Casey, not only do you do a fantastic job of getting people unstuck, but you also take the time to give them explanations that are easy to understand, and you explain the conditions that can lead to the situations like what they have encountered. As I told you in an earlier video, you truly are a Rock Star!!
Casey, I love that you explain things so well without the least bit of condemnation or condescension. It not only makes people appreciate what you are telling them, it will serve you well in parenting. Thanks for all you do!
@@notsevenfeettallfor sure. I got stuck on a mountain overnight (my rig was stuck, someone thankfully almost got to my rig too get me and my friend but there was too much snow for them to get all the way too it.) Ordered a winch the next day and saving up for 35s n lockers before next snow season!

Casey you did a great job explaining how driving in the snow changes throughout the day and year. Those were super nice folks and you helped them out of their current situation and gave some good advice for the future.
I rarely drive in the desert. Drove out and parked the truck in the sand in the cool morning. Around noon tried to move it to the next site and got stuck. I figured it had to do with the moisture in the sand in the morning making it more dense to drive on, but once the water evaporated it was just loose sand.
Casey is one of the few good guys left, I try my best to help when possible and only ever expect a thank you, here in the U.K. I volunteer to help nurses to work and back if we have any bad weather, if I see someone struggling on the side of the road stop and help, the world needs more of this and we can only hope the help we give gets payed forward, merry Christmas and a happy new year Casey to you and your family 👍
Great job getting them out!! I know it wasn't a very hard task but you took the time to get them out, answered her questions very well and gave a good explanation of various conditions and what driving was like in them. That's awesome!!!
Great explanation of what snow does. We just had a 'bomb cyclone' and that kind of snow can set up in moments to a cement-like substance some times. During one of those a long time ago cars froze in their tracks all at once on the highway. They went out with snowmobiles and rescued them all.
Think what you do is great! I'm partial disabled & get to enjoy seeing your part of the world in your videos. Plus I enjoy seeing recovery work being done & some of the interesting work around. Thanks so much for your videos.

Not only do you explain about the temperatures in the season, you also are teaching. I learned more from you than many others. I am saving up for a winch, Yankum rope, Matt's recovery rope, also Matt's sells the ratchet straps so it is a work in progress. Excellent job.
Thanks Casey for the advice, especially about how traction control works. The temps here in southeastern Virginia have been unusually colder than normal and I really appreciate your willingness to work in the low temps. It's easy to watch you work while I'm sitting in my recliner with a heater going. I'd rather watch you do your service to Oregon any day over the garbage news and entertainment that's available on many other channels. Thanks!
I enjoy how you treat people. I once got stuck on a lake, and the tow truck driver was kind of an ass. I'm thinking, its snow on a lake, peeps get stuck!
Great video! It's nice to hear tips for not getting stuck in the snow. Those people were so thankful and you made their night😊 It's nice to know there are people out there like you who will help out for nothing more than a thanks...Thank You Casey😀
Something people don’t think about is snow rated tires are for snow on roadways merely useless for off-road Snow if you had a more aggressive tire then it would dig and grab more ground the snow tires just fill up and you have to spin like hell to keep the tread cleaned out but with a solid street below the snow they work great
You put out great content! You give me great ideas for additional recovery equipment I need to keep with me. We live off grid in Wyoming 20 miles from town and 9 miles beyond the snowplow turn around.
Casey have you ever thought about being a teacher when it comes to driving in snow? I found this video very educational the way you explained about the snow. I always enjoy your videos
10 degrees. That is about as cold as it has gotten in North Texas this winter, but so far we have had no snow. Looking forward to driving in it when it comes, but today it was 70 degrees. 😃
Nice that the folks weren't intimidated by this experience of being stuck in the snow! I carry chains in my car in the winter, even though they aren't legal in MN. I figure if I get stuck, I can slap the chains on, get unstuck, and take them off again. So far, I've not had to chain up - but I like a back-up plan.
@Pet Granny Chains are illegal in MN !? I would think that anything that keeps folks from getting stuck, clogging up the roads, and not freezing to death would be a net positive. Heck, MN should be giving chains away when you buy a car there 😊
From what I can remember the way MN law read is use of tire chains is illegal except in emergency situations, I have kept chains in my vehicles for decades and used them back during the great Halloween snowstorm and several other times no one said anything most likely because they were stuck and could do anything.😁Back during the storm of 1991 most PDs were still driving around cars I doubt few if any were running 4WD SUVS or had chains. Mpls FD runs tires chains on their rigs during the winter months and do not bother taking them off until spring.
I see this comment. Tire chains illegal. I can not find a state where it states chains are illegal. Minnesota Bottom Line: Tire chain usage is permitted for hazardous weather or other related incidents only, but may not damage the highway surface. Watching videos from Buffalo NY. People said the same thing. I did not find any such laws. Always similar to Bottom Line: Tire chain usage is permitted for hazardous weather or other related incidents only, but may not damage the highway surface.
One thing I do not miss about living in central Oregon is the below zero degrees Winter. Always did like driving the back roads around skyline and China Hat.
Thank you for taking your time to explain things about how to get out. I think of it now, cuase a couple weeks ago I got stuck in front of my house, the 4x4 wasn't enough, adding the rear locker still didn't do it. Then I remembered how you and MORR always say "traction control off" I did that and was able to get out without help. So THANK YOU!
Another great video and as many others have already mentioned you do an excellent job giving them knowledge about driving in the snow during the different times of the year.
Remember the old days, when you actually had to know how to drive in the snow? The days before anti-lock brakes, and traction control? I am 75. I remember those days. I actually would go for drives in the snow to hone my abilities. I even got stuck before. I always was able to get myself out with a little digging, or chaining up.
