I have just made this up for my son's birthday on Saturday. I am hoping it will fit the Aussie notes. I only had three $5 notes in my purse at the time but if the larger denomination notes won't fit folded in half I will fold them in thirds! I am really pleased at how this little money card came out and it was so incredibly quick to make!!! Thanks so much for sharing!
Sam - thanks for sharing this with us. That is a very different way to do a cash holder gift card. I think it would be equally fun for the recipient as well. Have a great weekend. 👏👏👏💕💐🌻
I made this and I love it. I did do a few changes, though: I shortened each long-side score by 1/8”, so that left a longer bottom piece, I was afraid I would fret too much over the difference in length and that little bit made it perfect. Then I had to fold each pocket together, mark the excess of the folded flaps showing inside of the pocket, (as the pocket was no longer square), unfold it, trim that excess off, refold flaps. Then I used a little bit of DS tape to keep the flaps in place so the money wouldn’t slip back there. BUT - when I make my next one - I will just cut a triangle of pretty paper, to fit in the visible part of the back of the pocket, glue it in, and it will then do double duty of hiding excess flap paper and securing the back so money/teabags/notes/etc cannot slip through. I also rounded the pointy corners of the two flaps of the bottom ‘cover’ , & then used a Velcro dot to hold the flaps together. I made a really pretty & embellished belly band, and used Velcro again, so it can be adjusted for the thickness of the packet, depending on how thin, (money), or thick, (tea bags), the contents are. Mine was a tad bit fussier to complete, than was yours, but we each make little adjustments to make every project our own, inspired by wonderful crafters such as yourself. Thank you😊 🇨🇦
