His interests intersect across the philosophy of humor, mind, religion, informal logic, existentialism and phenomenology, and oppression. He wrote his dissertation on “Subversive Humor,” half about humor, half about oppression. Readers will laugh and cry, but mostly cry, mostly because they are reading a Ph.D. dissertation: what has become of their lives?

These erroneous presentations on this topic can't keep being made forever. Eventually, the charade must end. Academe and the public will recognize that I solved this problem over ten years ago. It is hardly possible to believe that the creators here are unaware of my work in this area. I've taken every possible step to ensure it is widely known.
Also, let's suppose you agree that the superiority and relief theories are irrelevant, or category mistakes, that they confuse an extraneous factor with humor itself -- as a few academics rightly point out. Then why do you then go back and suggest that they still contain value, that the better theory could be assembled by combining them? If they're completely false as descriptions of what humor is in itself, then they have no value in the way they are intended.
