think is the best and that`s fine. I hear them mention guys that don`t know a power chord from a lead scale so I always tell them You wanna know who the best is? Jimmy Fuckin` Page. Nuff said"
1:31 Couldn't you use a hall that has a hardwood floor with echo panels set up in a staggered fashion (left and right sides, and possibly hanging from the ceiling) to get the same effect? I think the different distances of the bottom, flat portions of the stairs enhances a crisp reverb. I'm not a big fan of digital plugins' low quality of wave recreation- except with snares... But this has all of those reverberation times being very smooth (as the reverberation is natural) with all of those increments. Dimensions on crack. Actually, I'd prefer a dual purpose stair set... For walking up and down... and for recording.
Actually, the type of wood those staircases and ceiling (stairs) are made out of probably has more of an effect or bearing than anything else. It appears to be either a dark mahogany or cherry. Incidentally, mahogany Gibson guitars are also known for their distinct sound. Hmmm ?
@zealberg hell, EVERYTHING sounds so compressed these days..hell, it's been that way for the past 25 years! Pro Tools and modern studios just choke the life out of music....it's the presence of mind to understand that in order to the music to breathe, the instruments need SPACE. This is one of the reasons Led Zeppelin are still held in such high regard.
Wrong. It was the non-standard micing techniques and microphones combined with tape. Tubes have about as much effect as a distortion pedal because that's what tube saturation is.. it's a form of distortion, which is NOISE. The tape is what made things 'warmer', but with the loss of higher end frequencies, which eventually made Jack a dull boy.
And the most incredible drum sound recorded to date.
So awesome to see the brilliant, legendary Jimmy Page taking us to one of the places that Led Zeppelin made some of their classic records. Love this!
God Bless Bonzo and Bonzo Jr.! On my crappy little 70's transistor radio, I could still hear the heaviness on Bonham's drums!
his smile is so lovely
Most just think of Page as a master guitarist but he is just as accomplished a producer and arranger as he is a guitarist.
Look at that SMILE !
Master Page can be a 100 years old in a wheel chair, and he`ll still reflect the ultimate meaning of cool.
Loved this movie
“Looking for Lift Shafts”. For a minute I had to think what that is.
I love the way he speaks.
there's something generous that i find in Jimmy (here) for John being among his 1st thought's upon entering hallowed ground.
Visited this place today, I could still feel those times from the early 70's and how it must have felt at the time.
Jimmy Page you rock and I liove you and always will!!
Only Jimmy Page can walk into a 17th Century mansion clapping and make it look badass.
This is one of the best videos I have ever seen
Also where Genesis did "The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway".
This is also where Genesis masterpiece "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway" was recorded.
the magic they created staggering))))))))))))))))
Thankful this man was never a casualty.

Visualize this place the next time you select 'Hall' on your reverb plug-in! 🏆🇬🇧
This is where he mentioned seeing a ghost...does anyone remember that, heh heh? It is certainly not mentioned here
so that's how they do it....

@DoubleVisionandco So cool man!!! He's awesome! Especially when he listens to rumble in the documentary.!!!
so! How do you like seeing pagey play rumble himself recently?
Jimmy Page is so damn cool.
serendipity at work again thanks to the tech
He's so cool that even the cancel culture mob can't touch him

Probably proves the fact that you don't need expensive recording studios you can record anywhere!!
yeah, just a mansion or castle! lol
Thank' s Jimmy
digital 7 Solid state is what's choking the sound. Pure Analog Vacuum Tube components up til the early 1970's were pure magic.

8by 10 s water colors only to be enlarged
@DoubleVisionandco Heavy mannn!
I heard the height was too echoey so they suspended a parachute above to dampen it.But I wasn't there I was washing the jensen outside.
👍
Thanks JImmy
What is the name of this film ?
@@gualvi2032 "It might get loud"
Actually, it was an echo machine set up by the sound man.
