So you are saying that when you board the flight from Amritsar and the ticket is all the way from amritsar to toronto, You still have to collect your bags in Delhi and then recheck them back on air india counter for toronto ? That is really strange because if the ticket is all the way through on air india, they should check it for toronto right from amritsar. For example, when I book a qatar airlines flight From Delhi to San Francisco via Doha. I don't have to check the bags out in Doha. And then recheck them back in. The bags are checked from delhi right up to san francisco. The only time I had to check my bags out and recheck them back in was the one time when I was completely on two separate airlines. I had gone from budapest to luton airport in london on wizz air And then I had an EasyJet flight from Luton to Reykjavik, iceland. Yes, in that case, because they are 2 completely separate airlines, I had to collect my bags out at Luton And then recheck them back in on the easy jet counter. But if it is the same airlines and you are just transiting from delhi, why don't they check your bags from amritsar directly to toronto? Or did I misunderstand that?
Thanks for this message . Yes , you are completely right . The reason I did recheck the bags because the person who was with me , booked the 2 different flights. The flight wasn’t direct for that person. That’s why , we rechecked . But for me , I did collected my bags directly in Toronto 🤗.

I don’t think so they allow but it’s totally depends on the person who is doing the job for you.
