So many other factors go into it. The formulas are age old, and not manipulated by political parties or leaders of the moment.

Yeah, so the result is... The US of Murca posting WORLD RECORD numbers smack in the middle of what any other country would call a bit of a crisis. Thats where its at. We can not trust US numbers to be any more than estimates for all the resons described above. Other countries have strong social systems that know instantly how many unemployed they have simply by pressing a button. They dont have to rely on heavily opinionated estimates or feel-good-about-ourselves surveys to have statistics.
Like one city would call up 1500 households in the middle of the working day and ask if they were "gainfully employed" Yeah... In a country with fear and paranoia of government and where its a big stigma to be unemployed. Thats going to yield accurate results, isnt it. And obviously they would call up well-to-do households in a favourable area. So thats how one city does it. The next city collects data in a completely different way, right. So the result is a system where no meaningful statistic can be kept, analysed or quoted.

That our requirements to run for President are so flimsy gave the nation a huge message that this man was acceptable.
That we had no structure in place during his four year term continued the above message and allowed constant criminal behavior to occur without calling it such, halting it or automatic immediate removal from office.
We have never been willing to prosecute a single President and so facing the need to do that or construct the procedures to do so has felt like a shock by many to face.
As his full access to media propaganda is allowed - unlike cult leader types in the past - his effect on the vulnerable has been allowed to continue. The fact that no human is entirely immune to being brainwashed makes our failure to construct guardrails all along the way allows Trump to remain incredibly dangerous.

As an old guy I would like to reassure everyone that for many humans being old doesn't mean going nuts like Rudy and Dershowitz. There is typically a measurable slowing down of thinking over the years starting at maybe 30, balanced by constantly increasing knowledge (for many anyway). Some people do get senile or nutty as we can see. For some it's mini-stokes that kill off some brain cells, sometimes a lot of them. Some people of course are nutty at a much younger age.

But I do feel sorry for the jury and all the court officials who have to be there. I'd be wearing three thermal layers if I was on that jury. For some reason 68 is freezing for AC, but too warm for heat. I keep my thermostat at 66 for heat, which is cool but comfortable, and at 74 for AC. I can’t fathom being cold at 76 degrees.
The defendant doesn't normally file a motion to dismiss until after all the evidence comes out. The motion to dismiss it normally due to lack of evidence. How can he rule if he hasn't heard all of the evidence?
