I worked as a brake specialist for 20 years before I took up long distance land and marine pipe laying. When brakes squeal on any vehicle. the noise comes from a very fast rubbing vibration (especially brake dust) between the back of the brake pads (metal side) and the metal on the end of the rings on the caliper pistons. Remove the brake pads, smear copper grease on the back of the brake pads and you are on a winner. Trust me.
It's very addictive building these I totally get what you mean mate. It's improving very well now and everyday I'm feeling alot stronger, physiologically in my brain still but that usual stuff, thanks for asking. Cheers mate and glad you enjoyed
@@motomachinezuk8786 very glad to hear it mate, it takes time, but given your always positive outlook I expect you’re ahead of the curve! I rarely ride my DIY bike these days, as I’m on the Sur-Ron most of the time, but I miss the fun I had building it and modifying it a couple of years ago. Your giving me the itch though, lol! Btw, the new bike looks amazing..very pretty indeed!
for a hardtail i would say 3000w is the limit. its get scary going that fast on a push bike lol and if anyone else is wanting to do this. make sure you have good brakes.
Brakes will only do so much. The issue at these speeds is the amount of contract with the road, and even with fat bike tyres, it’s not going to be enough to let you stop quickly.
17:35 "why's that coming off" you do the two side bolts AFTER doing up the centre black nut. Trying to push the pedal on before will make the centre black nut push the crank further away
After about two years of riding a bafang mid drive, and loving it, I finally have a 3000w hub coming next week, BUT, I’ve decided to build a cushy lighter frame for the extra speed! Can’t wait!! Lol. Btw, tighten the crank almost to stripping tight. Finally stopped coming off on mine
I've still yet to try a mid drive mtb, I'm still very pleased with the lazy riding a hub offers and low maintenance. Still would like to build a mid drive at some point. Good to hear I shall keep tightening up till it sticks but maybe also use some lock thread or I did notice I could run a 10mm rod with washers either end through the crank tube if everything else fails. Good to hear others experiences with this issue Cheers
I've upgraded from a bbs02 to a bbshd with a ludicrous controller. I love the acceleration but want more top speed. I ordered a rear hub motor to assist the bbshd at the top end. I'm going to run separate 52v batteries to each motor and separate throttles. I'm hoping to get 50 mph out of this setup. I need higher top end for the country roads by me with no bike lanes. Will be much safer without cars constantly blowing by me. My next upgrade will be a 72v battery for the rear hub motor 😊
What an awesome kit! I want one!!!! That's nuts that the crank arm fell off! Luckily you weren't hard on the peddles at the time! Kit - good Bike - not so much
If you have not figured out the why , when you added the magnet on the other side it shortened your shaft coming out the other side. I hate crap like that on an otherwise beautiful build.
yeah looks like a fun bike, you might be getting more torque if its a different motor thats more similar to the QS205 ( stealth bomber ) motor, the motor I used for my MTB is lighter than those. I say that because I never really noticed any lift up on mine just from acceleration, even after I lost all that weight. Will be interesting to see what you get up to with the bike as we go into the summer time.
It's a nippy little thing and has plenty or torque to cause a novice a problem. For being straight out of the box I'm impressed. I think this peaks at 4000w so I've still some room for improvements on settings. From the off it's lifts but once over 4mph it's very manageable. Just let buller have a go lol I watched most of you're last upload with the tent and laptop in the window. Sounds like a ballache mate
I have actually sorted the speedo now but only today it was wrong setting for magnets on pas. But before fixed buller had a first go so that vid will be "soon" lol
Same mate but finding a frame to fit a 52v battery is challenging. Never enough room for battery on full sus or very few. I am looking for something 2nd hand Cheers mate
Do you know the peak Watts on your bike as i have a 2000w hub that's similar and on a 48v battery it peaks at 1840watts and with a 72v battery it should peak around 3000watts, loving your vids hope there's more to come ✌
Hi Johnny that looks like Milton under wychwood I’m in stow on the wold looking to do this exact build, would be good to have some advice from you mate if you have a spare 10 minutes
Hello and yes if you know it you'll recognise the location. I've done a video on stow exploring it and the surrounding areas . I can try and help with personal experience
That should be figured out before you get too confident with it. I would fix that if I had to replace the whole crank. At those speeds you could lose your whole nose to rode rash :-)

Ideal for the London traffic 👌 I got a USB port i did think uber dial a phone charger. The crank was disappointing, made me laugh in shock.

Depends how it's ridden for range but battery is larger so more range than a downtube battery. It's still being tested for specs but anything I learn will be posted. Cheers

@ahsaniftikhar142 I've had no problems with it since I built it only the wrong setting to start with. Wheels been fine it's not loosened up untowardly, just safety icheck axle nuts after 2 or 3 rides and maybe I've just tighned it a nats #£ck but nothing unusual but I've also not been riding it flatout everywhere, mostly cruising and acceleration. It's a quick kit. Maybe not as quiet as some as square wave I assume but still no issue for me. Range will be dependant on self control. I guess riding flatout on throttle a good 25 to 35 miles but with a little pedal power and slowing it down to 10 to 15 mph it would easily achieve 50 plus miles.
