This is my second reminder this week to go back and re-read The Silmarillion. I finally found my Earthsea complete edition yesterday as well which i also need to revisit.
I am excited for your tip 10

The Silmarillion is wonderful, but not for everyone. Earthsea was very refreshing.
      Thanks for watching!

Only if you want to. I’m never going to stop someone from reading it, and it is a bit different, but I love it.

Surprised to see Tales from the Perilous Realm in the same bracket as Children of Hurin. The lightness of the former feels worlds away from the depth and tragedy of the latter. (IMHO Tales is ok, but well behind both the Hobbit and LOTR, while Children of Hurin is arguably JRRT's best work.)

Tales is an interesting one. It’s so different, and I 100% agree that Children is the best. I’ve mentioned it before, but sometimes the experience of reading a book affects how high I place in on lists like this. I think that’s what it was with Tales. I took it slow, read one story at a time, and allowed myself to savor every moment with my favorite author. Hurin on the other hand, while amazing, it’s hard to adore in that same way. But that’s the beauty of books, we can all enjoy them differently.

I'm embarrassed to say that I have not read the Children of Hurin.
