Vegetable soup sounds so good! I do have some quarts left from last year, but I know I will need more. Your broth looks beautiful, so rich and deep brown. I'm sure it will add a lot of flavor to your soup. Have a great day.
We are getting a whole hog in October and 1/2 beef in November. I will be busy making broth and restocking my pantry. Im going to try roasting the bones on my smoker/grill and see if we liked the flavor. At least enough for one batch of broth. I’m well stocked with chicken broth but still make broth whenever I bake a whole chicken and use it in the next few days.
I am almost 70 snd just learned so much! Thanks!
Same here!
Glad it was helpful!
Well done. One step closer to winter enjoyment with soup. I’ll be looking forward to the soup canning. Have a great day.
Cant wait to see the finished soup!
It will be up Saturday!
Looks delicious!
Beautiful broth. TFS 👍
Yummy. Can't wait for the canning soup video. Blessings 😊
Broth makes soup SO delicious!! You get all those nutrients from the bones that apparently are really good for you!!
Exactly what I was wanting to do!
Have fun!
Yummy.
I am anxious to find bones from s butcher for this… gotta check out more places. Thanks
Lamb bones makes wonderful stock and great scotch broth soup
Going to try this when we get our sheep back from the butcher this fall!

I bet the Smokey flavor makes a great broth!
can you not use the meat you cut of the bones, to put in the soup later?
Absolutely and we did. Just pull it out when you strain out the veggie scraps ☺️
