So where do you get your information? Is it from the Chart Supplement or the Airport/Facility Directory? Gold Seal solves the debate. www.groundschool.com
Thank you so much for this comment Russ. I've had to have this same conversation with a number of people not the least of which is the 40 plus year senior flight instructor at a local school who was too proud to acknowledge he didn't know everything. It's like some folks are just waiting to correct me when I refer to the A/FD.
There are some new sections that have been added, but the A/FD still exists - it's now a section in the book instead of being the title of the entire book.
I used it for my private checkride but now have it as part of my digital charts in Avare on my EFB. I would download the chart supplement in PDF format if I needed to. I don't plan on buying a paper copy unless I needed it as part of a checkride to be easier to access. I will keep my older copies for reference.

So it’s basically the same just a new title... I love the FAA!

You read my mind. I was just thinking about this question the other day.
It's much more intuitive to refer to the green book as an Airport Facility Directory because at it's core... that's what it is, an A/FD.
Thanks, FAA!
