- Our guest this episode is Seattle's original hip hop here, Sir MIxaLot. Rising to notoriety in the 80s with a series of hits and tours, MixaLot put Seattle rap on the map and put him at the top of the charts for 5 weeks with Baby Got Back, a hit that has stood the test of time. I had a fantastic time speaking with Mix for this podcast. What a story teller!

Back in the late 80’s early 90’s all of us skaters in Seattle and the surrounding suburbs used to skate at a place called, “Barbs Ramp” in Auburn. Mix lived across from Barb and a few times he came over and watched us skate. It would turn into basketball games in front of his garage filled with those cars he mentioned. Total legend and a great guy! We were so happy he liked us skaters because back in those days, we definitely weren’t “cool.”

I'm glad you made it that far! There was a technical issue and my cameras died at that point. Luckily the audio stayed intact and was fine. Disappointing for me, for sure, but I'm glad I got most of the conversation. Thanks for your patience.
