My ex was a Royal Engineer and I'd go on base to visit him ocasionally if he couldn't or didn't want to drive home. We'd share a sing;e bed and just watch movies in his room or go away for a couple nights. I liked the base but he made sure I didn't meet anyone else if he could help it. Not sure why.
Your ex didn't want people seeing you because as a civilian your not meant to be on the camp unless you have been cleared by the guard commander or provo sargeant or you work on the camp. I always knew the guard shift Rota so I could persuade a mate to let the barmaid who usually dropped me off after a night out through the gate and that's probably how your ex used to get you on camp too I would have thought that kind of stuff wouldn't be able to happen these days with the security risk but I suppose where there's a will there's a way 😂
@@RossNaylor-uq4jp I don't think that was the case. I had to go into an office , sign a book and get my pic taken for a a pass card ID stating how long I was going to be there etc.
What’s up eith using the mess hall, when I was in the army we had 3 decent meals and puddings and when on guard duty we also got sandwiches, I wouldn’t be using my money to buy food to cook in my room

I’d get back in tommorow if the reg came back to Germany but I’ve landed on my feet and so will you mate 🤜 take it easy enjoy Xmas and look forward to ya new chapter 💪

I am ex forces 63. Single guys on camp complained about paying food 7 days a week when some went home. Typical forces Army and RAF changed to pay as you dine. Instead of paying £3 a day for 3 good hot meals you pay 50p for breakfast cereal. Starve to save.

My fkn word how things have changed! We'd wake up in our 8 man doss, get a shower, cookhouse then straight back out on the piss again!! Kit was squared away Friday afternoon so you could fall out the shower, throw it on, a swift off brush Monday morning then first parade!! Rooms look decent too!!

That was an issue when I was in 1999-2013) However those highlights in your hair would have made you IC Shit Jobs till you got them sorted lol.. Or probably Jailed in 99 to early 00's lol.. (Good luck in Civ Div its not as bad put have a plan that's the best advice I can give.)
It may have changed. But In the first 6 weeks no you can’t go home or leave camp. After that, unless it’s a working weekend or you mess up then you’re good to go 🤙
