Man this story is like So many stories in KY sadly… Mike broke my heart, I feel so bad for him. He sure passed those blue eyes down didn’t he, bless his heart, I hope he sees his justice!
I guess you always feel guilty about not being present for your kids. But one thing is immediately clear in all the hugs and kisses and sheer love this dad shows in the old home movies, he gave them more love in one day than most kids get in a lifetime. So what if he worked every day? He LOVED them, and showed it. ❤❤❤
I'm a firm believer in giving my babies hugs and kisses on the jaw. They will ALWAYS know you love them whether you're gone all day from 8am-530 pm mon-sat working or if you're home. I will always show my babies love no matter how old they are, because you never know when you're gonna hug them for the last time. This man should never feel guilty he tried his very best to be there for his son. He just wasn't there when he lost his life and thats heart breaking. I hope one day this father gets answers before he leaves this world. I live in Kentucky and know all to well how louzey law enforcement are in this state.
Gotta understand too those days the world was different. There weren’t a bunch of handouts and things to support a family. You JD to get out and get it. Even those with a good job and even those doing odds and ends to make money. It had to be done every single day. That is how people used to be raised. You didn’t sit around and you damn sure didn’t wait on someone to give it to you. Things have changed and this is a foreign concept to most amongst many other things these days.
I just cannot believe this story. How are the police NOT doing anything about this man's son being murdered? My heart is hurting so bad for this man I want to do something about it! I live in Louisville, Kentucky and I have never heard about this.
What this poor old man needs more than anything is professional psychiatric services. I say that no matter how great an injustice that you've suffered in the past, it's not worth throwing away your future because of it. He is depriving his remaining family 100% of his love and attention because his head is stuck in the past. If film producers REALLY cared about the families of Crime Victims, they would compassionately guide them to the professional help they so badly need instead of exploiting their grief in front of a camera for financial gain.
@@joekulik999No way. I haven’t even watched much of this yet but if one of my children were murdered, I’d have to either die along with them or spend the rest of my life searching for justice. Do you not have children you’re close to or something? What an odd take you have on this. I may eat my words after watching but doubtful.
This man’s story reminds me of the missing Crystal Rogers case. IMO, her father, Tommy Ballard, was murdered because he would not give up searching for the people who killed his daughter in Kentucky.
I live in KY and yes, sadly there are so many unsolved and closed cases with no resolution. I too am following the Crystal Rodgers case. The 3 men on trial just got the case moved out of the county for a better chance of an untainted jury.
I live in that area and I I feel so bad for Crystals mom she’s such a good lady and she been through more than any one person should ever have to endure . All because of the Houk family they are terrible people !
I also just randomly began watching this. BRILLIANT ! It speaks so eloquently of a time in the history of our nation. His story is my story. It's our story. When he said " There's 4 of us left." I started counting. There were 5 of us in my nuclear family. There are two of us left

I can so relate to this man's story. My son, daughter in law and granddaughter all died in a house fire in November 2023. There's no emptiness like losing children. I'm 70 y/o.
I pray you get answers. I’m still fighting for justice for my Heather Grigsby murdered in Lexington,Ky. April 26,2019. I pray you and I both get the answers we need before we leave this place. God bleed you and your family ❤️🙏
I live in SE KY & hadn't heard about this. God bless you and your son, Mr Hudgins! I pray you find peace and comfort, along with answers to Kelly's murder.
I'm 70, I've done labor work my whole life, I'm female, I stock shelves in Walmart all night..last 11 years, was a zookeeper for 45 years, worked both jobs together for some of the time. Took care of my mother for 6 years as she got dementia, plus I have a small hobby farm and have to take care of all my animals. I'm tired. I want to retire so bad. Have a bad right hip that really hurts from time to time. Had to buy my x bf out of this place in 2002 and start over, then when I had 15 years to go on the payments took care of my mom under hospice in my house so I couldn't work..had to collect social sec at 63 and I had to modify my house loan. Well.... Didn't know they were gonna add 30 years to the 15 I owed. I have to work til I'm 109 to pay my house off. I've paid for it for 30 years total as of 2023. Still owe exactly what the initial cost was, $ 105,000 between my mortgage and HELOC I had to get years ago to consolidate bills. Oh my...it's an old house in need of many repairs. I might get $100,000. free and clear..can't buy much for that in Maryland. if I moved and could have my animals I may as well not live. That's what I live for.not sure what the answer is here. Maybe sell it and buy a couple of acres and no house but at least have my horses etc. wish this guy all the luck in the world. Did his son have water in his lungs? If he was killed someplace else and dumped, he wouldn't have water in his lungs. Sorry, im lonely and have no social life and tend to talk too much.
I’m so sorry. I wish life wasn’t so hard on so many people. You seem like a kind woman, taking care of others always. Or, putting others needs before your own. My mom did the same and has to work her butt off as well. I’m hoping and praying I can help her out of all debt within the next 2-3 years. If I had it, I’d certainly help you as well. Hang in there. I’ll pray things get easier.
Thank you for sharing the stories of your life. I'm lonely sometimes but I'm pretty ornery too, lol. I miss the 4 dogs I had over the last 25 years. Two went in the last 6 months. I might get another. In spite if everything I feel blessed. BLESS YOU
God bless you! may he put you in a position with no worries ❤ I refuse to remortgage my house, I know we do what we have to. I have one son, his name is on the deed, and he has a Government job. It will be his. He promised me that I was going to " shady pines" lol. I have no worries, as I took care of my mom before she passed and he helped too. God bless
What a tragic story 😔 hope Mike finds the truth and justice is served ! Top bloke ,l just came across this documentary randomly ,so well put together, tough old guy 🤗👍💯👍
I'm sorry for your loss. I also know the pain of losing a child under hanky circumstances. It's a pain that runs deep and never gets better. The only comfort I find in all this madness is knowing the good Lord will give them their just dues on judgment day. ❤ Stay strong. You have other children who need you.
This man reminds me so much of my dad. I have heard my dad say he woke up several times with snow on the foot of his bed. Grew up poor and worked hard as a carpenter/construction all his life, I have been blessed with great parents. I feel for this man who reminds me so much of my own. This man ran a sawmill so he ABSOLUTELY 100% knows what hard work is!! I’m just rambling now but my older brother and I are taking my father fishing tomorrow😊❤️. Praying for this man and his family!

Happening across this video has answered many questions for me about My House (Log Cabin he built in 1979)!! To see the house I own back in it's glory days and to see who built it is absolutely amazing!!! His son wrote his name in the concrete floor of the garage... This is such a sad story for this family...
There's a science that can predict where a body goes when put in the water, how long it takes to come up, etc. Recently, a young man in Nashville went in the Red River and his body was found 14 days after he went missing, his name was Riley Strain. His body was found 8 miles away from where he was last seen. How long was Mike's son missing?
really? I find that interesting! I know where I live, when they go into our big river, there is a specific place they wash up down the river! I never thought about that!
I think it’s terrible. What happened to Riley strain that poor kid was sent to his death when he was kicked out of the bar it’s like no one cared about him. That stupid bar should have called an Uber for him or let one of his friends leave with him. Who knows if he fell in or was pushed in. He didn’t look like a drinker given his height and weight. It wouldn’t have took very much to get him drunk. I wonder if his friends bought him drinks just to laugh at him I’ve seen it lots of times. It brought tears to my eyes, seeing him staggering, down the street and fall into that post and no one would help him. The bar that kicked him out in that condition, and his so-called friends are responsible for this young man’s death. 😢
Both my mom n dad were born & raised in Kentucky in Perry County. This man is the salt of the earth kinda guy I grew up knowing & knowing about. I hope this helps him get the answers he needs!!!
My Lord, my heart just breaks for Mr Hudgens! Sir, if you see this, I pray you find out what happened to your boy and you get justice for him! God bless you
1:52 he’s so right when he says the cops should learn to listen and stop thinking they know everything… especially when they’ve been proven wrong time and time again 7:08 breaks my heart to hear him say he wants to wake up and just be free.. especially knowing he won’t be until he figures this out 💔
I seen many vids on Kentucky PD's failing in their DUTY 's / upholding the Laws of the Land .😢 tragic Bless this family with peace.... & the good people of falling Am-Erica.😢👊🏼💝✌🏽
I was born in Cynthiana at Harrison Memorial I love the small town don't blink you might miss it!! Lol people only know about us bc of the Walking Dead 🧟♂️🧟♀️🧟 it's so sad the cops ain't doing crap!!! I'm so sorry for his daddy sending love and prayers to Kelly's family ❤🙏
This is pitiful. This poor man needs relief from this pain. I wish he could get some solid answers so he could be at peace. One day, whether it’s in this life or the next, he will have his questions answered. He seems like he was a hard working, loyal, American husband/dad who never gave up on his family, even when things were more than tough. Who could ever expect he’d be the type of man who’d give up now? He has grit and he’s going to continue searching for answers until he gets them. Or, until his body wears out. One or the other.
I live in letcher county Kentucky and this is about how our system is around here, if you aren’t of importance and don’t know people in the judicial system they don’t really do much to help and that’s sad.
First 10 mins broke my heart, when he said he sold a bunch of stuff, that he don’t want nothing anymore. 😭 I cant imagine…. Him and Kelly lived together, he went from seeing his son everyday to one day never seeing him again. Made me want to scoop this man up and just hug him.
This broke my heart. It's so tormenting for this father. I hope and pray he gets some sort of justice before he passes. This whole family will be in my prayers 🙏
I have heard that the police and justice system where you are is very bad .Rhey actually dont seem to care and do not even look at many cases just write them off as accidental death. So sorry you have lost your son.!❤
Oooh man I love that old guy I fill so bad for him an the others he sure love his kids an family we need more men like him in the world he good looking to for being in his 70s
I live an hour away from where Mike lives.. I’d love to hear more about this case… I’d love to know why they are not investigating Kelly’s death… I’d love to talk to Mike myself..
He is right when he says "Too poor to make mistakes" I tell my kids it's expensive being poor, try to save what you can, live a little beneath your means and avoid debt when you can. It takes time to build a little nest egg but it's so important to have a little reserve as something will ALWAYS come up, an emergency, flat tire, bad tooth, medical bill etc. When you're poor, you end up paying a higher percentage to make payments . Sometimes it's unavoidable, but always try to keep a little something back.
You are so right! I’m teaching my son to do the same thing. My daddy always told me you have to have something put aside to make it when times got tight.
I’m so sorry for the loss of your son. The good LORD is coming back soon and HE will right every wrong and wipe every tear. Praying the LORD JESUS will bring the truth to light. 🙏🙏🙏
Every neighborhood speaks doesn't matter if it's through the whispers or by some other means. Unfortunately sometimes police overlook the obvious and this is definitely pne of those places.y . My heart aches for this father. Hoping to get the closure that he so rightfully deserves the answers this family desperately seeks 🙏🙏🐾❗
God bless you and your family. I love the video. Thank you for sharing your life with us. Losing a child is the worst pain ever. We just list our beautiful 21 year old to Asthma. You know, that our lives are forever changed and the pain, shock and trauma have a life long affect on family. My son has a UTube channel named Tracy J Swanson. It is a way to deal with his loss. Knowing she is a Christian is a blessing cuz I know she is in paradise with her first father.😅
My mom was murdered and it was tragic & traumatic & I couldn’t imagine it being a my child and not knowing who did it. I’ll never have my justice bc he hooked himself, but at least I know who did it. Prayers for this father.
I feel so bad for this father. You aren't supposed to bury your children - it's unnatural - they're supposed to out live you. It's horrible enough to lose them in accidents - at least you know why, where, and how - there is something to hold onto to come to terms and go forward the best you can. But when there is no reason - no body - no one but you needing answers - you'll never move forward. That he lost his wife - the one other person who would understand the pain as much as he does - is heartbreaking. I wish him peace. He has beautiful grandchildren. His son's daughter seems to be an amazing girl - if nothing else - Kelly left behind a piece of himself that is good.
Better watch who you tell things to...can't trust people! You do know what I mean! Soo Sorry to hear about your Son, Kelly, missing! I hope and pray you find the one, or ones who harmed your Son! I'm like you...I believe someone harmed him, intentionally! It's a nasty world of devilish people! We need to bring back The Higher Power! May God Bless You! I also hope the police department take your case seriously!
You did good dude!!! Such beautiful children!! We have recently had a significant loss in our family with suspicious circumstances. I feel like I don’t really have know all that happened I just want to know there was no foul play! Can’t let it go! 😞
🚩🚨Hire a private investigator to get The Cell phone Data info from the cell phone towers, to see what phones ping in the area that his body was found 🚩🚨
He knows his son. A parent knows by instinct. I believe this man. And yes, the police should hear him and investigate ALL avenues and the state needs to get this man at least his justice ! If nothing else, so his son can rest peacefully, and he can feel vindicated and is a good Dad and did his due diligence. Please listen to this father ! He lives in the area, knows the area well. Hunches, instincts, have solved many cases, long before dna and cell phones and cars with gps. We pray he at least gets justice. He was robbed of his son ! ❤ 🙏
Yes, pay a private investigator with that money. They will work a lot harder than the police will. The cops are in it for a pension. The PI’s work for results.
Let me tell you how the police know everything, i worked with a guy that in winter it was 10 degrees or so, he ended up in a big creek butt naked over 3 miles away from home, kids found him with his head sticking out of ice, his apt he was staying in was trashed, but guess what the police said? No foul play
I am wondering about the resources in these small rural areas. I find it interesting that there seems to always be limited resources when things like this happens in these areas. I I live in a city with a liberal mayor ( newly elected 😢) but our resources are good, great solid police force, and fairly low crime. To add I voted Republican. why does it seem these people are treated this way in these areas, and most vote the same way as I do? I don't understand.
My uncle who didn’t know how to swim well. Walked about a mile through the woods bare foot because his shoes were at the campsite. Then he fell or jumped in the river and that’s where they found him. A mile upstream. Is what the police said to my granny
My daughter got killed in 2020...and it was a two car collision, and they moved her body. However nobody got into trouble...and they claim that she had just been "ejected"! But from the evidence and police reports....this can not be true, scientifically proven! Wish I could get a documentary about her life and death.
I don't know why I decided to watch this story but I believe there is a reason I just don't know it yet. I am a black woman who is confused by the politics in this story. My heart breaks every time I see human suffering 💔

This is a touching story of a Fathers love. I have 3 sons of my own and just can’t imagine. Praying for this man and his family
Very interesting video. Sad that he outlived 2 of his children.
29:15 That's not just a stupid question, that's a CRUEL question. I'm so sorry for your losses. Love, hugs & God Bless you 💕💕
Lets not forget that one father in Kentucky was murdered, for looking for his daughters killers.
Yes, tommy Ballard. Crystal Rogers father.
Suspects in custody. 3 of them. Brooks is charged with Crystal's murder. Nothing for Tommy yet.
@@mommawolf9653 I'll Google it. So glad to here that. Thank you.
Prayers 🙏 and Love ❤ sent from Fulton, Ky.
I hope this gets solved!! This family is a lot like mine.
Happening across this video has answered many questions for me about My House (Log Cabin he built in 1979)!! To see the house I own back in it's glory days and to see who built it is absolutely amazing!!! His son wrote his name in the concrete floor of the garage... This is such a sad story for this family...
How amazing ! Hopefully you can get in touch with this man and let him have a look around the cabin - bring back some happy memories 😊
I felt his pain as i have a son and i cant imagine losing him i sure hope he gets answers he so deserves
Prayers from Hopkinsville Kentucky, the law needs to be looking into this, i pray for justice
Yes you are right poor Riley... This could be the key now x
I thought it was Cumberland River?
I believe he said it was four and a half months.
GET THE STATE INVOLVED AND GET THIS FATHER AND HUMAN BEING HIS JUSTICE !!! ❤ 🙏
I grew up and still live in Kentucky. This is the first I have heard of this tragedy. I hope the family finds answers and has some peace
He's handsome. What a loss of a potentially great future.
I felt the same way after my brother died. I don’t want nothin’!
I’m sorry for your brother’s passing! 🙏🏾♥️🙏🏾♥️
So so sorry for your loss god bless you sending you all my love❤xxx
Hugs
I hope more people watch this documentary or more UA-camrs tell Kelly's story,I want this father to find peace ASAP
Mike reminds me so much of my grandfather that I lost in December of 2022. He seems like a really genuine guy. I pray he finds justice for his son.
My Lord, my heart just breaks for Mr Hudgens! Sir, if you see this, I pray you find out what happened to your boy and you get justice for him! God bless you
1:52 he’s so right when he says the cops should learn to listen and stop thinking they know everything… especially when they’ve been proven wrong time and time again
7:08 breaks my heart to hear him say he wants to wake up and just be free.. especially knowing he won’t be until he figures this out 💔
I seen many vids on Kentucky PD's failing in their DUTY 's / upholding the Laws of the Land .😢 tragic
Bless this family with peace.... & the good people of falling Am-Erica.😢👊🏼💝✌🏽
Very sad .. investigation with a real investigator is needed. Wish someone would find it in their hearts to help!
I’m watching this right now, came up on it accidentally. How terrible 😢. This is such a good father, who loves his family he needs closure. 💔🙏🙏🙏

❤your are truly a beautiful man…wish you peace in your life…
I live in Ashland, Ky. Is there any updates on your son? So sorry for your loss.
This broke my heart. It's so tormenting for this father. I hope and pray he gets some sort of justice before he passes. This whole family will be in my prayers 🙏
I pray you get closure.🙏🏻💕🐾🐾💕🙏🏻
God Bless this loving Father, what a Sad Story, 😢
I have heard that the police and justice system where you are is very bad .Rhey actually dont seem to care and do not even look at many cases just write them off as accidental death. So sorry you have lost your son.!❤
Oooh man I love that old guy I fill so bad for him an the others he sure love his kids an family we need more men like him in the world he good looking to for being in his 70s
Heartbreaking story and situation, To the dad, I'm with ya, do what you have to. These days it seems it is the only way to get it done.
Absolutely heartbreaking 💔 😢
I hope this father gets answers. Seems like the guys he was with would know something if they didnt csuse his death though.
God bless you Sir sending Big love and prayers to you and the family !! and i pray you fine everything your looking for
I live an hour away from where Mike lives..
Amen
So sad, that father seams like a beautiful soul. I loved all those family videos. RIP Kelly. Praying for your peace..
You know, that our lives are forever changed and the pain, shock and trauma
have a life long affect on family.
This is awful. I like in a small town in eastern Kentucky. So many corrupt towns (it’s who you know)! I think this is what going here.
Has there been any progress since this video to solve the murder?
🚩🚨Hire a private investigator to get The Cell phone Data info from the cell phone towers, to see what phones ping in the area that his body was found 🚩🚨
Very sad for the father .. he'll probably never get closure
Nobody can know the hurt you feel when losing a child unless it’s happened to you. I never understood but now I do 😢😢😢
bless him and his family. You can feel the pain in his life...and its just not rite. Bless him...he's a good man...
God bless you. My heart breaks for you.
They. Always. Say. Drowned. I'm. Sick. Of. Them. Sayings. To. Sir
I live in the next county. Very sad. You see the love for his family.
Man he built a gorgeous house !!! So Awesome !
What a good man. Seems almost like family.
What a handsome young man I would take that 25 thousand and pay somebody to investigate cause you’re not gonna get a answer with the police
Wish I could get a documentary about her life and death.
maybe was the cornbread mafia i been reading about God bless you hope you find the answers
I'm in Louisville Kentucky and never heard about this either.🙏🏾
I hope he was able to stop smoking. My goodness, it was awful listening to him struggle to breathe.
I don't know why I decided to watch this story but I believe there is a reason I just don't know it yet.
I am a black woman who is confused by the politics in this story. My heart breaks every time I see human suffering 💔
No you ain’t wrong. Donald Trump cares about the working man.
