Jealousy Warning: Yesterday I was passing through Kanab, Utah. My daughter and I were stretching our legs when a classic car with Oregon plates pulls up to a gas station parking stall right by me. Out hops a guy and his daughter. Since I grew up in Oregon, I ask the guy where in Oregon he's from. I recognized the voice as soon as I heard him say "I just bought this from someone in Oregon" I totally randomly bumped into Paul in Kanab, Utah. He was super nice, I didn't want to take much of his time because he seemed in a hurry. He was really friendly, down to earth and just an overall good dude! Paul, It was a pleasure bumping into you! Thanks for the great content.
I truely believe in Karma! You were ment to find theese incredibly awesome vehicles! Maybe even some help from the other side? Stranger things have happened. As far as the truck goes!, I loved the idea of a blower, the truck seemed to be absolutely beautifull. Black! With a blower, monster engine! and lots of chrome. New tires and fantastic rims! Really couldn't see into interior, black tufted leather! And a crazy sound system. I can't wait to see what they both look like! After the love that you put into them. A great post! From a loving family! Thanks for the great ride.
@@williamd1891 that's what you say here, but I'm willing to put a wager on you doing exactly like he did. They didn't have the option of "towing" it. I am so glad to hear it still has the Pontiac 326 in it. What a find. This day and time that is a one of a kind car. The trucks nice too, but that Firebird steals the show for me.
"I didn't find it, it found me" Isn't that just fantastic. Good things happen to good people, Paul and Michelle, and Papa Dar and Randall. Enjoy the new projects. Looking forward to following along
Being I'm from Oregon, this was a great one to watch. Such a great find and so good to see the Bird go to your family. Sooo happy to see it out of the barn and live again. Just the way it should be. Thanks to all involved in this.

Keep up the good work and content guys, that Pontiac is a BEAST, much love from Australia.
A barn find that goes 2k miles after not running for 5 years is absolutely nuts to me. They really don't make them like they used to. As for the truck, idk what engine to go with but something with a nice big blower would be perfect in my opinion
I love that you didn't find it...it found you. That's the best feeling as you know it was ment to be! Enjoy it! Y'all are a hard working family that deserve all the success that you are getting!
The Firebird is my favorite of the pony cars since they were rare compared to the Camaros. If the heads have never been rebuilt you might want to run some additive to save the valve seats. The motor for the truck should definitely have a roots style blower with a six pack on top or a 8 Weber IDF system looks old school trick. Glad the footage of you two crop dusting each other made the final edit. Keeping it funny and light.
Yeah I said to check the numbers for production. My 5eacher had a stick shift firebird she bought must have been around 2006 or so. Pretty rare car im pretty sure it was a big block too original everything so RS and SS
That was a trip you all will remember for a lifetime. Not one, but TWO awesome vehicles to come home with. Can't wait to see what you do with them. Thanks for taking us along on the road trip.
That Pontiac brings back memories. In 1969, it was the car that drove us home from college for Thanksgiving break. I still remember the guy's name who owned it: Winchester P. Woolard.
That was epic. That car is phenomenal just to start up and take you all those miles home with no issues. I love how those two cars found you someone that's going to appreciate and respect them. And God bless that lady for thinking of you guys and how her husband would have loved you being a new caretakers of the cars.

So cool! That beautiful young lady sure gave you guys a deal of a lifetime, she picked the right people to take those vehicles over too. Excited to see what’s in store for them in the future!
That is a beautiful car. That thing is definitely worthy of being driven and taken to as many car shows as possible. No matter what you do with the truck look forward to seeing what you do with them
Truly Sensational and deserved For Paul, Michelle and the family. Including Papa Darr and Randell. What an epic lady she was gifting you with these beautiful machines. Treat them well, they'll bring you lifelong memories for the kids in years to come!
Paul what about our ancestors that walked from Illinois to Utah using handcarts? Michelle wouldn't have to worry about too much speed. LOL That car is gorgeous. Give her some love and she will be lovely.
Great trip! I can't wait to see the truck build! Driving the firebird 1,000 miles after sitting for 5 years, goes to show old classic car reliability. That's why I love them! Great video guys!
Just re-watched the entire 3-parter in order, and I am truly moved by this story. Mary Pat could not have found a happier home for these pieces of her family history!! The Firebird cleaned up so nice - that is a museum piece, basically a survivor (with a couple of updates to the stance and wheels), but a dream of a car. WOW what an amazing find. A firebird was such a classic. I know Michelle wil have such fun driving her new car. My classic Mopar wafound on the very back lot of a dealership. Was scuzzy and shabby but the potential was there. And I drove it 800 miles home, without the rat smell thankfully. Only problem was the gas hauge didnt work and i needed brake fluid top up. For the steering on the Firebird, when you are looking into the steering, Borgeson apparently makes an upgraded steering box that will fit the a-bodies, and will give it more of a modern steering feel. I tell my kids there is a reason why in the states settled pre 1900 the old towns are only 7-10 miles apart.
Love that you guys shared this once in a life time road trip that resulted in not one but two sweet rides. Cant' wait to see them in future episodes. I'm thinking an episode come soon will be building a bigger garage for all the toys. lol
I've been watching your channel religiously. I'm so jealous now I almost can't bear to look. I had a 2 door 69 Catalina convertible for a while from about 1989 to 91. It was awsome, but made me want the Firebird just that much more. Without going into how I "lost" the Catalina it's one of those things where the wound never quite heals.
Thank you for sharing your trip with us. You got a couple of great finds, there. I have no suggestions as to what to do with the truck, but it invites you to do almost anything with it you please, and, I'm sure, whatever you do with it, will be interesting to watch.

So glad you had a wonderful trip! Beautiful, Beautiful car and an awesome truck! God bless you guy's! Always Love watching Fab Rat and can't wait till the next one!
Everyone should have a road trip like that at least once in their life! Good friends going through all the little things on the way to a great find and new people who will now become family.
That was a wild and wonderful trip! What a sweet lady…when she said she had another old car, well, Paul said it right…better than Christmas! You guys are some much fun to be with! Thanks for taking us along👍
Man that car cleaned up nice , that was a once in a lifetime find wow !! On the truck build why not do something extra , I'd suggest twin turbo's because I enjoy that setup and with it being open it would be pretty easy to do not to mention how much fun it would be to drive...
Love those old Firebirds. I just sold an '87, not nearly the same, but still sporty. As far as ruts, I had 9.5 tires and highway ruts were horrible at highway speeds. They also were like pontoons on a wet road above city speed. I really hope you can keep it close to stock. I like the idea of the supercharged engine in the P/U. A 5.7 might be a little easier to keep it from going into orbit. Treat them both nice.
Absolutely Love, Love, Love, Loved this series! My mom had a '67 Camaro when I was a kid, so this '67 Firebird really brings back some great memories! Can't wait to see what your plans are for the truck ❤
Amazing. Loved the video and even when you got home.. your kid running up for that hug. Family love, nothing like it. Love you guys and looking forward to seeing the next vid. Oh Regards to PAPA DAR , he held out well for such a long trip. Great work guys
I would put on fenders on it! It’s a truck, not a hot rod! But make it haul!! And haul ass! But a 40/41 truck, that tucks the front fenders are SO sweet! But the right answer is; do what you hard tells you too!

That was all staged for views.
@@rowdyroddypooper6426 oh, I didn’t realize you were there. Thanks for letting me know.
@@jimmyjenkins9240 You're welcome
@@rowdyroddypooper6426 Actually, I was being sarcastic. Oh well.
Nice find, here in Wisconsin we throw snow on the windshield when the washers don't work.
Water bottle with smurf jizz and and old fuel line here in WNY! Wipers run manually with string. Ha haa
Also in Wisconsin and have been doing this on the windshield of my 08 Grand' Prix.
Works like a charm. What most of Canada does.
Same in Michigan.
I know what your talking about! Lived in Eagle River! Northern Wisconsin.. now in Find du lac Wi. So i know about Winter. Peace.
Beautiful vehicles!! What an awesome find
Congratulations on the bird Paul! I know that feeling and it can't be explained to someone who's never felt it.
That is the find of a life. Amazing car in great shape. Congratulations Paul. Enjoy. 😀😀
Man that car cleaned up nice , that was a once in a lifetime find wow !!
On the truck build why not do something extra , I'd suggest twin turbo's because I enjoy that setup and with it being open it would be pretty easy to do not to mention how much fun it would be to drive...
While we in Canada are under a state of emergency it is great to see the freedom you enjoy in your neck of the woods.
Cheers
Love those old Firebirds. I just sold an '87, not nearly the same, but still sporty. As far as ruts, I had 9.5 tires and highway ruts were horrible at highway speeds. They also were like pontoons on a wet road above city speed. I really hope you can keep it close to stock. I like the idea of the supercharged engine in the P/U. A 5.7 might be a little easier to keep it from going into orbit. Treat them both nice.
I can verify the hydroplaning of that chassis. I am so jealous.
