I just impulse bought a pair of these on ebay (pre-owned, but in good condition) for $60. I figure even if I don't end up enjoying the run, they're good looking shoes so I can use them as lifestyle sneakers or something lol.
Nice catch at the end btw!

Dennis Kimmeto set the previous marathon WR in the Adios 2. Just a few years ago ! Now no one would even dream of running a marathon in the 2's stack height. Point is, you can race in pretty much anything, never buy into the hype or trends, run in shoes that's comfortable for you

Out of the box, it’s on the firmer side and needs a bit of breaking in. After that, the foam just molds to your feet and gives you the extra push. It’s a very efficient shoe. Love it!

After owning the Adios 4 and now having the SL20.2, I must say having a mid distance shoe with ample cushion would be a plus for me during the 2 mile run for the Army AFCT test.

This shoe really shines when you pick up the speed. The forefoot is soft and bouncy, while the heel needs some runs to break in. I'd say this is an awesome shoe for someone who wants a do it all, performance leaning trainer/racer.
My only issue is the lacing area is a bit stiff and doesn't conform to the foot that well and the toebox is to high! Also, the shoe is the most breathable shoe I've tried so beware northern hemisphere runners!

Very stable, with the Lightstrike on the back end and the torsion bar. But when you move up to tempo pace and you start hitting the LightstrikePro the shoe completely changes to a speedy trainer. Been using this for treadmill work and it's really covering all requirements. While the stability is helping keep my shin splits (posterior tib) in check.

The Pro 2 are also an "Adios" shoe, so I think your characterization that Adios used to be the racing line, is still accurate, for all distances, including marathon

I only have one 10 miles run in those... I don't know yet if I'd be willing to go past 18 miles in them.
These shoes are made to go fast and perfect for people who like firm rides.
I find them really close to the Boston 9s and a little like the Endorphin Speed.
As for the fit, I agree it's best for narrow/regular feet... not at all for wide feet.

Loved the feel of this shoe, but ultimately had to hang it up because it’s a half-size too small (and they don’t make 13.5s). And this is short even for a race fit. Your toes shouldn’t be curling up, as they did for my particular foot.

You guys are great but I’m not sure about this walk and talk format compared to the studio format. The sound is distracting and it seems to make cuts harder to keep the video snappy. I imagine you both have a good reason for doing it, of course, so perhaps a set of two lapel mics would fix the sound at least. Keep up the good work, anyway!

Haha a little late to the party. I love the adios 6.
It’s my everything shoe and a true successor to the Boston 9. I will stock up on these before they ruin it with a carbon plate.

Would love to hear Robbe’s thoughts on the Rabbit jacket/hoodie. How much wind protection does it provide?

    • @Martha-fluterunner
      @Martha-fluterunner 3 роки тому

I bought the vest and made sure to choose the size which would accommodate a thicker layer underneath in case (I’m sometimes XS, other times S with rabbit). It’s a good wind breaker in my opinion, especially for its light weight and thinness. It still has a nice fleece on the inside. The two zip pockets are roomy, which I love. Martha

Oh man, I felt the same way after running in the Adios 3 for years. They were easily my favourite shoes and the 6 initially turned me off. But having burned through all my Adios 3s by the end of this past summer I took a chance on the 6. Now, after a few hundred kms I really love them and have grown accustomed to the height difference. Bought a second pair and will likely buy more before they get discontinued. So, for what it's worth (and I don't know if you've actually tried the Adios 6 yet) there's a chance the experience might not be as bad as you think.

They feel lighter and more importantly, just like the tempo next %, they are efficient when you are pushing the pace. The upper hugs your foot, the lighstrike pro force you to land on the forefoot and contrarily to most shoes with new foams the Adios 6 have really good proprioception (you feel what is under your foot extremely well) and stability. In addition to that they have really good traction and the torsion system extend almost to your toes and make the shoe really propulsive. But they are loud.
